Very popular with the locals - hard to get a table even for two during wintery in-seasons like Fasching, when the Biergarten isn’t open yet - and other options like drinking at the bar or standing in a Schwemme are not available - this is over-civilised BW after all, not rurally chique Bavaria...Food platters come in huge portions worth their CH-bordering price tags. Beers (Dunkel/Keller/Pils/Weizen) are notably bland and extract-ridden, as even locals will attest to, but all styles are available either from tap or bottle. Good for a stop when very hungry, not the ideal pilgrimage resort for borderline tickers.“ |
| 56 /100 MEERANER PLATZ 1 “This is basically two brewing kettles with an open degustation area inside a well-stocked Edeka supermarket mall that also stocks a Braufactum cooler a few metres further on. Their Keller is a very tasty, typical Baden-Würtembergian, i.e. delicately hopped and malt-sweetish beer and comes in 1L bottles or from tap, whenever the bar is manned. Not worth a detour but definitely the tastier option in Lörrach that easily outdoes the bland local Lasser brews.“ |
