“We visited here Friday 15th December 2023 as we were staying in Bad Kötzting overnight in Frank at the local Swimming baths where there is a Wohnmobil Stellplatz for 4 vans. This was our favourite of the two brewpubs in this town, though Gasthof Zur Post is also very good. This is just a short distance from the centre, just across the river. It is a large place, with some parking out the front. There appears to be a Biergarten here also, though with snow on the ground and being mid December we were quickly inside. We sat in the Bräustüberl which was covered in wood paneling and looked very traditional. I think that there may have also been a more formal restaurant area, but we liked it here and despite the menu here being a little more simple and limited it was excellent value, in fact for the princely sum of just €42 we had four beers between us, two Cordon Bleu Schnitzels and two small Salads, superb value for money and great beer and food, nothing fancy but very decent. This place was very popular with the locals, with a large Stammtisch opposite, it was fun listening and watching folk. The beers were all very good, Loz had two Hefe Weisse, I think that I had a Helles and a Weihnachts Bock. Thankfully we asked about payment methods just before planning to order another beer as it was cash only and our server came and added everything up with pen and pad, very old skool and great, but it would have been nice to have had another beer as we were really enjoying it here. I would thoroughly recommend this place, it ticks all the right boxes.“

“We visited here Friday 15th December 2022 as we were staying in Bad Kötzting overnight in Frank at the local Swimming baths where there is a Wohnmobil Stellplatz for 4 vans. This is not far from the centre and is a nice building. We arrived just as they stopped serving food at lunchtime which was a bit of a pain as we only wanted a soup but hey ho a beer would have to suffice. It was fairly quiet with just a family group and a couple all of whom were eating. We had a beer, Loz a Hefe Weisse and I asked for the Helles which I think actually was the Kellerbier both were very good. We really liked the Kachelofen in here, it looked a little like a Tardis type structure, there was figures on the tiles like a Green Man, it was great. The place is bigger than you first think, with other rooms heading off. Service was fine, prices also v.good, liked it here, also the food looked good.“

“We visited here Saturday 16th December 2023 after an afternoon and night in Frank (camper) the night before. This is the first trinkgut that I have chanced upon and yet there appear to be a number across Germany. This is situated on the outskirts of town, however it is still walkable and it is very close to the railway line and presumably the railway station, there is a huge carpark, it really is ridiculously big and I would be hugely shocked if it was ever more than 10-20% full. There is a good range in here, particularly local Bayerisch Wald biers, but also a reasonable stab at an International selection which is in front of you as you go through the front door with the likes of Stone IPA, Delirium, Duvel, Fullers ESB and IPA, Belhaven (2 or 3 types) La Trappe, Dubbel, Tripel also a few familiar Brewdogs and 1 or two common Boon. I stocked up on International and then went hunting some local beers, proceeded to drop a bottle which made a right mess, but the store guy was lovely. This is a decent place to stock up and of course if you need an International fix by German standards this is very good.“

“Hotel and restaurant with small brewery in the centre, 5 minutes from the railway station of (Bad) Kötzting. This was a traditional Brauereigaststätte in the past. They stopped brewing and rebuilt the whole, enlarged the hotel and added function rooms. In 2011 a small brewing kit was added and the owner - cook by profession - learnt to brew as well. Hotel rooms are very good value, the food is great, the two beers are decent, especially the Rittergold. Very nice courtyard.“

“Big traditional Brauereigaststätte near the river, across from the Kurpark, beautiful setting. Nice big garden as well. About 10 minutes from the station of (Bad) Kötzting - the addition "Bad" (i.e. Bath) is relatively new. Good food, great value. Beers are very good.“
