“We visited here Saturday 8th August 2020, we were staying at 7 Täler Campingplatz in Ottmaring and cycled here along the Donau Kanal cycle path beyond Berching and then stopped here on the way back to the campsite. Much like Berching, Beilngries is a very pretty little town. Sadly the brewery and bar, Biergarten etc is currently closed as it is having a big refurbishment, so I looked for somewhere else in town to try their beers and found this place complete with Biergarten did, hurrah! It's a smart and very modern hotel (*used to be a brewery) and is located in the heart of the town on the main street. I didn't venture inside, however I suspect it will be quite modern, the website and general ethos of the place seemed to suggest modern, smart and cool. They have their own branded glasses and the staff were friendly, efficient and swift in serving. The Biergarten was nice, well shaded with large fabric swathes covering it and COVID-19 restrictions were well adhered to. They had both of the Schattenhofer beers available (Pils and Helles) they tasted great. Not sure what the food was like but it much like the place was very popular.“

“Brewery, pub and hotel in the centre of the beautiful Altmühl valley; three light and quite cozy rooms and a beergarden in the former brewery-yard are the right places to sample the good Schattenhofer brews; the quality of the food served here is by all means better than in the usual bavarian tourist-traps; recommended!“
