60 /100 VIEHTRIEBWEG 3 Nothing special with this place, but the house beer is cheap and drinkable, and the service is friendly. The patio is nice. Didn't try the food. |
70 /100 HAUPTSTRASSE 46 Classic log cabin stube ambiance with a brick-walled corner housing a standalone fireplace like grandma used to have. Old wooden ceiling and beamed dividers overhead, red checkered tablecloths and window treatments. Musical instruments and farm implements on the wall to complete the picture. Extremely friendly kitchen mom that comes out to the tables and talks at length with the locals she is familiar with. All of this would make for the perfect setting if only the beer were any good. For those visiting by bus in search of more beer to try, across the street at Gasthof Neuner you can find a Reblitz tap.

70 /100 HAUPTSTRASSE 46 Light & Dark on tap. Both are plain excellent. |
52 /100 VIEHTRIEBWEG 3 2 local brews are nothing special, yet the place is nice. |
52 /100 PFERDSFELD NR. 3 1 draft. Nothing interesting for my taste. |
80 /100 PFERDSFELD NR. 3 typically cozy brauhaus with pop filling mugs of beer and ma prepping in the kitchen. one semi-dark vollbier on tap (think something close to vienna or marzen) of decent quality (3.3), but what made this visit so enjoyable was the non-traditional menu items, out in the middle of the Franconian countryside in a town of hundreds of people - that last place you would expect chicken, pate on toast and the house specialty, marinated mackerel served with onion, caper and a sweet cream sauce, very Swedish and very delicious. |
70 /100 VIEHTRIEBWEG 3 located along the main road at the turn in to the center of Unterneuses (you won’t miss it), it’s a semi-large building with your typical brown bar and stag- and beer-decorated interior. the one haus beer on tap is dunkles vollbier that was in wonderful shape during our visit: doughy, toasty, fluffy, chewy, frothy... if you’re a fan of German lager and have a feel for properly-mashed grains, well, this should be to your liking. |
44 /100 VIEHTRIEBWEG 3 Faceless to ugly "modern" brewery-tap (erected presumably in the 70’s) with an ample patio - concrete visible everywhere - , located close to the main road Bamberg - Lichtenfels; one Hausbier and some crappy Kulmbachers available; food not very tasty, but cheap; not really recommended. |
78 /100 PFERDSFELD NR. 3 What is the meaning of "selection" here?
1. There is no selection, they only have their own beer on tap.
2. That is precisely the reason why people got there for more than 100 years.
So I give "15" for selection.Because they have exactly what you look for, nothing else.
They do not fill any bottles, but you can ask for little barrels. Very friendly service |
78 /100 HAUPTSTRASSE 46 Restaurant in front of the Ebensfelder Brauhaus. Very good food, very good value (large portions). Great service as well. Had a big non smoking section long before the Rauchverbot. Five minutes from the railway station. |
68 /100 VIEHTRIEBWEG 3 Great view from the keller, a relaxed place, self-serve, with a nice Franconian country vollbier on tap. |
64 /100 HAUPTSTRASSE 46 The patio is on the sidewalk in a pleasant small town. I did not see the interior. Large portions of hearty food and at least 3 beers to sample make it a worthwhile stop. |
50 /100 PFERDSFELD NR. 3 Village tavern in the hamlet of Pferdsfeld, obviously refurbished in the 70’s of the 20th century, so don’t expect a second Mahrs-Bräu..... But their tasty Hausbier makes it worth a visit in any case. |
