“Hell, Weizen & Pils were top notch. In addition they had 4 more sorts in bottles. Owners were extremely nice to have us much earlier their business hours.“

“Came here on a Saturday after closing time I see now. Regardless, there was a friendly guy there that was willing to sell us some beers to go. They were pretty nasty in the end, so I wouldn’t recommend a detour for here. The place was nice however.“

“well..we came here in a sunny afternoon and we stayed out ..we had what they called kellerbier .. so, i’m not a brewmaster but i’ve already tried many keller in franken and this was maybe the worst one ..the lady who served to us the beer was friedly no complain about that and the place was tipical and nice but there are many other places better than this one..“

“Visited March 2012. I walked here from Weiher and through monumentally bad planning found that i missed the bus going back to Bamberg and arrived before opening time at 4pm. Fortunately the nice woman cleaning the tables in the garden let me have a beer. The garden was pleasant enough. I didn’t really get a good enough look inside to comment on it. The two beers I had, draught Lager and bottled Jahrhundert, were good if unspectacular. Ended up walking all the way to Bischberg along busy roads and catching a bus back to Bamberg from there.“

“Loved this spot. Beck Brau, good food and good service. Way too cheap too ;-) Again, I met the American ex-pat, who helped with gaps in the language. Big Chap from Michigan - ex-forces metal worker. As beershine says, great country kitch. GF loved it. Hearty food and great beer.“

“Visited Friday afternoon. Had a talk with Andreas (Brewer) and bought the bottles I needed to taste. He spoke English and gave me a detour around the brewey and endning up with having served his new 2IPA. A collaborative brew with De Molen and Narke. Great experience and the Beck beers are in the better class of German beers. Dope“

“NOTE: brewer has moved to Ganstaller-Brau / Zoiglstube. Beck Brau owner’s son took over brewing, so don’t expect the same quality that people are talking about here. my review from 2009: wonderful little restaurant and brewery. full of life, everybody from town dining on schnitzel and fried fish. bartender/server didn’t understand english and was embarrassed by this so just ignored us. it took the help of an american ex-pat to translate and then we were treated like royalty. 2 taps and a number of bottles, the kellerbier fom vas was incredible. this is a must-visit if on a day tour west of bamberg.“

“Impossibly good ambiance in a recently remodeled stubl. Decor is honest country kitch. It’s outrageously real and genuinely rustic with old bottling equipment, stoves, and other museum pieces on the inside. More inside the brewery proper. Large patio for dining al fresco. The menu is extraordinary, all the dishes are made with beer and love. The selections are far more innovative than the norm in Franconia. Could as easily come for the food as for the beer. We were there opening night. It took 90 mins to receive the food, because this husband-and-wife team were overwhelmed by the large turnout. Since then they have simplified the menu and are only open on Tuesdays. The brewer is a smart cat who bought the brewery from Mr. Beck and has transformed it into a traditional yet modern facility that now brews several progressive specialty bocks for the beer geek export market. A tour of the brewery will yield an abundance of information. Great place.“

“Village pub, which is only open on Sundays but their beers are almost always available at the bigger - by franconian standards - brewery next door. Worth a detour for every beer hunter. Very friendly staff!“
