56 /100 ADAM-SEILER-STRASSE 1 3 local brews. OK. Renovation creates an overall polished feel to this place. |
3 Biere vom Fass. Dazu das neue Pale Ale. Nicht weit von der A70/A9. Ein Abstecher lohnt sich! |
80 /100 ADAM-SEILER-STRASSE 1 Old house, perfectly renovated. Close to church, manor house, museum. Decent beers (we had Feierwerck). Menu quite advanced for Franconia, so prices over average. |
60 /100 Brauerei Schnupp (Restaurant) HAUPTSTRASSE 8 [6/30/08] Decent biergarten. |
70 /100 ADAM-SEILER-STRASSE 1 Beautiful and cozy hill-side town, the brewery is centrally located in a rather large modern building that’s trying not to stand out. The interior is swank and polished old world.
Four beers from tap, Hell, Dunkles, Weizen and Bockbier:
Tagwerck Helles - Rich pilsner maltiness, strongly toasty but also husky and raw-smelling, more as it warms. Seems really close to being "great" Helles but could use some polishing.
Nachtwerck Dunkel - Nutty, bready, malty, simple, a little husky.
Bockbier - Honey and grain husk malt character, lemon-y hops, some plastic and alcohol off-notes.
Landwerck Helles Weizen - Spot on weissbier, banana, clove, toasty malt, phenols. |
40 /100 Brauerei Schnupp (Restaurant) HAUPTSTRASSE 8 Larger, quite faceless brewpub with an hotel next door; no traces of "typical german Gemuetlichkeit" ! There are better places in Franconia........... |
