54 /100 BAMBERGER STRASSE 2 Shabby, run-down place......That's correct! But both the service and the locals are friendly and the beer is much better than expected. Worth a stop...! |
58 /100 Gambrinus-Keller (Bar) WEINBERGSTR Witzige Kellerwirtschaft mit kurios verteilten Sitzgelegenheiten. Lecker Essen, gutes Bier, mehr muss nicht. Sind auch einige Parkplätze direkt vor Ort. |
28 /100 BAMBERGER STRASSE 2 Shabby, run-down place. Beer from bottle - not acceptable in a brew pub. The beer served was not in good condition. The place looks like it is slowly dying away. |
64 /100 HALLSTÄDTER STRASSE 12 Typical Franconian. Just 1 brew, but perfect classic. |
64 /100 BAMBERGER STRASSE 2 Pils, Jubileums Pils & Weiss - all very nice. Liked the place. |
50 /100 HALLSTÄDTER STRASSE 12 Now the third time to visit and the first to find it open. Drab, musty, dimly lit interior, tables of old men playing "smash the table" card games. They make one beer only and on this visit it was underwhelming, dull in the nose and mouth, a bit cardboard-y and yeasty. Not having heard of any case where the beer was "on", there’s no reason to return until something changes. |
58 /100 BAMBERGER STRASSE 2 Visited July 2013. This brewery outside Bamberg seems to have spruced up their brewery tap a bit lately with the light pine look which seems to be the latest fashion. Also, maybe less fashionable, a fellow in a heavy metal teeshirt was putting up a lizard cage on the wall. Yes, live lizards. Anyway, I had two beers on draught which were both awful. I hate to say this because the woman serving them was very nice and gave me a local book about the origin of their Jubilaumsbier, which looked and tasted really poor. The Pils had a rancid buttered popcorn and candle wax nose, followed by lots of diacetyl in the taste. Sorry for the beer rating in a place rating, but be warned. |
60 /100 BAMBERGER STRASSE 2 a 5 minute train ride and short walk from Bamberg. noon on a Sunday and we’re the only people inside other than the owners and their friend. definitely a locals place. one on tap, a crisp and clean pilsner. |
62 /100 BAMBERGER STRASSE 2 Shabby but cosy village pub. Only bottled beer: Pils, Vollbier and Keller. Out of business according to Ratebeer? Well, the Keller beer was fresh and in good shape. I also bought a bottle of Vollbier for take away. Friendly service. (Visited April 28th 2012) |
44 /100 HALLSTÄDTER STRASSE 12 Dim, not really cozy village pub with one - quite mediocre - house-beer on tap. Not in first row of the franconian brewpubs, but it deserves a visit, though. |
52 /100 BAMBERGER STRASSE 2 Dark place, doesn’t look well maintained, this old fashioned rural brewpub. Very friendly service. There is not a manure heap next to the brewery, but according to the flavor and smell of the beers, there should be one. Quite an experience! |
