“Now the third time to visit and the first to find it open. Drab, musty, dimly lit interior, tables of old men playing "smash the table" card games. They make one beer only and on this visit it was underwhelming, dull in the nose and mouth, a bit cardboard-y and yeasty. Not having heard of any case where the beer was "on", there’s no reason to return until something changes.“

“Visited July 2013. This brewery outside Bamberg seems to have spruced up their brewery tap a bit lately with the light pine look which seems to be the latest fashion. Also, maybe less fashionable, a fellow in a heavy metal teeshirt was putting up a lizard cage on the wall. Yes, live lizards. Anyway, I had two beers on draught which were both awful. I hate to say this because the woman serving them was very nice and gave me a local book about the origin of their Jubilaumsbier, which looked and tasted really poor. The Pils had a rancid buttered popcorn and candle wax nose, followed by lots of diacetyl in the taste. Sorry for the beer rating in a place rating, but be warned.“

“a 5 minute train ride and short walk from Bamberg. noon on a Sunday and we’re the only people inside other than the owners and their friend. definitely a locals place. one on tap, a crisp and clean pilsner.“

“Shabby but cosy village pub. Only bottled beer: Pils, Vollbier and Keller. Out of business according to Ratebeer? Well, the Keller beer was fresh and in good shape. I also bought a bottle of Vollbier for take away. Friendly service. (Visited April 28th 2012)“

“Dim, not really cozy village pub with one - quite mediocre - house-beer on tap. Not in first row of the franconian brewpubs, but it deserves a visit, though.“

“Dark place, doesn’t look well maintained, this old fashioned rural brewpub. Very friendly service. There is not a manure heap next to the brewery, but according to the flavor and smell of the beers, there should be one. Quite an experience!“
