“Visited on a sunday in the summer 2010. Owner looked surprised at me when I approached him asking for bottled beers to go and grabbed my "Good Beer Germany Guide" and laughed. Small village, cozy surroundings - a few tables outside in a yard. The beer was mediocre for Franken.“

“Lunch on a Sunday. Small main dining room. I assume there are more rooms open when it gets busy. A few picnic tables in the courtyard but I had to move one into the shade of a tree in order to sit outside. And it was a beautiful day to sit outside. The Sommergold was a favorite of mine. Dunkles Zwickelbier was a malt beauty. Weisse was spot-on. Only miss was the Lagerbier, which showed some diacetyl. Spargel on the menu was decent. Bottles sold from their garage.“

“Country place not in a town, just in nowhereland. Their main business seems to be off-sales rather than bar. Friendly.“

“Bockbier anstich 2006 on November 24th - we visisted on November 10th - what a shame. This place is very quiet family run place - execpt for the pop music playing. No other customers than us, Friday at 2 pm. An old but well kept place with wooden panels and wooden benches lining the walls. 2 beers from tap.“

“Another typical Franconian countryside brewery, situated in the village center (it’s a tiny village anyway), right next to the church. You’d be quite unlucky if you didn’t see an olden tractor bark by when you are sitting there for a beer or three. Their 2 beers, Zwicklbier and Lagerbier, are remarkably similar, but moreover very tasty and rich, focused on scrumptious malt extraction. They also have a drinks shop behind the brewery, with some soft drinks, their own beers, and the Rittmayer Weissbier. If you feel like getting more beer when you’re here, just head in any direction and you’ll hit another brewery before 3 kilometers. Such is the wonder of Franconia!“

“A quite modern, relaxed country pub, next door to the village church. There’s a little "beer-garden" between the brewpub and the brewery (or the church as well). The beers are well made and always worth a detour (especially if You want to visit the famous Weissenstein Castle in Pommersfelden)“
