However, one of the two remaining breweries in town has recently gone bankrupt, so any place serving local beer here counts now. This one is essentially a café/restaurant, just opposite Roth brewpub, but, apart from serving Roth Pils, it also has a Bavarian micro (Martin Ulrich) on tap and a few macros (Paulaner, Beck’s). Friendly staff and decent food. Not expensive. Might be back again one day.“ |

Well, this passage from the famous Irish drinking song nearly applies to this place, situated in the Markt. There is some beer, to be sure, but no more Steinfurt, as the brewery went bankrupt a couple of years ago. Instead, a few bottled variants of the rather mediocre Mönchshof and Keiler Weisse on tap. All this, as well as decent food (schnitzler galore!), is served by friendly staff. Not very cheap but reasonable. Worth a stop if you are in town but do not go there for the beer.“ |
| 78 /100 Brauhaus am Markt (Restaurant) MARKT 30 “Visited July 2013. Nice place right on the top of the market square, with plenty of outside seating. This is the de facto brewery tap of Schweinfurt Brauhaus, with its brewery farther away. I sat outside trying to withstand the heatwave. There seemed to be four draft beers, and I tried the Zwickl and Kellerbier. I preferred the latter to the rather lame Zwickl. I ordered the Frankerische Biersuppe, which was made with their weizen and was very good. (The tap of Schweinfurt’s other brewery, Roth, was closed until the evening when I was there, but their beer can be found if you wander about the town.)“ |

Enjoy a Chicken Maryland, Curried Turkey pan, Steak with Dijon, and much more. Dining is either indoors or on the patio.“ |
