“Lovely building in the altstadt. Both the food and beers were very good. Exciting descent to the toilets but see the brewery on the way. Nice courtyard. Decent brewpub in a lovely setting. A good 20 minute walk from the station but there is a bus terminus at the station from where most go near the altstadt“

“a factory brewery with a small and depressing tap room. we hesitated even going in since it looked so drab. reminded me of a czech pub. no beer on tap, only bottles, of which there were many, and we had the zoigl which was decent but unexciting.“

“Large brewpub in the old centre of Weiden. Two buildings behind one another, with small courtyard in between. Three floors above ground and two cellar levels. Also outside seating in front on the market place. Very good food, the three regular beers (which they describe as "Zoiglbiere") are okay. Is also a hotel.“

“Visitet this place in september 2011. This is what I will call a real “ Brauerei Keller “ since you have to go in the basement to vist this place. The brewing plant is a part of the brewpub. We had 3 differnt beers when we visited this place, didn´t look that they bottle their beers. Friendly staff, and it was possible to eat there, which we didn´t.“

“Bigger drinks-market not far from the Weiden centre; good to excellent selection of smaller Oberpfalz (Upper Palatinate) breweries with the exception of the local Weiden Gambrinus-Brauerei ; small, but well assorted "seasonals" section ( I’ve found there 3 Hösl and two Naabeck Bocks); worth a visit !“

“Extremely well hidden brewery tap, the most secret of all bavarian breweries: officially brewing ceased here in the 70’s, but - as the friendly owner Herr Hösl told us - brewing never stopped here: This real brewery is not listed in any of the brewery guides concerning Bavaria or germany (with the exception of Steve Thomas’ website)! With a dim and simple tap-room (vaulted ceilings included and a "beer-garden" in front of it it doesn’t seem to be very attractive, but the one house beer, made with noble Hallertau hops, is worth a journey. Do not miss it, when You are in the Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalz) !!!!“

“Basic suburban boozer, but the official brewery-tap of the Gambrinus brewery next door; exclusively popular with locals, offering only a smaller part of the wide range of the Gambrinus products; but sometmes - when You are lucky - the well done Bock beers are available here. Nevertheless: A visit there is not absolutely necessary.......“
