“We visited Brauhaus Obermühle, Braunfels, Hesse Wednesday 10th August a stopover en route to Haldern Pop Festival. Word of warning if you parked up at the top end of town (we did) and then walk down here it is a very steep walk, interestingly devoid of any steps or handrail, we parked the camper in a campervan area. There is a reason that we saw not a single person walk back up that hill, it is incredibly steep, you could do with your own oxygen supply and perhaps even a sherpa and maybe a basecamp half way to acclimatise to the altitude, ok I am joking, but trust me that is one hell of a steep uphill slog and I consider myself to be reasonably fit. We sat outside, there is a mid-sized graveled Biergarten to the front of the brewpub, this is partially shaded and was quite popular today with hikers mountain bikers *E-bike mountain bikes might I add! The food seemed to be more in line with a Bayerisch menu, however, it was good and the portion size was also good. The beers btw we tried 3-4 were all decent The place seemed popular across the age group but perhaps our age (50+ and above) was the biggest group. Service was good, the place was very nice inside, I liked it here and would certainly recommend it for a stopover if travelling by, the town is very nice. Btw you can buy beers and merch' to take away head inside, shelves and fridge on the right as you enter.“

“Visited in July 2018. Brewery restaurant located in a very nice region. Good food and beer, beers also for take away in bottles. Your place to go when after visiting Schloss Braunfels or after a hike around the area.“

“Loved this place. Located beneath the beautiful castle, this place has 5 very nice beers. Food was decent too. In good weather it’s better to sit outside in the beergarten.“

“Very nice schnitzels, nice place to chill in the evening. Tried the local Hachenburger beers. They spoke OK English as well as an added bonus.“

“A nice restaurant with great service. Gasthof Am Turm was not a far distance from Schloss Braunfels (the village’s castle). The waitress was quite knowledgeable, and patient with my German. The schnitzel wasn’t too bad, either :)“

“I was on a tour with some wine tasters when we went to this wonderful medevil town with castel. Gasthof Am Turm has a good selection of beers and after hearing about wine all day it was a nice change. Nine beers total with locals (Hachenburger) as well. A great stop and food is first class.“
