(Besucht 22.5.2021.) |
64 /100 WESTANLAGE 30-32 I visited the Biergarten in May 2017, the pub was closed due to the warm weather. Typical Biergarten atmosphere with nice seasonal thirst quenching beers. Only a few typical dishes from Hesse are offered. The food is quite nice though. Fair value. Good place, probably the best in Gießen for beers. |
68 /100 WESTANLAGE 30-32 Pretty huge place, decor is quite rustic. Was pretty busy earlier in the evening with the dinner crowd but I didn't actually stop in until later and I didn't eat. Service was good. They only have 4 beers on but I have marked the place up on this aspect as: only one beer is fixed - the others are always changing, it is one of the few traditional style German breweries that are actually trying to do anything other than lagers, you can get a flight, and the beer I had (oatmeal porter) was pretty tasty. Prices very reasonable. The place also has rooms upstairs / at the back. Can definitely recommend if in the area, as there isn't much else! |
58 /100 WESTANLAGE 30-32 Nice brewpub / beer garden in the middle of Giessen. Not a lot of selection in terms of beer, but the brews are decent. Food is traditional German fare, and relatively good value for money. In the summer you can sit outside and there is an outdoor area for the kids to play. |
50 /100 WESTANLAGE 30-32 Light, Dark, White + seasonals. Not bad, but nothing special either. |
60 /100 WESTANLAGE 30-32 Quite large building, nice and comfortable inside (the biergarten is basically the parking area). Four beers available, drinkable but not exceptional. Nice service. |
62 /100 WESTANLAGE 30-32 A place decorated in a medieval market way. 4 beers on tap, (dunkel, weizen and helles always) and one more changing depend of the time of the year(marzen, maibock, dunkelbock, summerbeer, dunkelweizen, golden ale..). Normally good beers and in good conditions. Possibility to full up a growler or buy bottles in a good prize.
Food is really good and music is horrible. |
78 /100 WESTANLAGE 30-32 Nice brewpub / restaurant. The atmosphere is typical German. Maybe a bit noisy but thats the price you pay for a good place. The food is more than OK and the beers are much better than what I’m used to in Germany. I can recommend this one for sure. |
