“Echt oldschool Bier und Raucher Kneipe in der Altstadt. Spät Abends so ziemlich die einzige offene Kneipe. Es gibt Köpi und Bittburger uÄ vom Fass. Sehr netter Chef. Am Tresen sitzen und an alte Zeiten denken…auch mal wieder nett.“

“Brewery pub has 6 of their own beers on draught, and food. The beers are a bit disappointing, the food we didn't try. The location is superb, at the beautiful market place of Goslar. Service is OK. Not very much to say about it...“

“Im Sommer nett zum Draussen sitzen mit Blick aufs Mühlrad. Es gibt Paulaner Biere vom Fass und deftige Küche. Ok. Auswahl in Goslar ist ja nicht groß…“

“Nice discover in the Alstadt of Goslar. Vegan/vegetarian bistrot which serves 2 craft beers from Neunspringe (Whisky Ale and Whisky Stout) + a couple of bio pils/weizen. “

“Amazing place in the heart of Goslar. The two Gose are the best beers I had in town. Hearty, traditional german food. Friendly and fast service. Would come back more often if I could“

“Traditional german Brauhaus with regional food and homemade beers. Four beers available: the two Gose (hell and dunkel), pils and a saisonal (altbier). Recommended“

“Very nice, traditional restaurant on the premises of a former mill. Sitting by the Aufzucht, the "river" where the water for the Gose is taken, gives you a feeling of bondness with the city, its beer and its tradition. Food is typical German, with an eye on local meat (wild). Just 2 beers on tap: Muhlenbier Hell (their Gose) and Muhlenbier Dunkel (which I did not mind investigating, but tasted exactly like Altenauer Dunkel). Recommended for the atmosphere, the location and for ticking their Gose“

“2016 August. Visited it twice during my stop at Goslar. In the heart of Golsar, this place offer 2 Gose, which come from Altenauer Brauerei. This is the only place in whole Goslar, where you can grab Gose made in this brewery, because the local market is almost totally dominated by Gose from Brauhaus Goslar. Even Die Worthmühle, if I am not mistaken, changed to the local supplier. So, I guess it alone makes it worth, isn't?“

“2016 August. So, what you get there? Somehow, I was quite lucky to experience this place in a proper way - not overstuffed with tourists, no shouting kids. etc. Ofcourse, went there for the Gose they offer, but also took a soup (mushroom one, was freakin tasty) and a main course. Enjoyed it all. I don't think, that a 3 euros for a glass of their Gose in historical birthplace of this style of Goslar is too much. Usually diletants and hop-heads are paying so much more for just another "craft" beer, in just another hip looking place, with naked walls, chalkboard (common and cosmopolitic experience), and in this case you really can feel true connection with heritage and past. So it's totally worth it.“

“2016 August 31st. Came there on late evening, just before they closed, for theirs Gose. Usually they have two kinds, pale and dark one, but there is a quite huge possibility, that you will run into a seasonal stuff too. Had a nice conversation with one of the staff, walked around, in the end took a shoot of theirs schanps too.“

“Traditional german brauhaus with 3 regular taps + a seasonal (azacca bock). Friendly staff, but quite crowded when we visited. Extensive list of german dishes - quite delicious. Worth a visit for the food “

“Historical restaurant in the heart of Goslar. Bvery nice place, top located at the Marketplace and with a nice terrace. As mentioned, three beers on tap. Staff is some kind of spacy, "the gose is a kind of bavarian weis/wheat beer" ... äh yes, next please. The three Wirtshaus Beers were supposedly brewed by Hasseröder (not at Atenau). Anyway. Nice atmosphere, food is ok. Typical tourist place.“

“NIce restaurant close to the Marktplace in the heart of Goslar. Insight style like an old Mill with lots of vintage tool and animal concoctions. Staff is harsh-but smart and very funny. Food is qhuit good and very tasty. They only have one craft-beer (and now changed the name - its just called Mühlenbier).Worth a visit.“

“Cozy restaurant with lots of other Danish tourists, which is probably because of the menu also being available in Danish. I just made a quick stop for their own gose on tap, so there is not a lot else for me to say about this place, although Marcin is right in saying it was expensive with me paying three euros for 30cl.“

“I went here on a sunny day in the beginning of April, which meant we could sit outside on the square right next to the church. They had their own three beers on tap. The Gose Gold was by far the best. The was smiling and efficient. We had three different schnitzels for dinner, but I have had much better in Germany. The vegetables on the side of my schnitzel were clearly taken right out from a bag from the freezer, and they looked like something you would have served in the 1980’s. My apfelstrudel was clearly heated in the microwave oven, which isn’t a plus in my book either.“

“We were fortunate enough that the weather was great at our visit in the beginning of April, so we could sit outside on the square. There were no seasonals on, so I had to settle for just three of their own beers in the taster set plus an alcohol free bottle that I hadn’t previously rated. We didn’t eat. The service was fairly quick and presented the beers when they were served.“

“Typical Brauhaus within the heart of Goslar. A litttle bit old-fashion, but nice. Regional Menue, quit good. Three Standard beer on tap, one saisonal. Service ist quit good as well. 2 different flight (3x0,1l or 4x0,1l). Worth a visit.“

“I was all prepared for awful service after all the other reviews, but it was actually good. Probably because it was peak Christmas market season and they had an army of staff on dealing with the demand. Basically a nice German brewpub doing what German brewpubs do, with a few very mild/drinkable goses in the selection.“

“Brauhaus in der Goslaer Altstadt. Ich komm seit Jahren immer wieder mal her. Leider gibt s immer die gleichen drei Biere vom Fass: Gose hell und dunkel und ein Pils. Da könnte mal eine Saisonspezialität dazu kommen!? Das Essen ist ok, es gibt lokale Spezialitäten, wie Grünkohl mit Bregenwurst. Der Besuch lohnt sich für jeden Bierfan wegen der original Gose aus Goslar.“

“After the totally shit service nextdoors at Goslar, this felt like heaven. Very friendly service, and constantly checking up if we were in need of something. Nice beers and food, and they also had a few beers by other breweries on bottle (Berliner Weisses and Alts). Quite crowded, but the service was still effective. Some of the staff also decided to give service in English, instead of German, which is quite uncommon.“

“A bit stale and arrogant service. It took a good while to get the sampler, and there was no information whatsoever in which order the 3 beers were (though it was easy to figure out which was the Gose Hell and which was the Pils). Also took a good while before we got to pay after asking for the bill. And it wasn’t even busy. The original plan was to grab a full glass of something and have lunch too, but since the service sucked, we went next doors to Butterhanne instead. The location is nice though.“

“Located on the Markt, just next door to the brewery, this place is rather special. It is spacious and cozy in a rather kitschy way, with funny ha-ha caricatures of the supposed lifestyle of regulars. The staff are rather friendly, and the food is decent, too. The selection is like in other places in the area: one or two exclusives, one or two locals and a few bottled macros. The Gose offered here is drinkable but definitely below the standard offered by the brewery next door. Fair prices. Might come back again.“

“Tucked away in a quiet side lane leading from the Markt to the Imperial Palace, this place doesn’t look like anying special from the outside, but boasts of a spacious and cozy interior. The selection is limited and includes the venue’s own brew, reportedly produced in the basement and available only here, and a few bottled well-known German macros. The staff are very friendly but do not seem to wish to impair their knowledge about beer. Not cheap, definitely, especially given the price level of the Brauhaus Goslar. I haven’t tried the food, partly for this reason. Might be back again to drink som e of their rather decent Gose.“

“Located on the Markt in the beautiful Goslar, this spaciou but cozy and family-friendly restaurant-cum-brewpub is definitely a place to go to when visiting the area. The selection is modest but includes three different own brews and dashed versions of those. The food is excellent - more than just ordinary German cuisine. Very helpful and friendly staff. The prices are surprisingly low, given the location. I will definitely be back again one day.“

“Visited at opening time on 1st December 2014 after a 10 min walk from the Hbf with a stop at the Christmas Market for Gluhwein to take the edge off. Had no problem getting a seat, service was good and had the Doppelbock on. Beer was decent enough too and could take away bottles. Nice wooden place looking modern though, got busier as we were leaving.“

“A decent place in Goslar, there aren’t many other places to go here. The beer is OK, but I really don’t like the sweetening stuff they put in the beers to make them taste different. The schnitzel was OK and the staff didn’t know much English at all.“

“The brewpub is located in the centre of Goslar, within a beautiful ancient scenery. It has got a very light and airy inside with light wood and lots of light - quite uncomfy. The service was little bit rough (totally opposite to the very nice and lovely girl working in the Butterhenne next door) but okay in the time when we were there - at home, the bad (bad!bad!) surprise came: We got packed two bottles of "Gose Hell" instead of "Gose Dunkel" (like ordered) - what a waste of time and money because we already had Gose Hell (of course I also blame myself because of not double-check the bag). I will come back for the missing ones but not because I thin the brewpub to be that good. Prices were ok.“

“Traditional/historical brewpub-restaurant in the historical centre of Goslar with terrace overlooking the beautiful old market place. Serves good value hearty German fare, starting with breakfast, and daily lunch specials ranging from your typical Schnitzelmenu to Wurst and steak dishes, over supraregional Flammkuchen and the regional dessert "Windbeutel".
The draw here is less their all-encompassing catering to year-round tourists, but their advertising the original "Gose", printed on closer inspection as "Gose Gold". This is confusing, as this house brew is a tasty enough, apparently top-fermenting, but innocuous brewpub throat-washer, which happens to also be named after the city’s eponymous stream. Did not find out if it is actually brewed on the premises, but copper kettles inside are part of the decor. Next door, however is the "Goslarer Brauhaus", origin of the true and sole Reinheitsgebot-defying top-fermenting Gose with salt and koriander (innocuous in its own right since they, unlike in Leipzig, refrain from adding any lactic acid). 2L Siphons or growlers of the Butterhanne Gose are neat enough and well-designed, but best categorised as a glassware souvenir. Staff is attentive, imported from Brandenburg during high season and typically geared toward dealing with passing through and 1-day tourists rather than beer lovers. Worth stopping by for the copious lunch menu with not-so-historic Gose (+ Ok dark brew "Barbarossa"), before moving on to compare it to the slightly-more historic "Gose" next door.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon in January 2011. Around a 10 minute walk from the HBF the Brauhaus Goslar is a wood timbered building well decorated inside, wooden floors, tables etc - none of that 80’s dated feel that applies to some German beer venues! The place was starting to thin out post lunch when we arrived so finding a table and decent service was not a problem during our visit. We only had an hour to spare so simply stuck their own Gose which was a decent drop. You can also take bottles away for a relatively cheap price and additionally you can take the Gose away in a wooden gift box for E10. Little bowls of beer nibbles on the tables which was a nice touch.“

“Perfectly situated in the beatiful town center. Quite modern interior and the rooms are separated. The microbrewery is exposed. Food looked good. Beer selection a bit limited, but the Gose was OK. Some great humor about the production of Gose and RaPi in the mens room.“

“Nice restaurant in a very old former mill next to the Gose river. Traditional food, very good. They used to have their own Gose brewed by Junge, but that brewery closed recently. Looks like they switched to the Brauhaus Goslar for their Gose, the other beers are from Altenau.“

“Brewpub situated at the central square in Goslar. Surprisingly modern and light for a German restaurant/bar. (bad) They still serve traditional German, local cuisine. (good) Selection is modest, they serve their own beers and Rammelsberger Pils. Child friendly, they have toys and awful acoustics... (bad - in my book) Service, however was very poor. (very, very bad). I ordered a soup - starter - and a steak - main course. The waiter arrived with the steak even before I got my beer. The beers was served very slow. (very, very bad) Young and inexperienced staff. The food, however was nice, when served in a proper order. Would not go there again. “

“Simply a very nice place to go and eat and have a beer. Their selection of beers is not exactly outstanding with only three different ones on tap and bottle from the same brewery (Altenauer). I enjoyed the traditional German cuisine and the excellent service from the waitors. There is a nice biergarden where smoking is alllowed and a nice, dark restaurant/bar indoors with no smoking. Recommended.“

“Touristy restaurant on two levels indoors with a big outdoor area with an attached playground. Nice, despite being so touristy. They don’t have many beers, but are noteworthy for being the only place on earth to serve Altenauer Gose. Suspect their other beers may also be Altenauer, but didn’t have time to check.“

“Very small and cozy brewpub, just mind the very limited opening hours. Home of the Hahnenkleer Edelbräu. Huge collection of fruit brandies and also a homemade herbal liquor available. Very friendly service, strangers are quite welcome. Got an Edelbräu and the herbal liquor with the compliments of the brewer. Heartily recommended when visiting Hahnenklee or the neigboring medieval city of Goslar“
