72 /100 Gecco Gasthouse (Bar) MÜHLENDAMM 1 Very nice place in a green area just metres from the city center. Nice patio. Friendly service, also in Covid-19 times. Just under 100 beers, with lots of German micros, and the odd US and Brewdog beer. Decent food, specialized in full size breakfasts and brunches. Quite expensive, but still worth the visit. |
50 /100 Pier 99 (Restaurant) HESEPER WEG 40 Absolutely no interesting beers there but a lovely place to spend an hour or so on the patio. Friendly but slow service. Decent food. |
70 /100 Pier 99 (Restaurant) HESEPER WEG 40 Very nice situated at the Vechtesee. Good food, large portions. Not too many beers. |
60 /100 VECHTEAUE 2 A bit out of the way and not easy to find. A bit lifeless and lacking in atmosphere. |
62 /100 Trink Gut (Beer Store) FRENSDORFER RING Liquor store that looks more like a storage room than a shop, with a good selection of weissbier, dunkels, also, according to the season, (doppel)bock or maibock and other specialities. Also some polish and czech beers, and some foreign brews from the multinationals. They also sell some food, most of all the usual snacks. |
56 /100 Trink Gut (Beer Store) FRENSDORFER RING Very cheap by international standards and a good assortment in German beers (a.o. Mühlen Kölsch, various Düsseldorfer alts, Andechser Doppelbock and other German classics). Don’t miss it when you are in Nordhorn, but there are many other Trink Guts, such as in Krefeld and Gronau. |
58 /100 VECHTEAUE 2 The beers are just above mediocre, but the patio is lovely in the sun. Season beers available. Take away beers in 2-litre bottles and small kegs. |
