| 68 /100 LANGE STRASSE 3 “The place is popular, so it’s better to make a reservation for dinner. When I vissited the place was pretty crowded. Staff was very busy serving, so there was not that much attention. The choice of beer was small with 4 taps and only 2 bottles available. The food is simple and quite tasteful, prices are affordable. So overall certainly worth a visit when in town, on the otherside I shouldn’t make a big detour going over here.“ |
| 64 /100 Löschdepot Lippstadt (Beer Store) RIXBECKER STRASSE 124 “This bottle shop sits off a round-about and is a bit hidden when you are driving east. It is a nice clean little bottle shop where there are plenty of typical “buy them by the crate” traditional local German beers available but a smaller selection than most. In some cases they display a bottle above the crates of the beer above on a shelf which helped me figure out what I was looking for. I found a few interesting German brewed beers and one from Störtebeker that was in a six pack of six different Störtebeker beers. That was a nice find. They had a nice arrangement of Detmold brews so I grabbed a few of those. They also offer beer gift basket arrangements which is nice. All in all this will be another stop for me when looking for beer the next time I visit Lippstadt.“ |

The selection of beers is good, you may find some local beers you cannot get anywhere else. Unfortunately they haven’t had any beers of Thombansen although they take the empty bottles back. No very special beers but worth a look when you are around. The owner was very friendly.“ |

There were around 6 of their beers available. All in 1 l bottles, to be priced 4 Euro each with a 2 Euro bottle deposit. Not the cheapest but something I am willing to pay for quality beer. The owner was very nice and helpful, as well as very fast and efficient. We will come back for sure.“ |

I think this place is worth adding since the local factory (Hella KG’s headquarters) hosts lots and lots of out of towners and from international locations. You will find a very nice selection of German beers. It seems a fair amount of the space is taken up by lots and lots of Pilsners. I guess the favorite of the locals. But you’ll also find some Alts, Helles, Landbeirs, micro brews from Thombansen’s place, dobbelbock and other assorted styles. They had 1 Berliner Weiss too. Wow, good prices too. I walked out with 16 beers (like 6 liters of beer) for 14 euro. This same beer in the states would have been more than three times as much.“ |
| 76 /100 LANGE STRASSE 3 “Great place for a micro brew. They have four or so beers on tap. The food menu is limited but tasty. If you want to talk beer just ask the friendly Braumeister, Daniel Thombansen, a question. A terrific guy. He was pleased to talk with me even with my total lack of understanding the German language. When I was there the menu and food information is in German. I look forward to my next visit. They now have an English language menu. Great people and great service here. Cheers Barney.“ |
