Bier und Weinbrand Ecke (Grocery Store)
BISSENER STRASSE 51
“Small bottle shop with around 400 beers. Good selection of german and foreign beers. Especially interesting Bavarian beers, regional beers less than expected. Friendly owner. Prices for the german beers on the high side and rather expensive for non-German beers. Only cash accepted. on the whole a bit disappointing experience.“

“Small bottle shop, right on the road, very easy to find (I had a GPS with me to be honest), with enough parking spots right outside. Good selection of german and foreign beers. Funny old man the owner, willing to help though. Prices are high even for the german beers but ridiculous for the foreign ones, at 4 euros for a small bottle. No cards accepted so bring cash.“

“Visited it today (29-04-2013), small corner shop with a lot of beers from both Germany and other countries but BEWARE this shop is a bit expansive, the ’’Foreign’’ beers will cost you at least 4 euros a bottle. Owner is a friendly guy who wants to help you, overall a decent store but beware of the price of the beer.“

“Popped over to here while staying in Valkenburg, Holland, during October 2012. I had a list of German beers I wanted and having read somewhere they stocked over 3,000 different bottles I went with high expectations. The actual place isn’t the huge warehouse I thought, but a small corner shop (yes, I know Ecke means corner in German, but, well, I guessed wrong). Outside is a large display of crates and bottles, inside many more bottles and glasses are on show, the joint is jam packed with beers (in no real order of style, region or brewery even). 300 Different beers max I’d say. The guy is very friendly enough and we found a couple of the beers I wanted, then I changed tack and just grabbed stuff I knew I hadn’t had before. My german is basic but OK, his English poorer than my German, so we spoke in his language: 16 Bottles later and 2 freely given metal advertising boards, I signed his visitors book. The guy is fine, his ’Jack Russell’ a nasty piece of work! Glad I drove across to use the shop, the international selection was all the usual suspects, which was a bit of a disappointment, but he has loads of German beers you’ll never have heard of, or seen before, even if you are German and a beer geek.“

“Friendly owner always willing to help you searching for beers. About 350 beers in the shop, less than expected, but an excellent choice of hard to find Bavarian beers. Expensive by German standards and the scarce foreign beers were insanely expensive at 4 euro’s a bottle.“

“Nice and friendly people. Good selection of German small and micro breweries. Expensive however. Especially beers from abroad. Bit disappointing as I was told they had over 2000 beers but they had way less. About 400 is still a good selection though.“
