“Come here to visit the beautiful town of Meißen, then sit in the Market square, order a flight, get six new ticks, enjoy the view and leave. Good, confort food. I was lucky to find the Maibock as seasonal instead of the Sommerbier.“

“Located at the charming central market of Meissen, this one is a lengthy but narrow restaurant that seems to get crowded quickly in the evenings. Wooden interior, with the beers being gravity-dispenced from wooden casks. The food was just ok, e.g. the pasta was overcooked, while prices were slightly steep for this part of Germany. The Schwerter beers were at least ok, with the seasonal doppelbock clearly standing out. The waiting was a bit dodgy, e.g. we learned that the wi-fi was "available for hotel guests only". But given that Meissen is one of the most beautiful towns in Germany and this happens to be likely the most interesting beery place in town, you will want to go here anyway when in Meissen.“

“Although there are many Schwerter places in Meissen, this should be the main outlet for beers from the local brewery. 10 of their own beers on tap or in bottles on the menu, including the seasonal beers. A few other bottled beers were available in gift packets. The draught beers can be served in 100ml tasters; called Dreier Pfiff. A few more beers on the menu from other German breweries. We sat in a quiet, relaxing and nice beer garden in a corner of the market place in the old part of town, next to the Frauenkirche. Polite service. Lovely Altstadt summer atmosphere (visited with Frau Eva, 04.07.2016).“

“Visited Mar 2016. Restaurant and tap room in centre of town. Have a core range of five beers plus a seasonal brew. The seasonal was a Maibock, which was rather good. Also had a new beer being promoted in bottles - Augustus Porter, which I liked a lot. Core range was OK but nothing special. Food was very good. This place also has rooms, we actually stayed overnight here. Note that the place closes quite early, we were the last ones in the restaurant at about 10:00 on a Sunday evening.“

“Small brewpub/restaurant in the heart of Meißen next to Frauenkirche. Now (in December) it was also just next to Christmas Market. Reasonable prices. Good beer (6 taps) and nice service. Not very busy on a Wednesday afternoon.“

“Great place in the middle of the market square. Superb service, very nice food and good prices.Quite good beers, better the German Porter. A must go.“
