| 76 /100 Welder's Dog (Bar) 120 MARSH STREET “Very groovy little place on the edge of the (small) CBD. Good music, friendly fun staff. Weirdly both times I've been they only had a couple of their own brews on tap, lots of guests. No food, but they open quite late so the pub opposite is a lunch option (crap beer but VERY cheap lunch). Live music and events happen here all the time. A must-visit if in Armidale.“ |
| 90 /100 Welder's Dog (Bar) 120 MARSH STREET “The brewery tap (brewery is other side of town) of Welder's Dog, of which on my visit on a Monday in October had 3 of their own beers on draught, and 5 guests. Smallish chilled dark bar with music at correct level, that you could both converse and hear music. Food is limited to help yourself cheese and meats, but you are allowed to BYO (bring your own), such as the pizza takeaway next door. Serves small and large sizes, prices clearly labelled on taps. Take away 4 can packs available. A really stunning place, if only craft beer and great relaxed atmospheric bars existed in Oz when I lived here 20 years ago. Well done to the owners for bringing good beer and a great bar to regional NSW. Beware, closing hours on website not adhered to and based on demand! PS They have a sister bar in Tamworth, NSW.
