90 /100 49 KEPPEL STREET Fantastic courtyard with the largest range of craft beers anywhere in the Central West. 9 beers on tap plus more than 50 in cans. Staff are friendly and there is great authentic Mexican food that is fresh and tasty |
62 /100 1 RIBBON GANG LANE The pickings for beer-hunters are slim west of Sydney, which makes this five-year-old bar/pizza restaurant in a restored Bathurst church school-house worthy of mention. The sun-soaked courtyard is a lovely place to lunch and the vibe is buzzy and friendly. The beer list wouldn’t warrant a listing in many parts of the country but we should celebrate any attempt to lift standards on the other side of the Blue Mountains. On a visit in September 2013, the tap list included one from the nearby Fish River Valley brewery, Vale IPA, Little Creatures Pale Ale and a cider I hadn’t seen before. Nice wine list and first-rate pizzas. Highly recommended for lunch/dinner. Worth noting that it’s tucked up an alleyway off William Street and not obvious unless you know here to look. Keep an eye out for the sign on William St. |
