“Range Brewing & Taproom is located in a Newstead back street where parking is at a premium and the venue is a bit hard to see at night. From the street it looks small but once inside the old warehouse opens up in to quite a decent sized taproom area holding a lot of formal seating and with the shiny brewing vessels along two walls. The venue has subdued lighting and can be, due to its open design, extremely noisy. The staff are friendly and welcoming, have a very good working knowledge of the product range; and you’ll see the brewers working the scene. The venue currently offers 11 of their own craft beers on tap and their range is continually changing as they do not have what they call a core range but make different series (eg lager, sour ale, pale ale), saying that they specialise in brewing a rotating line-up of hoppy, dark and sour beers. The beers tried were all fresh and tasty, are available in two sizes (366 ml and 510 ml), and are at Brisbane craft beer scene prices. There is no evidence of tasters however there is a few of their range of beers available in cans, either as singles or four-packs, cold from the fridge and they do growlers. They also serve a very limited range of wine, cider and non-alcoholic drinks. Food-wise an on-site kitchen serves a tasty selection of sourdough pizzas and bites. They are a child and pet/dog friendly venue. If you like hoppy and sour and dark beers, do yourself a flavour and visit.“
