74 /100 209 NORTH WABASH AVENUE OF FLAGS Interesting place in the surprisingly large city of Evansville. Big mural on the outside, very artsy on the inside. The theme seems to be famous influential women. Our server was very energetic and attentive. 13 beers on draft, many styles represented. If I were in Evansville again I would revisit. |
78 /100 101 SE FIRST STREET SUITE 1 My first place rate in a long time. Hard to rate a place during a pandemic but I was here and found this place to be quite decent. Not much happening on a Saturday night in Evansville, except for this place and the casino down the street. Smallish tap room with 12 of their beers on tap. No food but they did have 2 food trucks outside and the lines were long. The one beer I had was decent and only 5 bucks a pour. For the young hip crowd in Evansville, this must be the place to go. |
72 /100 101 SE FIRST STREET SUITE 1 Nice place downtown - large bar with numerous tables. 12 beers on tap - a couple of guest beers plus BMC beers available. Street parking with a garage nearby - probably not hard to find parking unless there is something going on downtown (like when I went). Pleasant place. |
84 /100 209 NORTH WABASH AVENUE OF FLAGS On the west side of town (very close to the Gerst Haus). Nice size restaurant and bar with patio. Nice selection of their beers with a few guest taps - Crowlers available. Open for brunch on the weekend. Parking lot available but also quite a bit of street parking. A great place. |
90 /100 Gerst Bavarian Haus (Restaurant) 2100 W. FRANKLIN On the edge of a business district. Tons of taps, a mix of Indiana/local and German/European. Pretty good food. A mix of new and old school. |
26 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET Right in the town centre, this place has an old school feel to it. Flights of all 6 beers available for a very cheap $4, but the beers are all so bad that it didn’t even feel like a deal. Had a vegan pizza as well (thank you for offering that!), but ended up getting charged extra despite poor wording on the menu. Don’t bother with this place. |
72 /100 56 ADAMS AVE Small bar with a few tables. 5 of their own beers on tap with a few guest taps. Nice laid back place. |
86 /100 Winetree Liquors East (Beer Store) 1951 WASHINGTON AVE Looks like the craft beer section has vastly expanded since late 2016. Great, nerdy beer geek library feel to it. 3 doors of cold bombers and singles with another 4-sided rack of singles available. Great selection of bombers (domestic and import). Prices seemed pretty reasonable. Again not sure if any single beer can be broken out of 6-pack (I’m assuming no). If this place let’s you pull singles, then it would be the best in the region for sure and I’ll adjust my rating. Still the best spot in Evansville for bottles. Also check their facebook page for monthly beer tastings. |
72 /100 Varsity Liquors (Beer Store) 687 N GREEN RIVER ROAD Big spacious space with a very clean and minimalist feel. Everything was neatly arranged. Craft beer selection was pretty good, but only 2 doors of singles. There were a good amount of 6 packs I wanted to try, but didn’t look like you could break up 6 packs to try things. Pretty good selection of Indiana beers, prices were OK I thought. Not bad. Compared to other places in Owensboro or Evansville amount of craft beer was a touch below average. |
80 /100 Winetree Liquors East (Beer Store) 1951 WASHINGTON AVE Doesn’t look like much on the exterior, but once you’re inside they’ve got a nice selection. 3 Floyds, Hoppin Frog, Mikkeller, and Struise to name a few. Friendly staff. I left with 6 or 7 bottles. Glad I made the stop. |
80 /100 Winetree Liquors East (Beer Store) 1951 WASHINGTON AVE Staff were friendly and helpful, and the store itself has one of the best selections in the area.Definitely worthwhile! |
70 /100 Winetree Liquors East (Beer Store) 1951 WASHINGTON AVE Pretty legit spot and best I have been to in Evansville. Friendly service, decent selection of local beers and imports and prices were reasonable. |
62 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH Not terribly different from the other LL I visited in the western part of the city, but this store seemed run down. Service was not craft beer focused. Decent selection with 3 Floyds being the biggest draw. Unfortunately not many other craft beer options in Evansville. |
64 /100 Liquor Locker - West Evansville (Beer Store) 306 N ST. JOSEPH AVE Across the street from the hotel, so stopped in. Selection was solid with quite a bit of 3 floyds and I got a long time want, so that was cool. Service was friendly and chatty. |
70 /100 Gerst Bavarian Haus (Restaurant) 2100 W. FRANKLIN A nice German restaurant with a solid beer list and I finally got to try Bell’s Wild One here, which was a nice surprise. They had 2 pre-defined flights, but would not allow create your own flights. The food was good, but I was hoping for better. Prices were reasonable and the service was fine though I assume more knowledgeable at the bar while I was in the restaurant part of the building. |
74 /100 Winetree Liquors East (Beer Store) 1951 WASHINGTON AVE Small place with a decent beer selection. Good to get a few beers from Clown Shoes and 3 Floyds. Prices are ok, but they’re high everywhere. Friendly staff and beer tastings on Fridays! Cool place. |
78 /100 Liquor Locker - West Evansville (Beer Store) 306 N ST. JOSEPH AVE Located next several retail businesses in a busy area off the Expy. Several cooler doors of craft, quite a few which were singles and bombers. They also had some warm bombers on a small stand. Among the better/best selection for make-your-own-six-packs I’ve seen, pretty good bottle shop all around. |
76 /100 Liquor Locker West/USI Area (Beer Store) 4920 UNIVERSITY DR Off the Expy on a side road near the college campus. Several cooler doors of craft with 2 for singles. Two shelves of bombers. Good amount of local beers mixed in. Good bottle shop, definitely seems like it serves the local college well. |
80 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET Nice place with a separate bar area where you must be 21 to enter. TV’s on in the bar area. Visitors WIFI. Parking was a chore we arrived right at lunch. Which indicates it is a good place to eat. Beer selection is ok. They were out of one beer on there list. That is always a downer for me. The beers were all solid in my opinion and pretty much on style. All were clean and good. You should stop by if you are in the area. I will |
68 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH Not as big of a selection as I was hoping for. Found some nice beers though. All the singles were cold but had a good variety. |
78 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET Good pizza and beer. First stop of my Evansville brewery tour. All but one of the beers were very good. Will be back. |
62 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH definitely not a service oriented store. |
82 /100 Winetree Liquors East (Beer Store) 1951 WASHINGTON AVE you can find several different breweries beers here that you can’t find anywhere else in the tri-state. Clown Shoes, Sun King, Hoppin Frog, etc. |
82 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH best craft beer selection in the tri-state area. they’ll let you mix a 6 pk with almost any single 12 oz beer (individually priced) |
94 /100 Gerst Bavarian Haus (Restaurant) 2100 W. FRANKLIN Now with 49 beers on tap.. You are guaranteed to find something new, and something you like..
Great old building.. Very cool.
And if you go before 3, Paul the bartender definitely knows his stuff |
84 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH Decent selection, especially of local and Indiana beers. I like the single bottles and make your own six options. Very helpful and friendly staff. |
70 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH Decent store with a fair selection of beers. Have the local Tin Man beers and a decent selection of locals and other craft beers. Nice store. |
72 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET Stopped for a night in Evansville and this place seemed popular and well reviewed on Yelp. Ordered their IPA and shared a appetizer and small pizza with my wife. Food and beer were pretty good, good service too. Small town feel to the place. Left with a pint glass of their goofy logo. No regret checking this place out. |
82 /100 Kwik Liquor (Beer Store) 1932 N GREEN RIVER RD Beautiful looking store since they’ve remodeled. I was greeted with a friendly young gentleman that helped me find what I was looking for. They have 6 packs galore, but their single selection is lacking. I was also suprised to hear that they’ll do special orders on anything that’s available in Indiana. Overall, this is a place I plan on shopping often. |
78 /100 Gerst Bavarian Haus (Restaurant) 2100 W. FRANKLIN Nice restaurant with great food. I love the German music in the background. Creates a nice athmosphere. Good beer selection also. |
76 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH Depending on which location you are at makes it different as far as selection. You might be able to find a lot of FFF at one location and only a few at another. Pretty good as far as selection, the make your own six pack selection was pretty good. Good store, although it did seem there was a lot of space that could have been used for more products. |
78 /100 Varsity Liquors (Beer Store) 687 N GREEN RIVER ROAD Ambiance and service was pretty good. Selection was good, well thought out although not extensive. Quality was pretty good. Good store overall. |
64 /100 Frontier Liquors (Beer Store) 865 S GREEN RIVER ROAD Decent six pack selection, both cold and warm. Kind of a warehouse atmosphere. Not bad, didn’t have any single bottles, only the six packs. |
78 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET Nice brewpub with a hometown feel. Beers are well-made. Food is standard pizzeria fare but good - the pizzas we had were very good. A great place for the area. |
98 /100 Winetree Liquors North (Beer Store) 4201 N FIRST AVE A duplicate from the other winetree but still highest marks in Evansville |
88 /100 Gerst Bavarian Haus (Restaurant) 2100 W. FRANKLIN One of my favorite restaurants in Evansville. The beer selection often rotated and vast. The food is DELICIOUS! |
62 /100 Frontier Liquors (Beer Store) 865 S GREEN RIVER ROAD Decent selections at times. Many limited releases (if they get them) hang around on their shelves longer than other stores in town. |
80 /100 Varsity Liquors (Beer Store) 687 N GREEN RIVER ROAD Great flow of products and interior look. Most of the staff know their stuff. Selection on spirits and wine is vast though craft brews are not as extensive. Prices are a little higher. |
80 /100 Old Chicago (Evansville) (Restaurant) 6550 EAST LLOYD EXPRESSWAY Love the look and interior, love the large beer selection and the World Beer Tour. Food is delicious though value for what you pay is a little high. Sometimes service is fantastic, other times it’s basic. |
72 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET Food and value get high marks, service can be hit or miss as it can be anywhere....the selection is where the marks are lower, but understandably so. Their in-house brews are mostly outstanding and I see why they would want you to focus on those. |
66 /100 Liquor Locker (Beer Store) 300 N. WEINBACH Decent selection, decent prices, decent location |
98 /100 Winetree Liquors East (Beer Store) 1951 WASHINGTON AVE The staff and selection are top notch! If they don’t have something you want, they will do their best to find it and get it to the store. Great prices and specials. I love this place! |
68 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET Solid beer and pizza. Some say it’s the best pizza in the state but I don’t think that’s really the case. Regardless, I wish they placed more emphasis on the beer and had more variety/seasonals. About the only brewery in the area and well worth a visit. |
100 /100 Varsity Liquors (Beer Store) 687 N GREEN RIVER ROAD Largest Liquor Store in Evansville. |
66 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET It’s great that Evansville has a brew pub! Not much in the way of Ambiance here. Movie posters on the wall, old timey advertisements. I’m not a fan of St.Louis style pizza, but if you are you will like the pie just fine. The beer is ok. Vinny’s lager taste like it could come from a can. The smoked porter is as advertised. Smokey malt and light hops. The IPA is nice, but lacks any complexity. The brews are all decent , but not amazing. If you find yourself in the Evansville area you should check it out. |
60 /100 Varsity Liquors (Beer Store) 687 N GREEN RIVER ROAD A fairly well organized and well lit store that has a fair amount of Indiana micros and a few imports. If in a bind for some good beer while in the Evansville area this place will have something for just about any beer geek. Also a pretty nice selection of liquors and wines as well. |
74 /100 408 N. MAIN STREET The place looks and feels like an old time saloon and is a bit dark inside. Our service was prompt and accurate. While the beers is nothing to rave about, it was not drain pours either. The pizza was very good and this from someone who is not a fan of thin crust pizza. I went there with the other 4 guys on my bowling team (during the state tourney), all of whom are not beer geeks. All liked the beer and pizza very much. So all in all a good stop if in town, I would go back again. |
