100 /100 WILKINSON ROAD, MURTHO Established in an 1880s woolshed with lots of character, Woolshed Brewing sits on the bank of the River Murray, so close you can moor your boat and hop off into the bar. Inside with its slatted floors it looks like an old woolshed while outside the large deck overlooks the river. At the bar six taps pour their own beers while there are two non-beer alcoholic drinks available also. Tasters (4 x 200ml at $25) are available and are 'themed' with four set beers and one own-choice. Takeaway is sold in either single, six pack or carton. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Meals are not available however local produce on sale gives you options as to what to create in the way of a snack (or bring your own and use the BBQ). The venue and setting is worth visiting as to me this is the quintessential Aussie pub - set on the river with pelicans and views of the bush with noisy corellas. If you are with 'cooee' then a visit is a must! |
72 /100 WILKINSON ROAD, MURTHO As far as a venue it is simply stunning. Overlooks the Murray river. Beautiful setting. Great outside deck that overlooks the river. Inside is almost a classic Australian pup. Corrugated steel and wood. Very rustic but very cool.
No food just stuff like cheese, dips, nibbles, etc. had 8 beers on tap. Tried 2. Both reasonable and takeaway prices were good. Good service overall and as far as a venue it is worth seeing. One of the better venues in Australia |
