“This is a big barn type space which is mainly restaurant with brewery down one side and a long bar at the end. The service was friendly but a little hit and miss. They had eight of their own beers on tap and a selection of bottles, with only one beer in addition to those on tap. Tasting flights, including eight beers for $15, were available. All the beers were ok to good, although none stood out. The more interesting beers were not available. The food was disappointing and rather expensive.“

“Mudgee is one of my favourite country towns in NSW and I wish I could find more positives about this place. It’s a high-ceilinged barn of a place on the edge of the town centre that was stinking hot in summer and I suspect pretty hard to heat in winter. The kettles down one side of the bar/dining area deliver what little ambiance there is to be found in what is otherwise a bit of a mini aircraft hangar. The service was bright and friendly, as is pretty much everyone in Mudgee. The tasting platters are fairly priced at four for $7 or six for $12. However, the overall brewing standard is poor and the two specialty brews that I hoped to try were both off on the day we visited. If anything, the beers produced here seem to have deteriorated over the years, I’m sad to say. Pity because the central west is crying out for a standard bearer.“
