“Visited during Ducasse de Mons 2023 so only outside drinking in plastic cups. They had a BBP NEIPA on tap and a Borinage IPA next to Sangria etc. Inside looked tiny, wine and beer bar mix, some interesting cans visible in the fridge behind the bar. Veggie hot dogs for sale and sign on the door says vegan friendly, should revisit on a regular day.“

“Visited during Ducasse de Mons 2023 so the inside was taken up by a fanfare band. Only pilsner of unknown possibly Borinage origin on tap outdoors in plastic cups so I should revisit. Normally has Borinage, La Source and a slew of Walloon craft breweries unknown to me.“

“Visited during Ducasse de Mons 2023. Took place on the terrace, view is great obviously with the Grand Place in front of you. Draft menu is Paix Dieu, Jupiler, Leffe, Triple Karmeliet so fairly crap. Prices are okay for location for sure. Plenty of crappy looking coctails available. Orval on the bottle menu but otherwise also largely rubbish. Good for the view.“

“About 15-20 minutes walk from the station away from the city center. Located in one of those Pizza Hut / Quick / cinema / carpark complexes. This place is big boasting a 100 people terrace where we took place, you can still see the Belfry but the view is otherwise a parking lot largely. You see the brewery upon entering. Menu is Dubuisson and their own beer, there are fixed flights, multiple sizes for pours going up to 3 liters. Large menu with a limited number of vegetarian options, no vegan ones. Tried their 4 beers which were as bland an inoffensive a possible, their version of Cuvée de Trolls (impressively bland for a strong Belgian), oak chips aged (sweet), lemon (Radler-like but blander) and a very sweet strong amber. Beer, feel, service feels like maximum turnover and little else. Large gamma of beers available from magnums to a G-string.“

“Visited last Saturday with my girlfriend. Situated outside of the city centre (be prepared for a long walk if you're going by foot), in an artificially designed zone for food next to the motorway, a zone also housing a McDonald's and a Pizza Hut, which says enough - this brewpub is quite a characterless, impersonal affair housed in an ugly industrial-looking building and aiming at tourists and passers-by from the motorway I guess. The whole business is owned by Dubuisson, like the other Brasse-Temps in La Louvière, so it comes as no surprise that the entire Dubuisson beer range is available, next to the beers brewed at the spot, which are very obviously meant to be as simple and accessible as possible to a traditionally Belgian palate. We were seated in the outdoors part - but weirdly, you need to wait at the counter when entering the building, for someone of the staff to come and assign you a spot. Two of the three staff members we had contact with were friendly, the third one was just mindlessly doing his job and thinking about something else I guess, while unable to produce even the slightest form of smile. The food was decent without being anything special, but on a positive note, far from expensive. In all: very impersonal affair, aiming at nothing else but making money, and in that sense perfectly in line with its even more soulless American capitalist neighbors.“

“Family-owned, spacious, well-maintained and attractive drinks centre near the Mons city centre; tastefully decorated, with the beers displayed in a neat way, arranged per brewery. Prices are fair and service was friendly, if a bit slow. Boasts a lot of beers from local, unknown micro breweries and contract brewers, many of which I hadn't even heard of before; for that reason alone, this was worth the trip to Mons. Recommended if you are looking for rare, small and new Walloon beers, which you can even drink on the spot, as recently they have apparently installed a tasting corner with cooler. A pleasant discovery for me and one I will certainly revisit at least once a year, if not more.“

“Visited on 30/05/2018. Been there at lunch time, nice weather so we could eat outside. Beer list has not that much special for beer geeks but is quite OK for a place like this. I could get sauce made with La montoise beer, so that was nice too. So not that very special, but however a nice beer list for a restaurant.“

“Un brasseur familial, qui possède une très belle sélection de bière régionales mais aussi de superbe bières telles les gueuzes de Cantillon, de Tilquin et la Gouden Carolus Blauw, et des bières locales telles ques Dupont, Blaugies où l’abbaye des Rocs. Sans hésiter le vendeur de bières le plus complet dans la région de Mons“

“Mons on New Years Day 2012; stopped overnight on the way home from Luxembourg and popped into four of the establishments around the Grand Place: this was where we ate. The name gives the game away somewhat, this bar is a Carlesberg outlet; in fact it majors on Carlesberg taps with only a Kasteel Brown stopping it being completely predestrian and boring. The whole place is very bright, tidy and clean, toilets upstairs, a choice of stairways, one a tight spiral design, the other wider and straighter, more tables are laid out up there too. When we entered it was fairly quiet and were able to choose almost anywhere to sit, but it began to fill up at around 18.00 with most people ordering food. My wife and I shared two 0.75 litre bottles, one a Moinette Blond the other a St Feullien Blond, both were in fine fettle: sadly these were the only large bottles on the menu. Our food was very good; I had some large prawns and the wife a chicken pasta dish. Service was fine, attentive without being obtrusive and even when it began to fill up and they started to turn people away (not everywhere was open, it was New Years Day remember) we didn’t feel as if we were rushed or unwanted. In fact I think we were a novelty as we have no French and spoke only in English, they wanted the practise. I suppose you could call the interior and fittings ‘plush,’ it was certainly the smartest bar we found during our stop: this was our second port of call and we were glad that we decided to eat here as the other three places were just bars really.“

“Please do not use this place: read on for the reasons. Mons on New Years Day 2012; stopped overnight on the way home from Luxembourg and popped into four of the establishments around the Grand Place. It is now 22.00 and our evening had been going really well: this bar is on the corner that leads back to our hotel; we saw it earlier and decided to use it for our night caps. On entering you notice how bright it is, steps lead down to a lower level with a neat looking bar, we sat near the bar with its brewing kettle lidded roof, the place is almost full, with people at every table; we were lucky to get our place, or were we? I asked if it was OK to use English, as I normally do if I can’t speak the local language, I don’t do French: the young chap in his bright yellow shirt and tie said he had good English. I ordered a Quintine Blonde (from Ellezelloise) on tap, it was well advertised around the bar and appeared to be the only draught beer available: the wife ordered one as well, along with a bottle of still water. When the guy returned he served me my lovely looking beer: my wife got an OXO cube in boiling water with two small pieces of toast. My wife and I looked at each other; smiled and wondered if they were taking the piss: it was cold outside, so the wife excepted the OXO and I had the toast pieces with my beer, the OXO and toast cost less than the beer, I checked the menu to make sure they weren’t trying to rip us off. I enjoyed my beer and ordered another, different beer, this time a bottle of Montagnarde from Abbaye des Rocs, the wife now warm inside, asks for a glass of Ros~e wine, there was a choice of two: my bottle and glass arrive as requested but my good lady watched the barman pour her wine into a glass, he realised there wasn’t enough wine in the bottle to fill the glass, so he wandered over to the draught wine taps and tops up my wife’s Ros~e with draught white wine. She was not impressed, but we’d been drinking in three bars already, we have no French language, and we didn’t want to cause a situation we couldn’t control; we certainly were not drunk but it wasn’t the time or the place if you know what I mean: so we supped up and left, leaving no tip. “

“Mons on New Years Day 2012; stopped overnight on the way home from Luxembourg and popped into four of the establishments around the Grand Place: this was our third venture into Mons’s beer bars. Long and thin with raised tables for two on the right, the bar taking up almost all of the left hand side. Modern without really trying, it doesn’t ooze ‘friendly boozer’ or ‘warmth,’ it just has a large beer list: which is why we went in! Cold outside, no tables and chairs out front: those inside were almost all empty, the locals had over done the night before, the young man fronting the place confirmed this and said he wouldn’t have got out of bed either if it hadn’t been his shift! The place was too quiet really, it was 21.00 on New Years Day though: so I had two quick beers, the wife one and we left him with a couple of his mates who looked like death warmed up: I’m sure they were all pleased to see us leave so they could lie down and whine a little. I didn’t think the tap choice was overly impressive, I had a draught ‘Binchoise Biere des Ours’ while perusing the bottled list, ordering a 0.33 cl Silly beer: La Divine. Both beers were fine, the wife had a bottle of still water. Caught the place on a bad day, beers were fine, it just lacked everything else a good beer bar should have. “

“Visited several times in mid-August 2011. This cafe on the main square has the best selection of beer in Mons including some local beers hard to find anywhere else. In good weather you can sit outside and watch the kids play in the computer-controlled fountains. I ordered a steak and it came completely raw on a heated stone so you can cook it yourself to your liking. A must if you’re in Mons.“

“Visited 17 Aug 2011. Not greatly impressed with this place. Bit of a conveyor line feel to it. The brews made at the brewpub don’t seem to be clearly delineated from the regular Dubuisson beer and the prices were quite high. I had 3 beers which I took to be made on premises and Cuvee des Trolls and none were too exciting. The service was okay but my mixed grill turned out to be a rather skimpy kebab. Although it is in Mons, it seems it is best to take a car or cab out to it as it is a long walk to town. Might be a bus service, I don’t know.“

“This is a Microbrewery, bar and restaurant. They brew on site beers like La cuvée des Trolls, and other Bush/Scaldis beers. Its a really fun place to go for a drink or a nice fun dinner. The food is good and not to expensive, the staff is very friendly, but the place can get full at times. You can also buy the Bush/Scaldis Prestige and De Nuits there, but there are always very limited quatities. You can also order the "Rafale" which is a board with 4 of the beers brewed there.“

“Stopped in here for a drink after dinner yesterday. Not too impressed with anything. Service was slow, of course, with what looked like one waiter serving about 8 people inside and 50 outside. Selection was lacking with most beers here being found anywhere and even in a grocery store. I had a Belle Vue Kriek. They have all Trappists except Westy but all of those are easy to find. Go to Mons and the Grand Place for the scenery and not the beer. At least in this place.“

“This is a nice little bar in Mons. The staff is a little slow, but the menu makes up for it. All beers are served in the proper glasses and the music is mostly 80’s. Had a nice relaxing evening with my friends. Since I will be here at least one more night, I will probably be back tomorrow.“
