“Large place with plenty of dinning space and party rooms. has a rooftop beer garden area. Decent beers on tap, tasty food, friendly folks behind the bar. big screen TVs everywhere, Country music was playing. Military Vet owned.“

“First time visit since the Home Run Inn change over. Sports bar vibe, friendly, decent food, okay beer selection, but loved the patio, especially after the sun goes down, and the "fire trough" is lit.“

“An example of a brewery that might have been successful 10 years ago that seems out of place today. Hidden in an industrial area it is a very thrown-together type vibe. No formal bar, office chairs and kitchen tables, plastic cups. It was quite empty in there and the bartender seemed lonely. The beers ranged form mediocre to bad which isn't a good sign for this young brewery.“

“I visited this place purely on the off-chance whilst in Chicago. Coming from the UK, seeing a "craft beer pub" I thought it would be your usual run of the mill American bars but was pleasantly surprised by the place. Friendly locals and super-friendly owner who gave us a free glass and t-shirt (much appreciated!). I can highly recommend the place, and it was a good indication of a decent bar when it was quite busy during the day. Ale selection is good and as a Brit who isn't a fan of the usual hoppy American IPAs there were plently of alternatives - they even sell gueuze which is highly unusual to find outside Belgium. Thumbs up from me - at last the colonies are catching up on how beer should be brewed!“

“Decent place, nice staff, very mixed crowd. Good selection but the time we went nothing on tap was less than 8%, hopefully the selection is mixed a little better in the future. Good food offerings.“

“Small place with a bar, high and low tables. the beer is the thing here - good selection of craft beers on tap and many bottles. Quite a varied selection. The only food is pizza and flatbreads which were well prepared but not cheap and there wasn’t much of a selection.

Servie was friendly and fairly quick. The waitress brought me the wrong change and walked off but it wasn’t worth chasing her down over.

i would love a bar like this in my neighborhood and would visit it often, but as a destination it falls short and you shouldn’t go too far out of your way to visit.“

“Selection was a bit lacking - I inquired about the cases of Bourbon County and Sucaba sitting on top of the shelves and basically got laughed at (they were empty). Did find one guy who pointed me in the direction of one of their other stores that supposedly has a better selection. I never made it over there.“

“Loved the vibe here. Service was a bit spotty, especially after they got really busy. Happened to go on Wednesday Trivia Night which was fun. Had a Bruery Sucre on tap which was delicious.“

“Great store with a large selection. Great Divide, Dogfish, Flying Dog, Firestone Walker, and so on. Dale and Tim have a great knowledge of beer, and were making some great suggestions. Store is warehouse style with concrete floors and metal shelves.“

“Impressive selection of beer and wine. Plenty of imported and craft brews. Wine selection is extensive, and if they don’t have it, ask and they’ll try to get it for you. Very knowledgeable staff. Whatever question you have there is someone who can answer it for you. They even have a wine club! Not much on ambience, but they do have little perks like a bottle chiller and frequent tastings.“

“This is my favorite local place. It reminds me of an ideal man cave. Very friendly owner, manager and employees. Knowledgeable. This also seems to be a favorite place for local industry sales reps. Not. Ly do they like to come her to sell, they like to hang here’s too. Always meet friendly and informative beer folks here. I don’t think I’ve ever been here where the tap selection is not significantly changed and I go in fairly often. They constantly rotate their offerings. Also interesting collaborations as well as tap takeovers. Experimenting with and expanding their food offerings. I could hang here every day if my check liver light would stop going off.“

“Nice. Great selection of draft beers and rotating taps make this place a must hit if you are in the burbs of Chicago. Not much else out there so to find this gem was really fortunate. Knowledgeable staff who truly love craft beers and know their beers and breweries. Food is excellent but could use a bit more selection. Overall, a keeper!“

“One of the few places I get excited to go to. They have a rotating list of draft, bottled, and can beers and keep their list updated on beermenus.com. When I see a couple beers I wanna check out I’ll order a beer flight. You get to pick 5 beers on draft and they’ll sever you 6oz of each for $15. A great deal when one 9oz - 12oz glass can possibly cost you $9. The place is great if you like places that are small and mellow but there are some days it can get cramped. They’ll play sports on the tv and every once in a while they’ll have live music. There’s board games and even bags if you want to do something while you’re there. Other than craft beers, there’s quite a selection of wines. The food is also quite good but it’s sort of a catch22. At a place like this it’s surprising to get a tiny pizza for $12 and they don’t offer anything cheaper just to nibble on. Anyways, if you’re only interested in craft beers and want to enjoy it with friends there’s no other place like this in the area.“

“I had a later afternoon flight out, and a meeting on this side of town and wanted to visit Lunar brewing. To kill time, I hit a few of the local bottle shops listed in the area. Warehouse style liquor store, though not overly big. Beer is on three and a half huge racks, and some in coolers. The better beer is kept warm, and I would worry about turnover but the selection is really solid. They don’t single anything out, but if you live in the area I am sure this is a part of your regular rotation. Service was friendly, decent store. They had a nice super clean public bathroom, which you rarely see at bottle shops. I visited this location prior to visiting the Elmhurst location. It is SPOOKY how similar the two stores are. During my visit to the second store, I honestly thought I had circled back to this location. Wild.

76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Honest self evaluation. We are 6 months new and hopefully we can start drawing in more of the crowd that appreciates quality beer now that we have 50+ beers! Take care.“

“I drove into the lot and thought I had misdirected myself, since the building looked just like the store in Elmhurst. Inside, the layout was identical, even to the placement of the beers in the aisles by country, microbrew, et cetera. In all fairness, I’m giving this the same rating as the other Sal’s. Sadly, tho’, since I had been in Elmhurst recently, they had nothing new to offer today.“

“had lots of stuff from different countries, but somehow i wasn’t particalarly impressed. strangely enough, i was looking for barleywines and only saw 1. i think. anyways, my friend got a half barrel of 2 hearted ale from here, so that’s cool. otherwise, there’s pretty much no reason i’d ever drive all the way out there. i’m not gonna list what i saw, but zeswaft’s description is accurate still as of june 10“

“A warehouse type store with naked ceilings and concrete floors, metal shelving a la Home Depot. Quite large. Located in what seems to be a largely hispanic area. A pain to get to because of massive Lake St. construction. Luckily, this place has quite a huge selection of beers amongst other things. A large but standard selection of Europeans, mostly germans. A fairly good selection of belgians including Rochefort 10 and 8. Most micros are regional...full line of Bells, most great lakes, all goose island...standard bombers from avery and bear republic. Pretty much anything out by Dogfish head including Au Courant. Mega finds include Peche Mortel for $20 and an empty shelf of 120 Minute. Prices were good in some areas and a lot in others...cheap SN...three floyds at $8.5...prices
