80 /100 1059 WEST ORCHARD RD. Bigger than I thought on the inside, nice vibe. Patrons and staff were nice. Drinkable selection of ales, all to style that we tried. Like the Coffee Brown ale the best. Order some food from vendor truck just outside, will go back to this place again |
94 /100 2000 W. ORCHARD ROAD Stopped at this uniquely structured gastropub & brewery to finally visit the head brewer, Bob S., who was a past brew club compatriot of mine, and sample his offerings, but was also highly impressed by everything else, e.g., the green house, on site herbs & produce, hop farm, butcher & cheese shop, and the extensive collection of various whiskeys & wines. Arrived early afternoon, with a minimal crowd, and although there was plentiful, tented patio seating, the outside temperature dictated seating at a table in the bar room. Appointments were tastefully distressed wood & glass, decorative bar & bottle display, with a kind of dinner club feel, and excellent jazz playing in the background. Friendly & attentive service, a varied charcuterie board, and platter of wood grilled bread, along with a variety of Bob's solid beer offerings made the experience memorable. |
62 /100 Woodman’s Foods - North Aurora (Grocery Store) 151 HANSEN BLVD Not the best Woodmans but still being able to buy singles and Mix A Six is worth the stop. A decent selection but nothing I saw that you could not get elsewhere. |
76 /100 Raimondo’s (Restaurant) 1033 KILBERY LN Very good rotating bottle craft beer selection. The owner is a beer expert, answering any questions and suggests beer choices or food pairings. Food is pretty good. Mostly pizza with tons of varieties. Nice place to chill and try out a new beer. |
52 /100 Woodman’s Foods - North Aurora (Grocery Store) 151 HANSEN BLVD Good stop. Just moved to town first place I went for beer. Large 6 pack selection. Not all encompassing but large ...somebombers available too. Singles are for sale but not there full inventory. No one to help only cashier. Also no glassware. Only red solo cups! And clear... Good stop good value |
96 /100 Raimondo’s (Restaurant) 1033 KILBERY LN Small family owned pizza and pub. Pizza is absolutely great. Great sauce. Pasta is very good as well. Family atmosphere. Gluten free beers and food. Huge craft beer selection. Mike the owner consistently is changing his product line but always keeps what his customers want to have in stock. |
70 /100 Woodman’s Foods - North Aurora (Grocery Store) 151 HANSEN BLVD Wide variety of selections, ok prices. I like that you can buy singles. |
66 /100 Woodman’s Foods - North Aurora (Grocery Store) 151 HANSEN BLVD Large liquor store attached to the grocery store, with a separate entrance. The selection here is good, not great with a lot of good common craft brews but nothing to make you want to go out of your way. I can’t rate the service too high as I’ve never seen anyone working aside from the cashiers. Not a destination but a solid stop for beer. Prices better than Sams or Binnys. |
