“Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Nice area, lots of parking on the downtown streets. Decent sized bar, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There are several nearby restaurants that will bring food to you. We sampled all beers on tap, all were decent to very good. Something for everyone. They also serve other adult drinks. Well worth the stop.“

“Nice looking place in a small town Main Street type of area. The building itself looked historic but the interior was all new. Lots of attention to detail, many places to sit inside, outside, on a patio or balcony. The server was great and happy to tell us about other must see places in the area. The beer was good, they had about 8 selections on tap, full bar with some hard to find bourbons too. No food, but there are several options on the block. I highly recommend this place.“

“Another link in the Southern Illinois Beer Trail and it is another good one! My wife and I stopped in on the 4th of July which was only a few days after their opening. Liefer is the name of the owners / brewer and, I am told it means bringer or one who delivers. The name means Bringer of the Brew. This is almost dead center of downtown in a very old building that they rehabbed. They did a really good job of it, too. Farming is the theme and it works well in this small town. The owners were Chris and Danielle and they could not have been nicer. They were very much involved in serving their customers and were beyond friendly. When you enter from the front you walk into the bar area and the downstairs seating area is very close by. There is more seating upstairs which also houses a couple of very cool outside areas and the brewing equipment. A large and very nice bier garten is in back and it looks like an awesome space. Actually, the whole place looks awesome. No food is available but you can bring it in and there are at least 4 options within a hundred yards. These include a BBQ place and a baker. I was looking to try their beer and did not look to see if they had guest taps. I did see some whiskey offerings, though. Perhaps like Stubborn German in Waterloo. If my rating score is lowered it is because of selection. However, again, I was looking for Lieferbrau beer so was quite satisfied. They had about a dozen of their own beers on tap and all were brewed on site. They tended to be German themed and I thought the Pilsner was outstanding with the Alt and their Dunkel runner-ups. All of them were quite good with no weak offerings that I found. They do samplers which consist of 4 beers. I got a couple of those. Can't wait to return to watch them progress.“
