“Place was within walking distance from where I was staying for a week on business. Ate here most nights because it was quiet and designed not to cram in customers. Classic Irish pub decor but more than expected food selections. Nice selection of beers and whiskeys.“

“This is an incredibly dingy store near the airport. The cashier and owners are shaking alcoholics. The only reason to pop in every once in a while is to grab obscure imports that the local distributors are trying to unload from their inventory.“

“A few blocks from my hotel (although crossing Higgins Road just after rush hour is an adventure). Huge place, absolutely mobbed at my visit (Cubs game on). Service was troublesome. Bartender was friendly, but refused to let me try all the beers. I had to pick one sampler (all the house beers) or the other (the seasonals). The seasonals (impy saison, wit, Belgian IPA) were all decent, but as you can imagine, a bit safe. I’d like to stop by when its a little slower. Not worth going out of your way but I’m glad to finally stop by one of their locations.“

“STALE BEER ALERT!!!! Tried to buy about 6 different things before I found one that was not past its date. Ducked my head in here because its a few blocks from my hotel. Dingy place, stale beer, mediocre customer service. Seems like hell, right? Well this store does one thing very well. Sure, they’re probably all stale, but I’ve never seen as complete a collection of the terrible Lithuanian beers. There’s a ton of Polish lagers. A smattering of other countries... I saw Ukraine and Bulgarian beers. And Chile which is a new one for me. Woot! Most things are very much overpriced. No wonder they sit on the shelves. Absolutely not worth going out of your way but if you’re in one of the nearby hotels...“

“Decent enough sports bar with a brewpub habit. Had 10 things available on my visit, and I tried all of them. Most were below average, but the IPL and stout were surprisingly good. Decent sized crowd for a Monday night with football on. Not a bad spot, kinda like any Rock Bottom, GB, etc.“

“Typical American sports bar decor. Quite a big place. Friendly service, but not too aquinted with origin of their beers, but OK. Had their curl with 6 beers and service came with 3 more tasters. OK!! Pleasant stay. Food selection and taste is typical, not bad.“

“This restaurant was so cool and nice that I had to go back a second time. The ambiance is of a really laid-back sports pub with an upscale feel. They had about 40 beers on draft, included quite a bit of local micros, like Goose Island, Two Brothers, Half Acre, Lagunitas, etc. The selection was outrageous. If you can’t find a beer to enjoy here, you won’t find one anywhere. The animal tots were amazing; tater tots with pulled pork, cheese, German-style mustard, beer gravy and a fried egg. Absolutely delicious. The linguine diablo was great too. The service was outstanding and the restaurant is extremely easy to find. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the Chicago and staying in the Rosemont area.“

“Stopped in for lunch and my cousin was behind the bar. Lots of house brews on tap. Regulars and seasonals. Location is a bit strange but free parking garage. Beers are varied, I’m sure you can find one you like.“

“Stopped in with some fellow Cavaliers. Grabbed the taster and tried all they had. Good selection for what they brew on site. Place was very busy when we went, but the service was always around when we were empty. Plenty of TV’s in the bar and seating. Food was very tasty - but a little expensive. Good stop in, I would go back.“

“wow, some unbelieable negativity surrounding this place. my experience was not nearly so bad. the food was definately up to snuff. i had a turkey sandiwch with havarti cheese and avacado on toast. it was excellent the cole slaw that accompanied it was actually NOT overdressed with mayonaise and also contained some fresh herbs. the service was attentive but certainly did not share my excitement for beer, which youd imagine they should since they work in a damn brew pub! still, i dont care for their knowledge at any rate. i drank only the porter and it was certainly drinkable at the very least. unfortunately it was served ice cold and even then poured into iced glasses. its not so shocking that they would serve beer this way considering their usual customers, but if they brew their own stuff youd think they not want to insult it as such. i felt that there might have been some interesting notes in that porter but they were buried under an igloo. i half considered asking the barkeep to pour me two at once, and letting the second warm throughly while i drank the first. before the beer nerd blurs your vision further, lets keep in mind that there is not a resturant with its own brand of beer on every corner. and i really dont see who gives a damn about if the place has ’yuppies’ sitting next to you. and the last thing i need is a bartender or waiter outside of hopleaf telling me anything about beer. i would return to the ram no doubt, i hear they have specials on growler refills that are extremely reasonable.“

“This place pissed me off. They made us pay for our meal in advance. What the hell is that? The excuse they gave was that they make everybody pay in advance due to proximity to rosemont horizon. The problem with that excuse is that we watched every other table seated after us over the age of 30 NOT pay in advance. So, screw the ram. They can ram it up their a$$es.“

“This brewpub leans toward pale ales and wheat brews. The only dark ale on the menu was a porter. (I personally prefer IPA’s, porters, and strong ales.) They serve comfort food, steaks, burgers, marinated in sauce. The beer itself is good but not great. Great service. Good beer and good food.“

“This is an average Ram location that’s convenient to get to from O’hare. There’s a sports bar area, and I stayed in the non-smoking dining room. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The beers were average chain brewpub fare with a couple good ones. Service was solid as well. This is a very good stop, especially if you have a layover.“

“A great, convenient place to stop in if you are staying in the O’Hare area. RAM’s beer is better than most chain type microbrewpubs, but not all that creative or noteworthy. Their food is actually pretty good however. Taken together, RAM could be an oasis depending on your options...“

“Clean, decent chow, poor beer. The bonus is that there’s a decent little liquor store across the street with a good singles selection. Attentive barkeeps.“

“Stumbled on this place during my lunch hour (AMA training class). It was very crowded and had a sports bar feel. We sat in the bar area. BIG bar with lot of TV’s. They were clearly understaffed this day but the service staff did their best and we did not wait too long. The food is certainly not in the healthy vein but is significantly more substantial than your usual sports bar fair. We had steak sandwiches and meat loaf sandwiches, both of which were very good and filling (I did not eat dinner that night). They had 6 regular beers on tap and 3 seasonals. While none of their beers were particularly memorable, none were bad. All drinkable brews in a good variety. I don’t think you’d find a better place out by O’Hare airport for microbrews.“

“A nice bar area to watch a game or something with multiple screens behind the big horseshoe bar. Attentive staff and fairly unimpressive, but decent beer. After we moved to a table from the bar our waitress was excellent, and she threw in one of each of their seasonals with the samplers we ordered - the size of the drinks in the sampler seemed even smaller than the advertised 3oz’s though. Food was disappointing, and a little overpriced. You’re probably not going to do much better in this area.“

“Pretty large place. Cool horseshoe shaped bar. An energy to it, even on the Tues. night I was there. Was it the $2 taps all night or just the place itself? Lots of screens for your sports viewing. However, when we arrived, they had virtually every ballgame on except the Whitesox (go figure). I asked our server. He promptly asked the waitress to change it and came back and told us she was busy but would get to it. It took 10 minutes to get the game changed, but it happened. He also seemed a little annoyed that I assumed the game should be on. Otherwise service was good, although on two occasions, once with food and once with beer, servers took dishes before we were done. Still, don’t let that dissuade you. If you choose your beers wisely, you should find some very drinkable brews, some good food and a good atmosphere.“

“Once you finally get out of the United Center parking lot, this is a hop-skip-and a-jump over to Higgins Road and up about a mile. Also terribly convenient to O’Hare Airport and worth a stop if you have a layover.

Somewhat similar to the Schaumburg location, with a "sports bar" set-up in Smoking and a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere in Non. We sat in Non, in a very comfortable, U-shaped booth that was large enough for 4 of us (and could have possibly held 2 more). Service was a bit dodgy and my wife (an ex-waitress of high caliber) pointed out a number of subtle faux pas that were committed by our server. Noticable errors (by waitstaff and bartenders alike) include serving you the wrong beer about 10% of the time.

Food was very good, and a well-spiced "Ribeye of Fire" really hit the spot. The "Ram Favorites" appetizer platter covered all of our needs.

Beers are better than average for your basic brewpub, but they don’t rotate too quickly. Their Icebreaker Imperial Stout is a must-have and I also recommend their Hefeweizen and Porter.“

“Stopped by during Kerry’s concession speech and walked into a yuppie lunch place. (There’s lots of businesses in the area.) Sat at the bar (a big horseshoe) to try beers, of course. Looked around and saw booths, tall tables with stools. Most of the folk had soda, mixed drinks, or macro piss-waters. The barmaid was friendly, but knew nothing about the beer. They had six of the Big Horn brews on tap, plus four macros. The barmaid would only serve the brews in iced pint glasses, even after I requested otherwise. This made it hard to sample the rather generic beers, apparently designed to appeal to a sports bar crowd. Their IPA was the most drinkable. Only two other folk at the bar were drinking Big Horns, one doing the amber and another drinking the hefeweizen, into which he insisted on crushing at least three lemon slices. This really isn’t much of a real beer drinker’s place.“
