“Guided tour at the brewery. The guide talked more about personal matters than about beer. They only had Lupulus Brune, blond and Hibernatus, beers you can find anywhere. I really hoped to try the rarer beers.“

“Home of Lupulus: Wife driving on Sunday 27th May 2012 (La Chouffe brewery next today). Sat upstairs, outside on one of the balconys overlooking the garden and everybody else who was there: it was sunny and no one wanted to be inside (apart from two old boys who were obviuosly locals). Very modern design with the brew equipment shiney and bright in the sunlight as you enter the courtyard. Then up the stairs to find the bar and staff. Friendly and keen to find out where you’ve come from. Sadly only two brews on tap with no bottles available either, very strange not to find any other beers what-so-ever, their’s or someone else’s. The Lupulus and Lupulus Brune were fine: I just wanted to try more while at this lovely place.“

“Looks may deceive, no better place to illustrate this than Les 3 Fourquets. When you arrive at the place, you drive (or walk) through a big gate, onto a small courtyard. It’s as if entering a castle, everything build in natural stone. The bar / restaurant, is really cosy decorated, nice lighting, wooden furniture, again the natural stone walls, some rococo details (the mirrors). But then. After we sat down, the first thing we noticed, was the really loud house music that was playing. Probably because it was early, before the evening shift of diners, as the staff was pretty busy setting the tables. But that’s no excuse. If you are closed, you can play whatever music you like, if you are open, then you adjust your music and set it to "customer modus". Besides, we weren’t the only customers, there was a pretty large group as well, finishing their drinks when we entered. Then, the selection. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 1, is because I think (!) that besides the tripel, they also had the brune. I’m not even sure. I have had both before, and was there to try the blanche and the myrtille, which are only to be found in the brewery. They were out of both. Great. That was more or less my only reason for visiting. Sucks. If you only make 4 beers, and you put them on your menu, make sure that you have them stocked. And if you run out of them, make new. You’re the fucking brewery, it’s what you do. I’m not asking that you permanently have 20 different beers in stock, only the 4 that you put on your (online as well as printed) menu. But I guess they make more money out of the Lupulus Tripel that is being distributed over the whole of Belgium and abroad. We were also disappointed about the lack of any small snack food, like a portion of cheese or so. Did I btw mention how expensive the place is? 2.5 euro for a tea and 2.9 euro for a 25cl of the local brew? In the middle of nowhere? In Wallonia? Common. Oh, and you better not go to the toilets before you finish your food. It smelled awful in there and the evening had yet to start.“

“Situado cerca de la chouffe nace esta cervecería donde Pierre antigo propietario de la chouffe elabora la Lupulus. La cerveceria es pequeña pero con buena tecnología.. También tiene un gran espacio donde disfrutar de las cervezas. Un sitio bonito de visitar si estas de "beer tour" por la zona.“

“Big, spacious tap room upstairs. Cool building in the middle of the Ardennes. Great farmhouse location and style. I bet in the summer you can really enjoy the balconies out back. Good bar snacks and good food. The staff barely spoke English (or Flemish or German), so brush up on your French before going. Kinda disappointed by the beer. Not on the same level as Achouffe.“

“This place is cool taps Luxembroug lager Simon, their house brews and of course Chouffe products in the bottle I think. Funky place in the middle of nowhere. The lunch we had there was great.“

“Old farmhouse with a mixture of old and modern enterior - quite cool. Nice and helpfull staff - but disappeared several times forever. They do had 4 of their beers on Achouffe on tap - as the founders of this brewery are the founders of Achouffe. Ther e is a restaurant on the first floor - which looks awesome, we weren’t in. We spent our time at the Brasserie on the second floor - where they serve snacks and bread platers or fries. There is a great summer patio. Couldn’t believe that we have been the only guests tehre that evening and also the restaurant was empty. I don’t know what they concept is but it doesn’t really work it seems.“
