74 /100 Tere Plekke (Bar) KOUDEKOTSTRAAT 21 Nice place near to the border between France and Belgium. Good Belgium beer selection and very cheap. Really pleasant place. Ask for a submarine it’s a white beer with a jever glass inside ! Very fresh for the summer ! |
58 /100 Tere Plekke (Bar) KOUDEKOTSTRAAT 21 It was better a few years back...Change of owner and now part of a group of restaurant in the region.Food is now very poor and too heavy. Beer selection is a bit above average for a Belgian Estaminet but price is honest. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends though. |
90 /100 Tere Plekke (Bar) KOUDEKOTSTRAAT 21 Wonderfully rustic country cafe just off the N375 towards Bailleul. Very popular on a Sunday afternoon. Good beer list including some unusual finds for the area such as the excellent Caracole Ambree. Highly recommended. |
82 /100 Heksenstoel (Bar) DOUANESTRAAT 21 Best pub in the village and much better than the nearby and better known Heleketel. Nice atmosphere and a large beerlist including some French beers. |
32 /100 D’Hellekapelle (Restaurant) DIKKEBUSSTRAAT 171 No longer worth the trek and no longer associated with the once great Bie Brewery of Watou. This is where it all went wrong for them and their beer became infected and undrinkable.
Now this pub sells an average selection of ales and they charge for tap water!!
Ther are far better options in the area :Heksenstoel & Tere Plekke (Loker), Labyrint (Kemmel) & Kauwackers (Dranouter). |
62 /100 D’Hellekapelle (Restaurant) DIKKEBUSSTRAAT 171 Nice surroundings, ok food, most of De Bie beers available - what more can you ask? Staff spoke quite fluent english, and were willing to help when asked. Wish we would have been there at brewery tour times, but anyway it was nice and would easily visit again. NOTE: No credit cards accepted = Euros only! |
