60 /100 Dickmann’s Cafe (Bar) 479 ORPHANAGE ROAD Went on a recommendation and per the tap list online. Huge parking lot. outdoor smoking. no minors. food is ordered separately from the bar. My bartender admitted he was not up to speed on craft beers. First, I got a brown ale but I’m pretty sure it was a red IPA and that the tap was mislabeled. I then ordered a local beer. Most beers were macros. the ambiance was Fantasy Football draft pick weekend. I got a basket of fries. two beer and fries for $20. not a great deal. It was basically a BWs without minors and weird food service. Might return but not for the beer. or 50/100 on September 1, 2015. rerate on 6/15/2018. http://www.dickmannscafe.com/OnTap is misleading. I went there and there were only 28 taps not 37. There were also 46 bottle as opposed to the advertised 1. The bottle selection is way more craft friendly than the draft selection. Of the visible taps, only 13 were true craft beers. The plus side s how cheap they were. Place offers 12 or 16 ounce pours. NO FLIGHTS. all plastic cups. great pitcher/bucket deals. several arcade games including basketball. Quality volleyball court outside. Service was on the light side but courteous. Really disappointed the official website with a current updated list was so misleading. in short: torn. |
70 /100 Valley Wine & Spirits Ft. Wright (Beer Store) 3485 VALLEY PLAZA PKWY Decent parking. Bombers on the right as you walk in next to 10 taps. Behind the taps is the walk in cooler with the same bombers but obviously chilled. Decent selection of regional brewers and offers a few top 50 beers such as the Abyss by Deschutes. I’ll return for sure. |
