“Moerlein opened a taproom in the A councourse at CVG, right across from the Sam Adams Cincinnati Taproom in the airport. The bar is made to look like their OTR brewery, with a faux white vaulted look. The rest looks like a typical airport bar. There are 10 taps, all house beers, and they have an exclusive (JET CVG, although I think it's also at the other locations and therefore not exclusive), a few seasonals, and a few standards. There is a full food menu, and the items mostly match Lager House offerings, but this is the single most important thing I can tell you about this place - THIS IS NOT THE SAME FOOD AS AT THE LAGER HOUSE. The food is terrible, and more expensive than at the Lager House. The burger was small, bland, overcooked, and very much in the vein of what you'd overpay for at a stadium. The fries seemed old despite my eating an early lunch there. You know an airport bar is going to be overpriced, but I can't recommend anything other than a beer here. And beers only come in 20 oz. glasses, so you're committed to a $9.50 beer no matter what.“

“went for the Bircus pint night and so the atmosphere was what I image is NOT a typical night as there were acrobatics being performed. I found this place very average and common place. Nothing really stood out except that they have their beer list on several large TVs which makes it easy to see what they have to offer and is updated. Service was decent but slightly understaffed. All orders are done on tablets and that made it less intimate. Parking was easy as they have a large lot. I counted 22 taps but didn't see their bottle beer list. I did not eat there but the menu had a few things I would have wanted to eat. Beer selection was split between typical craft, typical macros and local options. This place is 15 miles form where I live and I'm sure I passed a bunch of similar places along the way. I doubt I'll go back. If I lived nearby I would go there regularly if they frequently have new beers.“

“Visited on a Tuesday afternoon before a flight. Located across from gate B10 in terminal 3. Typical airport restaurant layout, though it did have more than the average amount of seating, which was nice. Beer selection with 6 draft, mostly macro. Food and service about what you should expect at an airport.

58 = ★½ (Local place tickers only)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Visited for lunch on a Tuesday. I had a bunch of time to kill before a flight, and this appeared to be closed place to the airport that had decent food and beers. Located at the end of a strip mall, pretty standard bar setup inside with tables, hightops and seating at the bar. Beer selection was 22 drafts of craft beer, 4 of which were localish. THey use the Digital Pour system which I always appreciate. Bottle and can selection covers the macros. Looked like some of the beers were offered full or half pour, but was hard to tell from the menu board. Service was friendly, and my Calzone was tasty. Certainly fit my needs.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Located in a strip mall on the east side of SR237. Inside is a full-length front to back bar with 15 seats, tables in a parallel row, and more tables along the front of the space. The staff are nearly all family, and are courteous and efficient as well as knowledgeable about the brews they serve. Lots of uncommon choices on the taps. One of the better places in Boone County to locate good brews.“

“What a pleasure to find a real beer store in N. Ky. Not the Kroger’s mass distribution stuff. They really are paying attention and seeking out new beers and distribution.“

“So I sat there at the bar for five minutes and made eye contact with a person working there. No service. I left. Has 6 taps and 13 bottles. Not that hard up for a macro, Kentucky bourbon ale or angry orchard. $8 for a 10oz pour of Kentucky bourbon ale. Not likely to return.“

“So I had 30 minutes to change planes in CVG, and no places apparent on Ratebeer. Then volia! I found this place right across from gate B10 in terminal 3. They had two local Kentucky beers and two from Cincinnati - Moerlein and Hudepohl, plus a Sam Adams and. a Blue Moon on draft. I told the sver I had 30 minutes, and she said, "Get the pulled pork.". So I did. And it was pretty decent. Then a fire alarm went off, and we were evacuated. Forrtunately I had already paid. So I ran down the terminal, beer and sandwich in hand, and made it to the plane just before they closed the door. Probably the most interesting layover I’ve had in a long time.“
