“Newer brewery. Some money went into this place indeed. Several buildings, including the large bar and an arcade. Large space, capable of dealing with crowds. They are running six core beers plus another six rotating and a couple of guest taps. Flights of four available. Solid service. Beer is OK. Supposedly have food but the bartender could not get the lady to show up to take my order for 30 minutes.“

“Ethereal's Public House location is in a nicely renovated old building between the skyscrapers in downtown Lexington. It was a little drafty on a cold January Saturday but cozy enough. Smallish space, ordering done at the bar in the back. Bartender was friendly. Food was on the higher side price-wise, but pretty good. Beer is okay, and prices were fair on the beer. There are a dozen house taps and the styles range from traditional (classic pils) to ridiculous (blueberry muffin sour). I haven't been to the main brewery or the Slice House, but this is a nice downtown refuge, the kind of place I'd visit after work if I worked in Lexington.“

“Seems like it's downtown. Parking was a bit of a bitch. Worth it though because this place was fantastic. 1810 building. They've done it up as a comfortable hangout. A couple dogs in there. Mostly tables and a bar with 8 or so seats. Both employees helpful and friendly. 12 or so beers on tap. I tried four. All good. A few bottles and they do crowlers. Prices high on food, good on beer. Food is exceptional. Super-local focus and gourmet. I had a paprika schnitzel which was excellent. And the pork in the schnitzel was butchered by them and they even offered (maybe joking?) to let me see the pig's head which was still down stairs. It was about $72 for the food, a flight, a $14 bottle and an $11 growler, plus tip. If I were a local I would be here a lot. Highly recommended.“

“A little surprised I havent stopped in before, but C'est la Vie. This is a Belgian / European themed shop on Euclid. Metered street parking available. They have a wall of bottles and cans to the left, starting with an entire lambic section. No Cantillon, but tonnes of 3F, Tilquin and the like. Pretty impressive Euro selection overall, including some bottles I havent seen in a while, and some I have never seen. The second half trends to regionals, which was less exciting. One downside is that it was all shelved at room temp, even the IPAs. There is also a bar with about 10 beers on tap, also European heavy. No whales, but a good selection indeed. A place like this I am guessing doesnt have a ton of turnover, but its a must stop for a visiting bottle hunter.“

“A little different than the TW setup, but the beer is still to left as you walk in. Good selection as with all TWs. Lots of local, some good seasonals. A couple knocks on this location, though. Multiple employees were off-loading carts of Franzia right in the way of me and two other customers, making browsing difficult for the three of us. And not even one "sorry." And I got a 10 month old IPA. The cashier, however, saves the service score. Dry humor, but friendly and funny. Prices decent. TW is always worth a stop.“

“On campus outpost of Ethereal, in a multi-use space with a couple of restaurants. Not busy at all on Monday evening. 14 taps, available in two sizes. Great prices overall.“

“Located in an old bourbon distillery, along with several craft distillers and food outlets. High ceilings give the impression of space, but it's actually kind of small, but there is outside seating available. Flights are available.. Kind of a lazy afternoon, so it was a nice place to chill. Decent amount of taps, decent beer.“

“Brand new spot in Pepper Distillery. Very beautiful inside and adjacent to Fusion and in same area as Ethereal. Great spring/summer spot that opens on to Town Branch. Started with four very good dry ciders.“

“Interesting place. First, I never would have guessed a location so close to downtown was at one time a quarry, and I was also surprised that the quarry office could make such a cozy, warm place to enjoy a brew. The bartender was hesitant when I told him I was there to rate. Seems that, especially untpped raters, tend to give knee-jerk reactions to the beers, which is frequently not a good thing. After he read some of my written notes, he warmed up considerably, and was a good ally. The place is fun, the beers are all good to great, there are regulars who stop in after work, and it has an atmosphere of dedicated customers who keep the place positive. Flights are around $2 per 4 oz pour, but it varies a little. Pints, etc. are all reasonable. A food truck was outside on my Thursday visit. All fun and all good.“

“Tucked away in an industrial area of Lexington, this brewery is worth finding. Interior is bright and white, yet somehow cozy. They have an impressive selection, including a few guest taps - and you'll want to take home a four-pack or two. Didn't have a chance to sample their pizzas, but a couple folks said they are good, so I'll take their word for it. Servers are friendly and efficient, make you glad you visited. I may give them repeat business if I am in the Lexington area again.“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon. The beer selection is toward the back left of the store and there are a few aisles to peruse as well as a cooler section. They also sell kegs. Lots of stuff in single bottles. Some are only available in 4/6 packs and the guy I talked to wasn't interested in breaking them up. Prices are decent and in line with other places. I ended up with a six pack and 8 individual bottles. I was pretty happy with that. I would go back if in the area again.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon. Parking is a bit weird as their parking lot is actually a couple blocks away. You can see it from the tap room, but it's not actually all that close. The tap room itself is actually pretty nice. Plenty of seating available, only gripe is there is only one restroom. The beer selection is very good. Lots of diversity among styles and for the most part all the beers are excellent. Prices are a bit high on flights, but full beer prices aren't bad. Would definitely recommend when in Lexington.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon. They have their own large parking lot that they share with the restaurant that is in the same building as them. There is also a good bit of street parking if you need that as well. Inside there is a good bit of seating to choose from. Some is inside an Air Conditioned area, another is in a glassed in area that is not temperature controlled. A good bit of outside seating as well. The draft selection on my visit was decent, but they tended more toward IPAs than I would have preferred. There were other styles, but probably a third of the beers were some form of Pale Ale. They also had bottles, cans, and lots of merchandise for sale. Service was pretty good. Order at the bar and take to your seat. Maybe at a slower time they wait on you? Not sure. Overall a pretty cool experience. Most of the beers were good to great with a couple I didn't really care for. I would definitely visit again.“

“Nice large taproom featuring a pizza place. I did not have any pizza since we had already eaten. We came in on a busy Saturday night and they had live music. They have a large tap list with some craft beers from other breweries along with at least a dozen from Mirror Twin. They had several "mirror" pairings featuring two beers with just one ingredient changed up to offer a unique spin. All of teh beers that I tried were quite good.“

“Hidden on a side street that has a restaurant and then small modern industry. Enter through the parking lot. Indoor/outdoor seating. Flights @ $2 per 5 oz. pour. Good variety with a few guest taps. Busy on the Thursday I was there, but the barkeeps still kept track of me. A stop if you are already in the city.“

Very open and very clean though they were out of paper towels in the bathroom. The spicy beer cheese is very spicy. Great view of Downtown Lexington, at least during the Winter.“

“A new brewery in a former industrial/railroad area of Lexington that is being renovated. It is located next to 2 new restaurants. A large place, fairly empty on an early weekday afternoon. I tried 2 of their beers, an ESB and sasion, which were solid. Nothing seemed to stand out about the place, but beers were good.“

“A new large brewery in Lexington. They have a large tap list, with some guest taps as well. Beers were above average (tasty cinnamon vanilla porter, milk stout, pumpkin stout, brown ale with honey pecans, and unfiltered IPA). They serve pizza as well. Lots of seating, several TVs. An enjoyable stop!“

“stopped in on a Sunday mid-afternoon. 2 ladies playing Yahtzee and Danny behind the bar. Parking was a breeze (devoted lot). no clue if there was wifi. had a good chat with Danny. Beers were good too. Delighted to have tried their KY Common with blood oranges. will return for sure. There was a food truck; guy seemed really proud of his food and claimed to be "dogmatic" in regards to his stance against hamburger pizza. lots of board games up for grabs. 2 non-gender-specific bathrooms. a couple of TVs. has a roof overhead. does the lady on the mantel have a moustache? 7 home taps and 3 guest. does flights or solo samples for $2 ($3 for high ABV brews).“

“Third stop of the evening. Seems like an odd place for a brewery. Street parking available. Looks to be an old house to me, at the end of the street. Inside you find your way to the bar kind of in the back. Its pretty small in the bar area, but there were only two people there other than us, so it was fine. Friendly service, chatty. Flights available of their beers, so I gave them a whirl and they were by and large solid if not exceptional.“

“This is a really cool space in East Lexington. Street and lot parking available. The area feels somewhat industrial, but there are other bars nearby and apparently a really awesome BBQ place. This is large open space, lots of room inside. They had a large taplist about 50% mirror twin and 50% a guest brewer from Ohio. Flights of 5 available. There is a wood fire pizza place that effectively shares space with them, so there is some food available. I like the space, the ambiance, the service was great. Unfortunately the beers were quite bad, which kinda sours the entire experience for me. Hopefully they sort that out at some point.“

“This was our first stop of the evening. For some reason I did not even notice that it was a cidery until we got there :). Small place on the East side of town. Lot parking available. Open space, simple but kinda cool. They have about 20+ taps including 4 of their own ciders, guest ciders, and guest beers. Mostly Kentucky/Ohio stuff. According to the guy serving us they are planning to brew beer as well, but Cider is the owner’s first love. I tried all four of their ciders and all were decent, with Kentucky Sunrise being the standout. Sample sized pours of everything they serve, which is nice.“

“Lexington’s first and only cidery. 20 taps. 10 beer/10 cider. So far, 4 of their own ciders are on tap. A fight of 4 is $9. Cool little taproom in out of the way area that is mostly industrial but Pasta Garage is down the street. All 4 ciders I tried were very good, and I’m not a cider person.“

“Was less impressed than I’d hoped, based on reviews. Nice spot in a quaint little neighborhood. Warm ambiance in the middle of the day, dark decor. Service was friendly, if not especially attentive. Taps looked nice, though I wasn’t imbibing. What struck me though was the fairly limited selection of bottles (felt like a lot of empty space in there). It’s possible that I caught them at a fallow juncture, or that Lexington just doesn’t have good distro, but it definitely keeps the rating down.“

“Decent enough brewery not far from West Sixth which I visited first just before coming here. The layout is a little strange...but nothing bad...just kind of an unusual floor plan...with a front area...a game room...and back area in sight of the brewing equipment and a bar built strangely or unusually high (pick your adjective)...the high stools are not high enough to leave you sitting normally...so the bar is higher when you sit than you would expect. They had about 18 taps...but maybe 4-6 were guest beers...so maybe 12+ of their own. I found the beers to range from average to pretty decent but no standouts (for me at least)...none were bad or off flavor or anything though. It was trivia night when I visited and the place was about 1/2 full. Probably the coolest thing is the copper brewing vessels...absolutely beautiful! The staff was talkative and attentive. All in all...not a place to go out of your way for...but certainly worth checking out if you’re in town for at least 2 nights and have already hit the much better West Sixth and Country Boy breweries.“

“After drinking in Cincinnati and heading to Louisville for business...with the plan to return back to Cincinnati to fly home...I figured I’d drink the 2nd night in Louisville. Thank goodness someone I met at Madtree the first night talked me out of that and into returning to Cincinnati via Lexington (instead of drinking in Louisville). I hadn’t considered this since last summer I passed thru Lexington and hit the very fine Country Boy brewery. They told me it was worth going out of my way for West Sixth...and they were right! This is a really great brewery that I actually like a little better than the more highly rated Country Boy (taking nothing away from them). Large drinking area with tables as well as a sizable taproom and "L" shaped bar. There were "18" beers the Thursday night I visited about 10 days ago...which included a cask (apparently they do a cask most Thursday nights). I had 3 flights and tried 12 of them plus a few generously offered tasters. I can’t say enough about this place...really great beers...hoppy beers, big beers, barrel aged beers, sours, and dark beers...too many to write about given most were very good if not great. Coming here and trying many of their beers was a lot of fun...wish I had more time. One of the coolest things about West Sixth is the adjacent fish restaurant accessible directly from inside the brewery. You order and pay...then they deliver to your table or bar spot...and let me tell you something...this is "really" good seafood...worth coming for independent of the beer...which is what many do (note that the get very crowded...I waited at least 50 mins for my food...but it was worth it and I didn’t even notice the first 30 mins or so as the beer was so good!). The staff here is very friendly and very helpful...even given how busy the place was the night I visited. West Sixth is a must stop in Lexington and clearly worth going out of your way for!“

“A bit of a challenge to find - if you come from downtown/UK, turn into the parking lot after the building with the giant mural painted on it; if traveling the other way, turn right just past Thompson Road - Brewery is in the back facing away from the street. Quite a bit of parking but lots of puddles/pot holes. And once there, Ethereal is between two restaurants (Middle Fork and Goodfellas pizzeria). Nice bar with a good selection of their own beers with a few guest taps. Pleasant place and nice since it’s on my way out of town.“
