72 /100 402 LICKING PIKE Visited on a Friday around lunchtime and there was a decent crowd of what appeared to be mostly local retired people. The space is nice - new, clean, and bright. Suburban sports bar vibe, but at least a nicer one. It sits right on Licking Pike and there isn't much else nearby. The restaurant has garage doors that open up to a large patio. The 12 taps had 7 house brews, one beer brewed for the place by Fifty West (odd), and a few macros. Pints are $6, 4 oz. tasters are $1.50 (they could probably bump those up to $2 and sell just as many). The food was good bar food, nothing special. The beer is average, but I was pleasantly surprised by a few of them. Simple, clean styles and execution. There are a few breweries in downtown Newport/Covington and a few more outside of or close to the 275 loop in NKY, so this brewpub occupies a unique geographic place where there aren't many other beer options. If you're in that zone, go here. |
76 /100 Longnecks Sports Grill (Restaurant) 1009 TOWN DRIVE 2nd year in a row we stopped at the Hamptian INN next door on way back to NY from AZ. Glad it was a Tuesday this week and we got $2 Beers! Big place with lots of tables and servers for them. Glad we beat the rush too when all the tables were full! I had a local draft Beer and a can. My 1st 2 cans I selected were sold out! The sandwhiches are good enough for a good value! |
82 /100 402 LICKING PIKE Good Renovation and new big parking lot. |
68 /100 402 LICKING PIKE Went for lunch on their first Saturday being open. The biggest issue for me is the parking lot: small and not much room to maneuver (think madtree 1.0). The rest went well. The 4 house beers were good. A little pricy. No clue if there is WiFi. Very open layout. Has a spot for dogs to go wee, outside. Lots of 4-tops (high tops) and two large couches inside. Outside was picnic tables if I recall correctly. I think they are going for the sports bar crowd. Currently does not have a kids menu but they told me they should have one soon. As is I would say this is not kid friendly on the account of the predominance of hightops and no kids menu. I hope they follow through with the kids menu for their sake. There are Lots of families that drink in the area.
Service was good overall.
Also had 4 guest taps, 2 of them local!
Current menu was small: sandwiches, two entrees, four appetizers or so. Full bar with 8ish tv's.
Saratoga chips were tasty as was the salmon salad. |
78 /100 Longnecks Sports Grill (Restaurant) 1009 TOWN DRIVE A nice little spot especially on $2 Tuesdays where all beers are $2! |
42 /100 A A Liquor & Tobacco (Beer Store) 1412 GLORIA TERRELL DRIVE I usually go here to fill up on cheap booze and tobacco before camping trips. There are micro beers you wouldn’t expect from a liquor store in Wilder, but I noticed. Nothing new for me ever, except malt liquor or the like. Service sucks consistently - for some reason, it takes for ever to get your change. On the bright side, you can get hookas. |

66 /100 Longnecks Sports Grill (Restaurant) 1009 TOWN DRIVE Okay sports saloon in Wilder. Great specials on Tuesday night, which is also trivia night, Food and service are solid, as is the value; just don’t expect too much from their beer selection. |
68 /100 Mellow Mushroom - Wilder (Restaurant) 1014 TOWN DRIVE Ambience similar to all the TGI Friday/Applebee/etc. establishments. Beer list includes local micro-breweries, but not inventive. Good pizza. |
74 /100 Mellow Mushroom - Wilder (Restaurant) 1014 TOWN DRIVE Easy to find location directly off I-275 and AA Highway. Building is new and orderly. Bar in the front right and seating for food in the center and on the walls around building. Bar has taps in the middle. Staff is freindly with good beer knowledge. Did not try the pizza here but looked similar to other location and pizza was very good there. Good clean family location, average beer selection and good pizza. Worth the stop. |
58 /100 Longnecks Sports Grill (Restaurant) 1009 TOWN DRIVE Sports bar meets saloon. Atmosphere is loud and festive. Service is quick. Selection is OK when in stock (Chimay Blanche is somehow never restocked). A variety in style but macro heavy. Some crafts but not many foreign choices. Food is tasty but not healthy (wings and deep fried stuff). Good deals on Tuesdays. Parking situation sucks! |
74 /100 Mellow Mushroom - Wilder (Restaurant) 1014 TOWN DRIVE rerated on 3/20/2012 due to better selection and better appreciation of the food. []
Original rating:
Slow service for the food since the food is made from scratch - food that is par, so why wait? Selection is varied but macro heavy and the bottle selection is limitted as well. There is nothing obscure or high-ranking other than arrogant bastard and a dogfish head. The bartenders say that new taps are coming soon, but still no sign. Go to Mellow Mushroom if you want to spend a long time with your company in a loud environment. |
78 /100 Longnecks Sports Grill (Restaurant) 1009 TOWN DRIVE I agree with Tmoney in that it is very easy to find. For the location they have a great selection of bottles. On Tuesdays they do $2 longnecks on almost all of thier beer. Food is typical bar food, but is very good. Tons of TVs for sports fans and an awesome juke box. |
80 /100 Longnecks Sports Grill (Restaurant) 1009 TOWN DRIVE Easy to find location directly off I-275 and AA Highway. Building is new and orderly and patio seating in the front. Bar in the back center and seating for food on the walls around building. Bar has taps in the middle with coolers on both sides of taps with bottles. Staff is freindly with good beer knowledge. Menu is American pub food and apps and pizza very good. Two dollar board of 10 to 12 micros everyday and $2 Tuesday on majority of beers in the house. Good location, beer selection and food. Well worth the stop. |
