“Visited August 2023. Typical JDW. Visited with the family. Very well located with a nice view of the pier. Couple of local brews on cask. Good vibes. Next one please!“

Oban Beer Seller (Beer Store)

“Right across the street from the Oban distillery this is a cute little single room with several dozen cans and bottles of mostly local Scottish beers, though some Belgians too. Prices were about average, but it was a great spot to stock up on some obscure Scottish stuff. Worth a stop if you come through town.“

“One of the best Wetherspoons I've visited, not for the beer selection (they are usually all fine) but for it's amazing location by the Harbour with outside seats. For me, it was probably the best place to drink in Oban but both and location wise even if it is just a Wetherspoons.“

“I only visited the restaurant part of it but there was no signs of any microbrewery in here, no real ale, nothing interesting on tap or bottle. Service was slow and food was disappointing.“

“We were here for dinner after coming back with the last fairy from Mull. Atmosphere is okay, beautiful view on the habour, they offer standard pub food for reasonable prices, the selection of draught and bottled beers is okay, so it is quite okay if you don’t look for something special“

“Very nice interior, friendly and quick service. 3 real ales on hand pull, one from their own brewery the other 2 Scottish ones. 12 others on tap, one was new and interesting for me. This is more like a wine bar with great food (saw a sign with something like Bistro of the year 2017). - 20 wine on glas, my wife had one and appreciated it. In the rear there is another smaller pub and futher on the actual brewpub behind windows. Toilets didn’t match the place - not that fresh. Parking available a few hundred meters down the water front and on the parallel street. Best place in Oban - old ratings doesn’t indicate this...“

“Pub in B&B cellar, one real ale on the hand pump 8 others on tap. A few bottles on display. Quick great service, food is of a rustic pub nature and looks yummy. Pool table and 2 big TV screens are still there. Car park 100 m away, fee 9.00 am - 6.30 pm.“

“Visited for a quick one but a long que indicated a no go and only one staff serving that thirsty crew put a stop to that b-ness. Had like 50 taps, 5 looked interesting and 50 ish bottles. Food looked OK but I saw much better at the other 2 pubs. Probably mostly ferry passengers dining here. Was ignored by the staf that served the tables:( Returned the day after, great breakfast and nice prices - also discovered that the pub was app friendly.“

“Ah Wetherspoon’s. You’re so cheap, and yet none of your branches I’ve ever visited is anything other than a barn with zero atmosphere. The Corryvreckan has amazing views across Oban harbour. When I visited they were running a real ale festival, and had eight taps (only six actually on) for cask beer. Selection was biased towards the traditional and British. I had an Abbot’s Ale, which was very good, in a trad style. But zero atmosphere. Staff efficient rather than friendly.“

“Food is very nice, but beer seriously lags behind. They make 6 different brews, but always only one is available at a time (others available in bottles).“

“Nice location with a view of the harbour. Crowdy, a bit slow service. Good variation of dishes. The lunch dishes at 12-4 PM are very affordable.“

“Nice dark cellar pub with a maritime interior. Stone and wooden floors , with dark brown wooden panels on the wall. Pool and big TV screen showing sports. 1 real ale on tap, some beers from Fyne also in bottles at my visit. Selection wise, this is as good as you will find in Oban, 1 cask seem to standard around here.“

“More a restaurant with a brewery in the back room, than a brewpub. Which brewpub supplies only 1 beer from their own premises?- Nothing in bottles either. Food was good though, very busy place, more like a fast food restaurant.“

“Pub/restaurant at the seaside in the center of Oban, on the corner with Oban Distillery. Larger place with only few people. Service is not that friendly, food is ok though. Whe I visited they had only two beers available and even those were bottled and not on tap.If you are in Oban, ok to visit, but not worth a detour.“

“Ever in Oban, it’s absoloute must go to pub. Amazing crack all year around. Great mix of locals, tourists and students. Bands on every fri and saturday, in Summer thursdays and occasional wednesdays as well. Its just has that amazing vibe about it, that only the few pubs/ bars have, Shangri La of Scotland, along with the Mishnish of Tobermory. Beer is great, have the local ales from Loch Fyne Breweries and Oban Bay Brewery. The Vital Spark of the Loch Fyne range one of the best beers ive tried certainly the best Scottish Ale The staff are alright as well“
