64 /100 Montgomery Plaza Liquors (Beer Store) 6225 BALTIMORE NATIONAL PIKE If I’m in a hurry and need nothing complicated, I go to Montgomery Plaza. The beer selection is very limited and slanted toward American mass-produced lagers. But, they do a volume business, so the stock moves and is quite fresh.
They carry a limited selection of Magic Hat, Dogfish Head, Flying Dog, Anchor, Otter Creek, and every now and then surprise me with something unexpected. Nothing to write home about in terms of the depth of their craft brews (in terms of brewery selection), but there ALWAYS is something there worth buying. |
52 /100 Super Cut Rate Liquors (Beer Store) 5605 BALTIMORE NATIONAL PIKE This is a little cinderblock building just outside the Baltimore city/county line on Rte 40 West. The beer selection is not that large in number and only is about 2 short aisles in the store, but for the limited number they do have a decent selection of seasonals and craft beers. I went in on a whim one day to check it out and came out with a 6pk of Avery Old Jubilation. They had Avery, Troegs, Samuel Smith, DFH, Stone to name a few. Worth stopping in if your in the area. |
56 /100 Montgomery Plaza Liquors (Beer Store) 6225 BALTIMORE NATIONAL PIKE Will do in a pinch for a few interesting beers if you’re in the area. Will find Allagash, Clipper City, Stoudt’s to name a few. Doesn’t look like they’ll sell singles. They seem to have a little niche w/ Eastern European beers. |
