“It all started in autumn 21. With some friends with whom we organize a video aperitif twice a week, we were looking for an Advent calendar that could be sent to Belgium, Corsica... and Greece! Theirs looked attractive and we chose it. No order problems, problem-free delivery, reinforced transport box... and good beers! Since then, we have ordered several other boxes dedicated to events or simply surprise boxes. No problem ! And so the Advent calendar 2022... On Black Friday, I ordered three special boxes (12 Days of Christmas and Mashed-Up Box) at 6:15 p.m.... They were at my house on Monday at 10:15 a.m. We haven't finished discovering the American beers they offer!“

“Ordered twice now, first for the Advent Calendar. Something went wrong with ordering (couldn't ship to NL apparently...) but was handled very quickly by their customer support. No issues second time. Shipping was quick and efficient. Selection of beers is great, main focus is on US beers. Relatively fresh, older beers are usually offered with a discount, decent prices, save the over-hyped slushies / fruit juices. Packaging was solid. Only downside is that you always pay shipping cost, no matter how large your order is.“

“Update of score: Used a fair few times now. Good selection, sometimes finding something that the other Dutch online shops dont have. Like that they are linked to untappd for easy cross checking, and they have a big focus on US beers with special go live alerts on big brewery drops. Allot of the time I can find those locally here cheaper, but still a nice option to have. Delivery costs very good to here in DK, and beers arrived well packed and within 2-3 days. Overall really impressed.“

“I ordered from here Sunday 22nd March 2020. The site is extremely well laid out, clear pricing, best before dates listed, photos of all beers, nice descriptions and a link to Untapped reviews. The site works well, it's fast and very informative, delivery was very reasonable and packaging good and it arrived within 3 days. Another thing that I liked was that you get an automatic discount depending on how much you spend. The focus is on beers from the USA and prices I think are amongst the keenest that I have seen anywhere. I really like these guys, I only have a one quibble. So you can buy beer that is close to or beyond the expiry date, I did this with 2-3 beers, however despite the dates being listed on the website the actual dates on the bottles/cans received was much older than that indicated, this didn't worry me too much as I didn't purposely go for particularly delicate beers, I have no issue with a TIPA being a little out of date when it is really strong as I really don't worry if the hop intensity drops as I like the combination of maltiness and hoppiness anyway, but it might annoy some.“

“Visited in the afternoon and it was fun to get inside the monastery wall where everything seems a bit more muted and quiet. We did the tour and had some food in the cafeteria along with some beers. Food was good and along with seeing the brewing facilities, the tour gave some insight to the history and philosophy of the brewery and monastery. There is a shop where you can buy beers, merchandise, books etc. to bring home. A good combination of history, food and beer.“

“Ordered late at night 8/1/2020, delivered in UK 11/1/2020. Great service! Very well packaged. Not that expensive for delivery either. Very clear on BB dates. Very good selection with lots of stock I've not seen online elsewhere. Easy to use website, though to be able to select by country would also be beneficial. Ordered mostly Russian and Estonian beers plus a few others from new (to me) breweries. Definitely a positive all round experience and one I'll probably order from again.“

“One of the biggest and most accessible of the Trappist breweries, it's very easy to book a tour of La Trappe. Formerly an order based in Normandy, they moved to the Belgian/Dutch border in the 19th century. Now with distribution aided by Bavaria they also have a wide distribution around the world. The tour is good fun and you get to see various areas of the brewery. Walking around it was great to smell the sweet delicious aroma of the wort. There's a large cafeteria, much like Westvleteren, although there are more serious lunch options. All beers available on tap and there's also a small shop selling the beers, cheeses and various souvenirs. Look out for the special barrel aged release beers in the shop.“

“Nice monastery buildings, quite a large place, and they have built a pleasant modern restaurant as an extension. It was super busy on a Sunday lunchtime, food was good standard local pub grub with the range of La Trappe beers. Best food of the Trappist places I’ve been. Nice little shop with decent prices - just La Trappe stuff though so more like Westie than Achel. A nice place to visit.“

“The proeflokaal of la trappe is a nice place to sit if you want to enjoy one of their own beers. Even the most recent oak aged. No other beers then their own. Good food and quick service. With most choices is a beer suggestion on the menu. You can do guided tours to the brewery. A must do if you ever are close and want to enjoy at the source“

“Primary focus is on US and canadian beer. Lots of stuff not seen elsewhere Selection seems to be updated and renewed quite often. Scored a few "rare" US-state ticks from here. Prices are decent, discount given according to the size of your order and they have sales regularly. Layout is straight forward, easy to navigate. Shipping is fast and secure. Ordered on a Sunday evening, received the box on Wednesday!“

“This webshop features lots of US and Canadian beers that I haven't seen elsewhere in Europe. Great selection with around 800 beers to choose from. Their hoppy stuff is generally not as fresh as I would have liked, and the prices are a bit on the high side, although comparable to my home country. If the selection rotates, I'm buying here again.“

“The first review was for Firma Bier. They have since rebranded (changed their name to Beer Republic) and have dropped quite a bit in quality, with an increase in prices that seems unjustified, dishonest discounts (I have seen some US beers that had their original price positioned in such a way that the 20-30% discounted price was still above other shops that did not offer discounts) and generally focusing on quantity US beers, instead of the previous quality beers. I am sad to say I rarely find it worth my while to place an order.

Great selection of craft beer from all over the world, with the occasional elusive USA craft beer shipment. Next-day delivery in the NL, but it was quite decent when I was ordering from Romania, too. Excellent packaging. Their website is very user-friendly. The prices are a bit higher for some of the beers, but it’s worth it, if it means keeping up the excellent service and selection. 90/100“

You can gt vintages of their Oak Aged Quad going back to number 1 which is nice. Go for the stunning location.“

“I was a frequent customer of Firma Bier and now I ordered again after they changed their concept and name to Beer Republic. Such a change should result in a quality raise, but unfortunately it dropped, because the freshness issues for hoppy stuff got even worse!

They now offer best before dates for every beer, which would be a great service basically - if the dates were real. For example I ordered a Knee Deep Simtra, webshop said best before April 2017, bottle says bottled Nov. 2015. What?? Not only the best before date seems to be kind of cheating, you can’t sell IPAs bottled more than a year ago - especially as a "welcome gift" when reopening a store! And thats not the only beer, all hoppy stuff I got was old: Pipeworks Lizard King canned half a year ago. Various hoppy Lagunitas stuff with a short best before date, etc. Fun fact: The webshop now tells us "Europe’s leading portal to North American craft beer"...

I always liked Firma Bier for the Stouts and Sours, where they often had stuff you couldn’t find at another European webshop. But this isn’t a good (re-) start, so I have to drop my former 82 points rating significantly.“

“The monastery is located in the southeast of Tilburg and can be reached by bus 141 from central station in a few minutes or by 45 minutes of walking. The clean, rather large restaurant offers all regularly available beers from La Trappe including at least the most recent batch of the Oak Aged Quadrupel. The prices for those were quite high considering that we are right at the source. The menu offers lots of dishes made with beer or ingredients that were made with beer, especially their own cheese. The prices for those were still reasonable, although not cheap either. The service was very quick, attentive and friendly. If the weather allows for it, make sure to sit on the patio and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. At the shop, you can by all of their beers, and the price for the Oak Aged version is at least a lot lower than in most shops in Holland. Apart from the beer, there is also the possibility to buy cheese, books and other stuff. Unfortunately you cannot visit the brewery or other parts of the monastery on your own, you need to take part in the guided tour.“

“Visited the 14th April 2016 during Roadburn Festival - This place near to Tilburg is a standard monastic beer place, as In de Vrede can be for Westvleteren beers. Really modern building, clear and clean with a terrace to enjoy the sun in summer. Beer selection is only La Trappe, normal for the place. Food is good and for a smart price as the Beers. Service is efficient and smart. Recommended if you are in the area.“

“Ok navigation (better than other beer shops I use). Service was Ok. I got one wrong bottle, but didn’t bother to complain, since the wrong bottle was a tick from the same brewery and not very expensive. The packaging was a bit scary, no bubble wrap and the bottles were clinking in the package. Fortunately nothing was broken. Selection is very good, a lot of US stuff I haven’t seen anywhere else and some other interesting picks. Prices vary, but generaly are on the cheap side. Shipping price was reasonable. Overall: good webshop.“

“One of the best looking beer web shops I’ve used. Quite a nice collection, got myself a nice mix of Dutch and foreign stuff, big and small bottles. One bottle was mistakenly packed but I got something in a similar price class from the same American brewery instead. I mailed them about this and they said: "keep the bottle we sent for a nice beer polonaise and we’ll also mail you a coupon with credit so you can order the bottle you wanted some other time". Professionally packaged and delivered the day after I ordered.“

“Nice selection of beers, with some hard to find stuff and some non-regulars. I found it a bit hard to navigate, as options are limited and there is no obvious search field. Furthermore, the webshop works very smoothly and looks very attractive. Pictures of almost all beers available. Prices are sometimes steep, sometimes cheaper than other places. Ordered about 10 bottles of harder to find stuff. Package arrived next morning in perfect condition. Would definitely order again in the future.“
