72 /100 215 W MONROE ST Run-down feeling place in a cute little down -- expansive interior. About 12-15 meads available for sampling. Flights 5 x 1 oz pours for $5, quite the steal, but served in crappy little white plastic tray cups. The mead quality varied, from average to above average, with everything being fairly decent, but nothing incredible. The guy running this place was extremely friendly and very happy and seemingly proud to describe his mead-making process. Worth a stop if you're passing through this area. |
50 /100 Calabash Party Store (Beer Store) 122 W MONROE ST Small party store in Bangor. They have a few options in terms of craft beer six packs (and plenty of cheap macros), but I’m not sure how fresh their craft beer is, as I don’t think they have much turnover. Not the cleanest store, and service and value are average (at best). |
66 /100 Harding’s Market (Grocery Store) 14 W MONROE ST Harding’s is in the center of downtown Bangor, and is the main grocer in town. They have a decent, straightforward bottle selection with good service and prices. |
