80 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD The first thing that came to mind when arriving here was "high class / up scale sports bar." i didn’t go into the restaurant side though, so not sure what’s on that side. The server was polite enough, and although she wasn’t exactly a beer expert, she was able to provide opinion and recommendations based on what she’d tried and what she’d overheard coworkers say. Their selection was definitely good, with mostly Michigan beers, but a handful of other not-so-common brews. The food was tasty - always a plus - and it looked like they had a nice stage for live music too - I’d love to come back when there’s live music. |
88 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD A large selection of beer on tap. Many founders, bells, and shorts. Food is great and not that expensive. Can get very busy especially Friday and Saturday nights. Well worth it to go for a great beer and meal. |
86 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD CJ’S is a great place to sit watch a game and have good food and good beers, the waitstaff was vary friendly and helpful. |
48 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD Very commercial feeling outlet- like a chain restaurant. Have had so-so experiences with service and food. Beer is also average at best. |
70 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD It is a pretty cool place, the beer is mediocre, but decent enough for a place to hangout. Full sampler of all the brews on tap. Stout was by far the best beer. |
78 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD went in around 9pm with 7 of us...was seated immediately...9 beers on tap 3 of which were seasonal. the waiter shawn was patient and knowledgable. enjoyed what he had to say. the food what we had was pretty good..the beer cheese soup was very good. french fries were crunchy and not soft and soggy. the fish was very good no complaints from the group. the beer..the standard fare was average my boys liked the light lager and the other liked the amber...i was impartial to those and the cream. the ipa was ok the stout was good and the smoked porter was very good. the octoberfest was decent. the american wheat was good. overall a good experience and i would go back again. |
78 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD place is massive tons of tv’s and plenty of great draft selections. gets super crowded so prepare to wait. food is very well done |
74 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD Not the same since Joe is gone! |
46 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD place is ok at best sub par beer and sub par food. lots of tv so maybe good for a game day |
66 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD I’ve only been to the one in Compuware before Whalers games. Fun place, I like the IPA, others beers were okish. If going to the game well worth stopping in. |
70 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD Not much to say. If you are driving past CJ’s for some reason, stop by to mark it off your MI beer list. The food is pretty good, and the brewpub itself is really nice, and family friendly. The beer was not that good. |
82 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD I’ve been here many times. Very good beer selection with proper glassware and it is always rotating. They let you select any beers for your beer flight which is awesome! My girlfriend loves their salads, smoothies and cookies. Food is usually great and fresh. Usually really good entertainment. Some areas get too loud. Friendly waitresses, bartenders are ok. Very nice patio. |
96 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD This place is great, food is excellent, service is quick. Have to go with beer flights because beer selection is best in town. |
76 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD Bright and clean, CJ’s is a nice change compared to the many sports bars in the area. The day we visited they had 6 beers on tap. The ale and wheat beers were crisp and clean.
Service was good, though a bit slow. The food was standard pub fair with some imaginative twists.
The brewing setup was clean and efficient and the brewer was friendly and willing to chat between tasks.
Plan on visiting this one again. |
80 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD Large sports bar with 10 40 inch TV’s above bar. Nice selection for Michigan brews including Hop Slam and Double Trouble. Offer beer flights which is great. Brews and food are priced good. Had 3 good brews and a Buffalo Chicken wrap for $21 which is pretty good. Service was nice. Loud bar with smoking are only drawbacks.Definitely worth a visit. |
84 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD Spent a pleasant winter evening here. Nice place with a very good beer list. Hung out in the restaurant side all night, because the bar side looked smoky and loud (that half has more of a sports bar feel--lots of tvs, etc). Restaurant side is more sedate, and non-smoking. Draft beer list heavy on the Michigan brews, which was good for this out-of-town visitor. They get extra points for allowing you to build your own 5-beer flights out of anything on tap, allowing me to sample 10 different beers on the cheap. Didn’t have too much food, but the appetizers I did have were solid. Good service--just the right level of attentiveness. Definitely worth visiting. |
74 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD the beer list is short, and the beer is only average but it is a decent place to watch a game. good pizza. |
84 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD Selection rating suffered from absence of malt liquor on tap. Bottle beers only available in 12oz or 16oz (no 40oz). great food. |
80 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD Large sports bar type feel with a big outdoor patio. The prices are very fair and the beer list is excellent. The taplist definitely leans towards Michigan beers and in a good way too. Some of the beers they’ve had on tap are multiple Short’s, KBS, Canadian Breakfast, Bam Biere, and so much more. The food is a step up from the typical brewpub fare. Joe has done an excellent job making this place one of the better beer bars in the state. |
66 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD They spent a lot of money turning this dump into a nice place. I have many complaints but will hold most back because a beer selection like Uptown has did not exist before Uptown opened. Great all around but Michigan leaning tap selection. Pint prices are fair and even better served in the correct glasses. Menu is a bit disjointed. I would suggest they pair down the selections and improve the food they do offer. |
76 /100 Uptown Grille (Bar) 3100 E. WEST MAPLE RD a large newly renovated building. expansive on the inside, with a wine and beer to-go section at the entrance. 30+ taps, with an emphasis on local and american craft beer, but also has a careful selection of imports as well. pleasant waitstaff. an excellent bar, selection is great and i hope it does well. |
56 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD Nothing special here. Food was good but not great. The few beers I have had were decent. They had a cherry stout on tap the first time I was there that was quite good. |
50 /100 8115 RICHARDSON ROAD Place is nice and big, the brewing process takes place behind a huge glass wall. They make a bunch of different beers (8 or so) which aren’t very good. I took home a bottle of each and was very disappointed (this could be a bottling problem as I only has 2 beers on tap which also weren’t all that good). Food is typical, good appetizers. |
