60 /100 Cowley’s Old Village Inn (Restaurant) 33338 GRAND RIVER AVE updating a review from probably 10 years ago:
The bar has suffered significantly in recent years. Selection varies with a few craft/local beers usually on tap but certainly not a beer destination. Overpriced. They also don’t play nice with nearby establishments (like the Basement Burger Bar or Farmington Brewing Company). The owner fired the chef (who now runs a superior restaurant a mile away, Peterlin’s) and hired his son as the executive chef and the food has steadily worsened despite increasing in price. Skip it and go next door to FBC or BBB. |
74 /100 Cowley’s Old Village Inn (Restaurant) 33338 GRAND RIVER AVE great irish food and the decor is outstanding. could use a few more selections |
96 /100 Antonios Liquor (Beer Store) 22804 ORCHARD LAKE RD I recently stopped at Antonio’s Liquor because I saw a big sign that saw Craft Beer. When I walked in I immediately thought everything was going to be way over priced because of how nice it was inside, but everything was priced very reasonably and inexpensive. The beer section is complete and contains about 30 plus cooler doors with cold beer. Majority of the isles were singles and six’s. I picked up a chilled six of Bell’s Hopslam and was satisfied with the pricing. I also was able to pick up a freshly prepared hot pizza for dinner and was greatly serviced. Overall my experience with Antonio’s Liquor was a great one.

76 /100 Cowley’s Old Village Inn (Restaurant) 33338 GRAND RIVER AVE Used to go here all the time, cool irish place, remodeled it a few years ago, used to be kinda an irish dive bar, now its a great place to meet friends up for a beer, but not a great place to party all night. |
80 /100 Cowley’s Old Village Inn (Restaurant) 33338 GRAND RIVER AVE Good atmostphere and food. Prices are average. Decent amount of beer on tap.
Good live entertainment.
I attend monthly for beer tastings (great!) and business lunches. |
70 /100 Cowley’s Old Village Inn (Restaurant) 33338 GRAND RIVER AVE Good atmostphere and food. prices are quite a bit expensive. Good live entertainment the time I went |
56 /100 Cowley’s Old Village Inn (Restaurant) 33338 GRAND RIVER AVE Good food, good atmoshpere (although too loud when a band is playing when I was there). Service was so so. Limited beer on tap, and expensive for metro-Detroit. I would go again for dinner (and a beer or two), but would not go just to hang out and have drinks with friends due to the high prices - if the prices came down, it would be a pretty cool place to hang out. |
