“Came here on 26.2.2020. Large redbrick building with a huge restaurant area, a merchandising shop next to the entrance and the brewhouse on the other end. A few old ‘mug club’ guys on the bar playing buzztimetrivia. Roughly 20 beers on tap: regulars and seasonals. The NEIPA was quite good. Service was not attentive and cheeseburger mediocre at the best.“

“I loved the old brick architecture, the wooden beams and table interior. The beers were great, the food was tasty, and the staff was friendly. we beat the supper crowd.“

“Stopped with friends. Busy on a Saturday with a mixed crowd. Usual MI craft selection at decent prices. Live band started at 11ish and had to leave because of how loud it got.“

“This is a very nice place to go to on a date or with friends and family. What really makes it stand out is its friendly staff and excellent food, which stands above almost any other brewpub I have been to. I have tried almost every single item on their menu, and there hasn’t been a dish I did not like. Their beer is also solid, though not spectacular, with perhaps an exception of their Milkshake Stout, which is delicious. They have a decent variety, and they recently have been experimenting with some new styles, such as a pilsener, a dubbel, and a saison (coming at the end of March). Also, if you join their birthday club (free of charge), you get a free meal during your birthday month and a pint glass to take home. Not only a great brewpub, but this is among my favorite restaurants to go out to eat.“

“This is just an overall very solid brewery. The food is good, the beer is good. They have a really nice outdoor seating area when it is warm. They have live music sometimes and throw a really good St. Paddy’s party though its very crowded. This is one of my favorite breweries in metro Detroit.“

“I’ve been a mug club member for a number of years. The food is decent, but it’s really about the beer. Over the years, they’ve had at least 5 different brewmasters, but the quality and cleanness of the beer has been very consistent.“

“Always good food and if you are an IPA fan theirs is quite good. Nice setting and most of the servers are great and will talk beer. Good enough for me to join their mug club.“

“It’s been over 10 years since the last visit here (yes, it was that bad). I heard that the place had improved and while I would agree with that, I still won’t be in a hurry to go back. The food was OK, the server was great, and the beers (Wit and IPA) were average. The best beer on tap wad the guest tap - Arcadia Starboard Stout.“

“The atmosphere is clean without being sterile and quite comfortable. i have no complaints about the service, they get your shit right and they move at a good pace. They have a good selection of beers ranging from Michigan products like Bell’s, Shorts, Dragonmead etc. to 90 Minute IPA. The food is absolutely amazing, the ribs are out of this freakin’ world! Overall if you want a craft beer and excellent food, this place is right up your alley.“

“I heard good things about this place so me and a couple friends stopped by, the atmosphere was solid and they had a good selection of beer such as dragonmead and dirty bastard. The service was awful, our waitress was the dumbest human being alive, though she did have a nice rack. She fucked up our order 3 times and the cook has no idea what the term "rare" means, it was awful we were all pissed!“

“The atmmosphere is great, it’s an added that I know half the people that enter this bar, they play great live music, it’s well kept and just a great exciting atmosphere. The service is pretty damn good, I can usually get a drink within a minute of asking for it despite the large crowds, the servers are friendly and fun, very good service. The selection is excellent, they have offerings from Bell’s and Founders on tap and they have various brews in bottles like Old Rasputin and Guinness Foriegn Extra Stout, I love the selection. The food is pretty good, the burger is solid and they have good appetizers. Value: This place can get a bit pricey, but for the quality I can’t really complain. Overall: This is my go to bar for a reason, great selection, great service and it’s where all my friends hangout.“

“I noticed right away that my score it higher than the ratings below mine, what boosted my score is the brewpub itself. It really is a great building, and beautiful inside, the food is good too. I live not far from Rochester, and I had been avoiding trying it out for some unknown reason, I finally went last week and I was pleasantly surprised. Drank a Pleasurez Pale Ale and Organic Wit. Also sampled the Wheat, Red, and Milkshake Stout. They were not earth-shattering, but I can’t see why I wouldn’t come back. I brought home a growler of the Pale Ale, and I’ll go fill it up again on a Tues/or Thurs because they run discounts. If you are in the area, sound probably stop in and check it out.“

“Sunday noon. Not too busy, but a beautiful day, so the outdoor seating was lovely and packed. Inside looked nice too with pool tables, tons of space, and though perhaps not much of a distinguishing character other than the spacial layout, a nice place to be. Service was attentive and well-drilled enough, though they could just as easily have been at Applebee’s. The quality of the food, though an interesting selection, unfortunately also could be found at Applebee’s. Beer was standard brewpub fare, low gravity brews, but a wide variety of them so as far as I’m concerned it meets the need of all. Perhaps they were just in between seasonals though as I see below that they do offer some bigger beers. Quality was varying from very good to average. Fine pricing.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent here. Surely a beautiful day had something to do with it, but still a place I’d love to have close by, and would return to in an instant.“

“An interesting little brewpub based in a historical old mill. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and got to sit outside, which was very pleasant. The service was great. There were ~10 beers on tap and the ones I tried were quite tasty. The food was ok (the descriptions make the food sound better than it is...I got the Shepherd’s pie which was actually pretty good but my boyfriend got the sesame chicken which was not good at all...so it is hit or miss). A low key, chill kind of atmosphere and good beer to boot. I had a great time here!“

“Set in a beautifully reappointed old brick mill building a block off the old Rochester main street, RMBC was a welcome sight on a cold Wednesday afternoon happy hour. The place was drawing a fairly good crowd for an early afternoon. Although I didn’t try the food, the three beers I had were all quite good. All together, they were offering 12 house beers on tap, including a couple big imperials. They also had 4 or 5 guest taps, ranging from Stella Artois to one guest Michigan beer; top it off with a selection of a half-dozen high-quality bottles (Belgians, mostly), and the place has a downright solid lineup. They also have free pool, a welcome diversion from sitting at the bar all by yourself looking like a dork. (Brewery #498)“

“Had to sit outside because they still allow smoking inside, but was happy to. The creek below was nice to see. The beer selection was great, and the food, while pretty much typical for this type of establishment, was great. The buffalo burger wasn’t available, but hey, many good beers were.“

“I think this place is one of the best spots in Downtown Rochester. The food is excellent and the variety on the menu is unreal. From Jambalaya to Goulash to a ton of burgers and standard brewery food. Inside, its a cool looking spot. A little packed and noisy, and TVs are kinda hard to see from most angles. Pool tables are out there and usually are easy to access. Beer selection is pretty solid and the local ones are decent. I like the Milkshake Stout and Rochester Red.“

“Interesting place made out of an old factory. Atmosphere is very nice. Food was decent, but everybody in my party ended up with food poisoning. Beer was pretty good.“

“It had been several years since I’d been in the Tavern and while the decor has not changed, they now have quite a beer selection. Complete with some great Michigan brews and European beers on tap. The place also features some great bottles. Also, don’t miss the burger and the rest of their menu. In the Summer, the rear patio overlooks the small Paint Creek and the deck is affectionately known as the Paint Creek Yacht Club. A great, small place that has a comfortable feel with great service and some nice TV’s if you want to watch a game and have a great beer.“

“The brewpub is in an old brick building that fits perfectly with the feel of downtown Rochester. Very clean, with an olden time feel that perfectly fits a brewery. The restaurant is very open, with a lot of hardwood, large windows and brick interior. We visited on a Sunday night and the crowd was small. We played a few games of free pool. The menu is extensive with an interesting list of sandwiches, salads and pizzas. The beer menu was standard but solid. We tried the red, ipa and wit and all were well built. I was able to get a six pack of their canned lager and they threw in a can of the brewery’s batch 1000 as the sixth can. A fun time and a place I will definitly visit again if I am in the area.“

“This is a nice place to go, not only for a decent beer selection, but also a nice dinner. Sometimes it smells a little too much like a brewery, which I know sounds strange, but Dragonmead and Sherwood do not have this problem. It’s almost as if the spilled beer doesn’t get wiped up.“

“I don’t know why I haven’t put my 2 cents worth on RM. I have been going to RM for over 3 years. I always thought the food was good. I went last night with my wife and a few other people .This is the 1st time the Louisiana Jambalaya wasn’t good , other food I have had before are Brewmaster’s Shepherd’s Pie , Hungarian Goulash. All have been good. before but after last nights dinner and the comments I got from the other people it appears thet the quality odf the food has gone down hill a little. The beer hasn’t changed still good“

“Nice place with essentially one really big open space. Sort of an industrial wooden interior with several pool tables (possibly full size) spaced a little too close together in the middle. Adequate array of sports tuned tv’s around here and there. The beer I tried was pretty solid but not more. I wish the food was as good as the beer. It was just OK and a bit disappointing.“

“I head to Rochester Mills whenever I’m visiting my brother and his family who live within walking distance of here. The best beer that I’ve had here is the Cornerstone IPA which is a great Pacific Northwest IPA Another good beer is the Sacrilicious Stout. I will be checking out the Detroit Beer Company in downtown Detroit in April.“

“A great addition to quaint downtown Rochester. A great Irish pub with better than average bar food. In fact, their burger is very good...made with Piedmontese beef. Inside is typical Irish pub with lots of wood and wood floors. Plenty on draft with some local brews such as Bell’s. The place gets VERY crowded on weekends, so get there early for a table or spot at the bar. Also, lots of smoke at the bar. Great spot...“

“A neat old textile mill with ok food and ok beer. Decent stouts and seasonal hefes. They also have some decent bottled beer that is not their own and Guiness on tap. Cool atmosphere with weekend live music and a cigar lounge/bar in back. It’s a cool place...the beer is ok, but nothing amazing.“

“About an hour out of Detroit, RM is a great place to check out. I went in the afternoon and even during the lunch hour it was busy. The building is very rustic with a renovated inside. There is plenty of seating but it’s wide open with little dining privacy. Families were there when I went so the food is an attraction in itself. Service was average but a tad on the slow side. There is a central games area with billiards; a corner for a live band and dancing; a secondary bar/room for cigar smokers. The place has an interesting feel to it. There are 8-10 house brews with a good variety of flavour and colour. I only sampled the porter but it was very tasty. [August, 2009] I never tire of RM - easily my most favourite brewpub. I’ve tried them all and find the beer and food to be outstanding. Try the Brewhouse Turkey Reuben! My only wish that it was closer to where I live, otherwise I’d be a regular there.“
