“Stopped in on a Thursday night, not too crowded, sat at a table near the bar. They had three of their own beers, only two on tap. I tried the two, they were ok, nothing special. Food was decent, lots of other places if you want a great meal. Wait staff was a little slow, was training another wait person, so all in all, not really worth a stop, better places around the area.“

“Stopped by here while at Branson Landing today. Pretty nice selection; comparable to the Joplin and Springfield Macadoodles. I found a La Trappe Dubbel that I don't believe I'd seen before previously at some of the other SW MO beer places. They also had Rochefort bottles, which I'd never seen before at a Macadoodles -- only at the Brown Derby Int'l Wine Center in Springfield. Ambiance ok; lighting was a little dark in some spots. Service and selection were good. Value ok; a tad higher by a few cents on some beers relative to some of the other SW MO spots. Overall, a good place to check out, especially when in Branson.“

“Good beer selection, prices were a little high, overall badly needed in the area. The service is a 10+. If you're in Branson, you really can't do any better.“

“A great little place across the street at the north end of Branson Landing. These guys are making every effort to be the greatest beer store they can be! An awesome selection of German, British, Czech and other European beers are always in stock. Brian and Rick have put great effort into acquiring rare and hard-to-find imported beers that I’ve requested. A special thanks to Austin for hookin’ me up with a pint of Iron Maiden Trooper ale! These guys ROCK!“

“Tuesday night and the place was packed... with elderly people. There was live entertainment... I see the same lady from the last review (Sep 2009) was still entertaining. Unfortunately the beer was bad. But on a bright side the steak was tasty. There’s not much choice in Branson but still in beer-wise I would pass this...“

“Rather big beer (and wine/liquor) store in Branson. Selection was rather good I think. Pick-a-six was quite satisfying at least for me. Found enough new beers for 2 6-packs here. Staff was very active and friendly. I can’t complain.“

“We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon, not very crowded this time of year. The menu had a good variety of Irish foods and several decent Irish beers and Red Ales. Also had several bottled craft beers. Worth a visit if you are in the area.“

“Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. They were conducting a wine tasting, so the crowd was not around the beer aisles. They had a decent selection of craft brews, nothing too hard to find in the area. The pick-a-six section was pretty decent. I built a sixer of a few items I had not seen in the area. Since it is pretty much the only store of its kind in Branson, if we visit again, I’ll definitley pay them another visit.“

“I was visiting Brandon and stopped here based on reviews on RateBeer. After a very enjoyable visit with the owner and a frequent customer, I learned that they'll be closing in February. That's a real shame! I wish there was a store of this caliber near me in Texas.“

“Waxy O’Shea’s is an Irish-style pub in the middle of Branson Landing. I went on a Wednesday night to hear a friend’s band play. It was a full house for a couple of hours, but thinned out around 10pm. Lighting (at night) was nice and dark, like a pub should be. Fortunately, (for me) they do allow smoking. The first thing I noticed about their beer list was that there were no German beers at all. I realize it’s supposed to be an "Irish" pub, but they do carry several Belgian ales, some craft beer and the typical American rice-beers. Nothing German. They had a few British ales, but nothing from Fuller’s, Greene King or Belhaven; just a few Samuel Smith products and Boddingtons. The only Guinness they had was the watered-down Draught version. I didn’t see O’Hara’s Stout on the list, so I ordered a Gulden Draak. It was served in a pint glass. I kid you not. Note: Do not let the waitresses pour your Belgian ale for you. Overall, Waxy’s has great live bands throughout the week and probably has the best beer selection of any pub/nightclub in Branson. But, it is Branson.“

“Small store beside Country Mart on Hwy 248. The owner, Tony White is very knowledgeable of beer and wine and has, on occasion, stocked beers that I’ve requested. Single bottle selection is right up front and is separated into two sections; one side for imports and the other side for American craft beers. The selection may not compare to larger cities, but you have to give the guy credit for stocking world class beers in a town that has very little demand for them. It’s the only decent beer store in Branson and prices are spot-on.“

“Nice little store tucked in a strip mall between Kmart and Countrymart. Best selection in town by far with decent prices as well. Selections by Firestone Walker, Stone, Sierra Nevada,Bells, Goose Island, Founders, BLVD Smokestack and many more plus imports. Nice mixer selection. Good friendly Service“

“Honestly surprisingly. For somewhere as shallow as Branson, this place has some depth. Definitely the only place we saw with anything resembling a respectable selection of craft beers. Nice selection of singles too. Plus carries some basic Stone since they reach MO now. If you’re looking for craft beer in Branson, this is your stop. I think all 12oz singles, including the Leffe I saw, were under $2.“

“The Wine Company in Branson Missouri is a great place to go to purchase beer by the bottle enabling you to try many different beers without tapping your bank account and if you don’t like the brew you’re only out a buck or two.“

“This place was not particularly beer-y but one need not expect too much beer culture in Branson Mo. The place was decorated with all sorts of antiques and oddities, including a huge plastic cow named Gaylord, and a taxidermy raccoon holding a box of cracker jacks. The place was fairly dead but we were well entertained by a lady who can kick your ass at Karaoke any day; singing some pretty good Country songs (Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Jeannie C Riley.... etc) very Branson indeed! The bar seemed a mess and the beer was not particularly good, seemed like one of those turnkey operations. What is odd about it is that usually these places push really hard the fact that they are a brew pub, but it seemed like an after thought in this place. The food was all either good, or excellent so I might actually come back for a bite and a tick if I’m in that neck of the woods again.“

“(Visited 10/2008): Branson’s only brewpub is located on 76 on the "Strip". There is ample parking in the private lot, and the place is pretty easy to spot thanks to a gigantic sign on the road. The interior has the same look and feel as a lot of eateries in Branson. It has a Western/rustic atmosphere, with lots of wood and brick, sporting goods, fishing poles, antiques and a giant bull. Charlie’s only had 3 beers on our visit, and while my expectations were not very high to begin with, I was still a little let down at the lack of selection and quality. None of the beers was above average. They had 2 wheat beers and a Stout and all were served ice cold and were unimpressive. Service was pretty good on a weekday evening. Our server was somewhat familiar with the beers and was helpful in getting samples when requested. Charlie’s food made up for the beer in some ways. The BBQ was above average, especially by local standards based on spending an entire week there. Overall my philosophy is "any port in a storm" when it comes to finding craft beer when traveling. However, the fact that I didn’t stop back in here again despite being stuck in Branson another 5 days after our visit says it all.“

“The inside of the place is cheesy Branson - lots of wood, aluminum, brick, actual schooners, rustic buckets and lots of mounted fish and wild game heads. Live entertainment, provided in table-to-table Mariachi fashion by a bleached-blond country music singer. The steak was good, but the nachos were absolutely horrible... nothing Mexican about them. Moving on to the beer: Kit beer, kit beer, kit beer! None of them were filtered (not necessarily a bad thing), but four of the six beers were the same color and totally not brewed to style. That’s normally not a big deal with me as long as the beer is good, but this beer wasn’t anything resembling good. It was all flavorless, watery and fizzy... even the stout. I don’t mind a flavorless beer with my food; in fact, I love a good pale lager with almost any fare, but this stuff - on it’s own - was just fizzy and flavorless. Don’t ask for a sampler. Although it’s free, you get about 1 oz of each beer. I offered to pay extra for larger samples, but they only offer the free sampler and beer by the pint. Pints are better for rating anyway. I hate Branson, tourist traps and country music. Apparently, I also hate Branson beer. Don’t go unless you only order the steak and/or ribs.“

“Stopped in as friends and I were staying very near to the restaurant. Don’t park in their lot if their is any ice as it is very steep. The inside was like any corny steakhouse with lots of stuff decorating the walls. There was also a life sized cow and other steak themes around. The beer was served form what looked like some type of modified mash tuns. The food was passable, but nothing special. The beer was barely drinkable, but at least it is local. My waitress had no idea what I asked for when I asked for a sampler of their beer. Obviously the beer is not a priority.“

“Very bad experience. Where to start? The waitresses didn’t even mention the house beer we had to ask about it (although service overall was pretty good). Only one was available: a wheat beer of some kind. It was badly made, a murky grayish color with tinges of paint thinner (phenols showing through). We settled for Pilsner Urquell and hoped for better food... the BBQ was decent but unfortunately the sides were very poor. I hope these folks get their act together, because it would be nice to have a decent brewpub in Branson.“

“Nice family resteraunt. There is little craft beer culture in Branson, MO., but Charlie’s will make a night on the Branson strip a very welcome place. The three 155 gal. brewpot/fermenting/conditioning vessels behind the bar hold the joy to that which is the soul of Charlie’s (although Gaylord th Bull might have something to do with it as well). They brew, ferment, and condition in the same tank so you get a raw and sometimes inconsistant brew that is always good. Unfortuantly they only brew three beers Lager, Light Wheat, and Stout. The light wheat was my 1st choice and favorite this year, but normally it is the stout that gets my fancy. It was at the bottom of the tank and meatllic, yet still good. The Lager was ferminting but it’s always had a I wish my macro tasted like this sort of feel to it. Being the only brewpub in Branson, Charlies is not only a must, but also enjoyable and fun.“
