“Nice big organized store. One of the larger selection of singles in the area. Well worth the stop. Staff was helpful, were able to assist with finding certain beers. Large cooler selection as well. If in the area, make the stop.“

“Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Nice big patio as you enter the building, lots of TV's. Seating area had a good size bar area plus several tables for bigger groups. We tried a few of their own beers, all were decent. They have a full bar, plus refrigerated area for beers on site or to go. We ordered a pizza to go, was really good. Staff was friendly and helpful, would definitely visit again. Good to see they brew their own beers.“

“Not far from Lukas Liquor Superstore. Fairly large space with plenty of seating. Bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. There were 8 beers and a cask ale available. All the beers across the board were good. Sampler flights are available, not to mention growlers to go. Well worth checking out.“

“Outside the place looks very unassuming but inside it is huge and new with nice long wooden tables and free darts/pool. Service is very friendly. About 6 beers plus 1 on cask. Good value, overall worth a visit.“

“Has a very good selection of beers and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of local and region offerings as well as some of the ones that are hard to find. Has a nice selection to build your own 6-pack from. Prices seem quite reasonable. Worth checking out if you are in the area.“

“Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. Nice big space, plenty of seating, had a pool table, dart board, and a few other games. Brewer was pouring and serving the food. Had about nine of their own beers on tap, we tried the first four. They were good, nothing exceptional. Brewer was friendly, just not a big crowd, hope things work going forward.“

“Huge, well organized store. Prices were a little better than other giant liquor stores I have been to. They have a discount table with beers that you would actually want to buy marked way down. Service was sparse but friendly (I don’t like a lot of people bugging me while I’m shopping for beer). They even have a bar on site, but it wasn’t open while I was there. Worth a stop. I think it’s better than Friar Tuck and Randall’s. “

“Stopped by here at the very end of my RBSG trip to get a bunch of single bottles. It’s in the corner of a strip with easy parking. Very big space inside, with a corner or so dedicated to beer. Shelves with lots of single bottles, and rows of coolers with singles available as well. I ended up picking about 30 singles that I’d never had. Staff was reasonably nice, although knowledge was limited. They offered to help me carry my beer to my car. Sadly, when I get home I discovered that many were out of code. Worst yet, my Boulevard 12oz bottles actually had the date stamps thumbed out. Just the month part of the date code on all of my Boulevard beers was clearly rubbed out. This is shamless and despicable. A disrespect to the industry. I won’t be rating those because they are completely not representative to what the brewer intended at this point. A waste of my money, a scam, really. If you’re going to visit here, be very careful about the date codes and keep in mind the freshness of what you’re choosing. Will not be returning personally, and would advise others to look elsewhere. Maybe somewhere that actually cares about their product, customers, and suppliers.“

“A large big box type store, just of a main road with lots of parking in an empty plaza. Service was decent, but nothing great. They do help you carry your stuff to the car though. Selection was very large with broken down 6 packs and a nice marked down area. Prices were cheap compared to other locals. A great shop with a big selection. Out of the way but worth the effort.“

“Very nice selection of brews from around the world as well as MO and other domestic brewers. Both 6-packs and singles. Reasonable prices and good service. Easy to browse the selection too.“

“Very nice store with a great selection. Did seem a bit out of the way. As a visitor it wasn’t a bad trip. Loved their singles section. Seemed everything was available as a single. Staff was very helpful. Very impressed. As good as an Lukas I have been to. Prices were not out of line. I believe it is worth the drive.“

“A bit out of the way. Or on the way, depending on where you’re headed I suppose. Very large selection that is fun to browse, with something for everyone. Mix-and-match six packs. Good selection of Belgian, German, British ales, besides loads of local, regional and US craft.“

“The store is huge. The selection of liquor is huge. There is no bigger one in St. Louis (store or selection, I think). The beer selection is also very large! Staff is as helpful as they can be. Very large "build a six" section. First time I walked through this place, I was there for something like 2 hours...slack-jawed the entire time.“

“Visited a couple of times, very nice selection. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great selection of beers. Build your own 6-pack is awesome and a cheap way to try some beers without buying the whole sixer. The beers are organized very well. Good selecttion of hard to find items as well. Will definitely be back!“

“Great selection of beer. Great create your own 6 pack selection. They have rare and hard to find beers. If they don’t have it you aren’t finding it in this area. Great service the 30-45 minutes I was there, I was asked 3 times if I needed help to find anything. Workers are very knowledgable about selection and were things are. Can be a little pricey but not to over priced from what I could see. I will be hitting this place up again everytime I’m in town.“

“Largest beer selection I’ve seen anywhere, ever. They always have multiple items I can’t find anywhere else. Well organized, lots of helpful labels, constantly updated New Arrivals list, large clearance sections, wide variety of singles, diverse keg selection and easy arrangements, fair prices, helpful staff, clean, well-lit, etc.“

“This place has great selection and decent prices on most beer. If you are looking for a more common beer, like Killian’s, Shiner Bock, or Schlafly Pale Ale, then buy it at the Supermarket and save yourself $1 per six pack. However, if you want something only found at liquor stores, then their prices are in line with everyone else. They have a very good selection of micro-brews and imports, and allow buying single bottles with a minimum of 36 oz. The service is always good. My daughters like to go with me because they know the staff will give them suckers! I’m always asked if I want to drive around and have them bring the beer to my car - even if I’ve only bought a single case.“

“Lukas Liquor is a big beer and liquor store in a strip mall at the intersection of Manchester and Clarkson, next to a Chuck E. Cheese. The service is helpful; they held a beer for me and greeted me at the door, getting it right away. The beer selection is one of the best in the area, rivaling Wine and Cheese Place and probably besting Randall’s. The prices are comparable to other stores in the area, give or take on certain items (Bush de Nuits was only $35 here). There is more stock than TWCP but the quality of selection is similar. What I like most is that this place actually sells single 12 oz. bottles- not just straight 6-packs or any of this mix-a-six bullshit- but entire aisles of singles. Hell yes. Why don’t more places in the STL area do that? Which brings me to the downside- this place is in far, far west county. It takes 45 minutes, more in traffic, for me to get here. And I never really have any other reasons to go to west county, which means I’ll stick with Randall’s or Wine and Cheese Place unless Lukas has something they don’t.“

“Very clean and well organized store - service was good in store as I was asked a few times if I needed help but was mostly left to browse on my own (which is how I like it) - they also helped me carry they 50ish beers I bought out to my car - the selection was outstanding and the mix a six (my favorite as I like to try as many different brews as possible without being stuck with a six pack) was outstanding and included approximately 60-80 beers with very few (if any) macros - the prices were average for the area - I just wish they were a little closer to home as I would visit more often if it weren’t a 45 minute drive from work on top of the 45 minute drive to work.“

“Coming from the country-side in Illinois, had to search far and wide to find a good selction of beers. Found it, finally, at Lukas!! Fantastic selection (growing all the time), with a wonderfully knowledgable staff (Hi Shelby!), who are always friendly and helpful. They even carry out your beer to your car!! This place is the bomb!! AWESOME!!“

“Visited on trip to St. Louis. Big store, I just checked out the beer section. Lots of beer, probably just about anything you can find in the area. Great selection of Belgian and other Euro beers. Lots of singles, both build your own six pack as well as more expensive beers broken out as singles. Mostly organized by country, but also some seasonal displays. Good amount of beer in the coolers as well. Prices seemed reasonable. A nice aisle of glassware as well. I didn’t really have much dealings with the staff, but the person who checked me out seemed to know something about beer. Kind of way out in the suburbs, but worth checking out if you are visiting.“

“Nice selection of singles to create a build your own six pack for a cost of 9. I was able to create sample packs of some local brews on my way home from St Louis, so I was happy about that. They had a decent selection of foreign beers and a nice selection of local and regional beers. The glassware was plentiful and affordable and the staff was friendly. The only problem I had with the store was getting into and out of the parking lot.“

“Been here a couple times to pick up NB La Folie and Schlafly’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Imp. Stout and Oak Aged BW. Good selection of Belgians and Germans. Average selection of US craft brews. Did have Bell’s stuff which is always a plus now that it’s no longer carried in IL. Service was good as were prices.“

“This was a great stop when I was working in Clayton.. a bit of a drive, but I’d do it again. It’s a big warehouse-style liquor store with what looked to be a very good selection of all kinds of booze. They have hundreds of different beers that you can mix and match, with several breweries that I can’t get in WI, and some really solid stuff available.. the Belgian selection is solid as well. I ended up taking 3 bottles of sake back with me that I hadn’t seen before. Service was very friendly and helpful. I’d stop here again if I’m in the area.“

“Love this place. I should point out that my primary interest is Belgian beers. They have a very good selection, although far from complete. One notable missing beer is Affligem. The person who helped me says there is no distributor for MO. At any rate, I have found a regular supply of Duvel and that makes me happy.“

“A worthy stop in the St Louis area, but a bit out of the way if you are not in the western part of the city. While the building isn’t much to get excited about (looks like an old supermarket/Walmart type store in a strip mall next to a Kmart), the selection is fairly impressive... could be organized a little better, though. Wine selection is really nice, but tough to navigate. You can mix your own six-packs for a set price, but this is a mediocre deal and there are not as many options as there should be. There are also singles of a lot of the pricier European imports and high dollar micros, but most of the mid-range micros are only available in six packs...“

“Beer selection has easily tripled, maybe quadrupled since I first visited this place in mid-2003. Solid, deep, selections in every area - Belgian, U.S. Craft, German, English, etc. With a selection this large, use common sense - that rare German pils on the warm shelf in a green bottle is probably not a good selection here. Huge wall of coolers duplicate a good portion of the stuff on the numerous warm shelves, though much of the more obscure selections are warm shelf only. As of May, 2006 they now have a blog that lists interesting new arrivals, etc.: http://lukasstl.blogspot.com/ Staff is passionate and eager to help.“

“SKUNK ALERT!!! The selection maybe great, but I’ve heard to many Skunk stories about this place, including my own experience. They have to know they sell bad bottles. I suggest Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton, or Randall’s Wine in Spirits in Fairview Heights. Neither has as a good selelction, but you won’t get skunked. I hate skunked.“

“stopped in here a couple of days ago to pick up some of the new Schlafly Reserve BBA Impy. Stout. a nice clean store with a huge wine selection. as far as the beer is concerned, it had a decent assortment of Europeans , but I found the US micro selection to be just slightly better than average. prices were good however. unless you want New Belgium, Corral is the place to go in the St. Louis area.“

“Very good selection. It’s a huge store. If you go there, however, MAKE SURE you check the dates on your bottles; I’ve made the mistake several times of not checking them, and about 20% of the beers I buy there are expired. Last week, I popped open a bottle... that expired 2 years ago. I bought it last week. CHECK THE DATES!!!“

“Always a friendly greeting when you walk through the door here. Large selection of beers and it keeps getting better. Plenty of imports and micros. There are a large number of Belgium beers to choose from. There are a good amount of single bottles from Germany, Russia, Poland, etc. Prices are pretty good. They also have mix and match six packs. It is mainly a wine store, but there are still quite a few there that know their beer and all of them are willing to help. Periodically they also offer beer classes to help introduce people to a particular line or style. Between this on the west side of St. Louis and Corral Liquor on the east side of St. Louis you can get a heck of a lot of different beers in pleasant environments.“

“Great selection - comparable to Corral across the river (some different beers). they aren’t quite as liberal about letting you make your own 6’s (but they did have a braod selection to choose from). They also have a small selection of glassware. Traffic on Manchester is awful, but it beats going into Illinois. My new favorite place.“

“I feel a little disapointed, because I live 30 yards from Starrs, and I drove all the way to Ellisville for pretty much the same selection. I must admit, i did make a purchase based on the mix-a-six, not because they had beers I couldn’t get at Starrs, but because it would save me from buying sixers of Abita and Bells. As for the Rogue bombers, maybe I was there at a bad time, but Starr’s has 2 more than this place. I must admit, prices were slightly better than Starrs, and the place was pretty cool. I just don’t see myself driving all the way there again, unless I’m picking up singles for a trade or something. Probably the best place to go if travelling through and looking for singles.“

“Stopped here on my most recent STL visit since I’ve heard that Corral Liquors across the river in IL has declined. This is a massive supermarket of alcohol and my liver delighted. For beer, they have a wide selection of quality imports, most available as singles. They also have a pretty decent selection of mostly regional US micros available to buy in singles. Their US selection isn’t quite as good as Corral’s at least used to be, but I still was able to stock up on about 2 cases of new singles. They also have a superb selection of wine and spirits. In a bit of a congested area, but worth the trip.“

“Beer Blog to check for new beers is: http://lukasstl.blogspot.com ---With the improvements that have been made in the last 2 years, now one of the better beer stores in the St. Louis area. You will find many micros here that are not available on the east side of the river like New Belgium, Odell and Shiner. The Rogue bomber selection is the best in the area. Belgian, German, UK and import selection is excellent. Service is first rate and if you have a question, ask for Mike, their beer consultant. The easy way to get here from STL is to take west I-64/US40 to the Clarkson Rd exit, then south on Clarkson and you will avoid all the traffic on Manchester.“

“What I love most about this place is that it is a three dimensional catalog of what’s available in St. Louis. Absolutely wonderful selection, but they will have it in three different sizes! Mixed sixer has a great selection (warm or cold). Beer tastings every Saturday. Matt does a great job juggling samples, questions and special orders, while the whole time convincing people who say they don;t like beer to try a peach lambic. Belgian and English selections are top notch and broad spectrum of domestics. Walked around with a sample, and shot the shiy with the customers and had a wonderful time.“
