“Stopped in when they opened on a Sunday afternoon. Nice big space inside, lots of picnic tables spread around outside. Overall a nice space. No food, but had a food truck outside. Beer selection was good, had a few samples and bought a couple of beers. Staff was friendly, was worth the stop.“

“Very cool looking prison themed spot. Bars and wire fence everywhere. Even some art created by inmates. Extremely friendly service, you would expect that in a place like Jeff City. Good variety of beer, not all styles but good. Food was overpriced and just ok. Beer prices were good; they have a huge sampler. If you're in the area check this place out.“

“This was kind of an unplanned, unexpected stop. The first impression, between the odd neighborhood and initially small town/rednecky feel wasn’t great. But all three beers we drank were good to very good, and then the excellent service and surprisingly well prepared, homemade and delicious food made this place stand out in the crowd. Brewery #693.“

“We did the Mo State Penitentiary tour and then went to Prison Brews. The Pen was so very hot and the brewery had great AC. It was a truly unique place with a jail cell ambiance. I liked it. They had about 7 of their beers on tap and I had to add 3 of them here. The smoked porter was exceptional. We were not really hungry and got appetizers. They were good. I will make it a point to visit this place again. Not only is it, almost, the only place in town but it is quite good.“

“I was really impressed with the brewpub. The theme of using the cell bars was pretty cool. Our waiter knew his stuff, suggested a couple of good lunches and threw in a couple of extra samples on our flight. Their beers were pretty good, not a bad one in the sampler. I would definitely visit again when in Jefff City.“

“This place has turned into a city landmark. The beer is good and the brew styles vary from time to time. The food is generally very good and they have daily specials. They introduced bocce to the local folks - a big hit. They have gluten free pizza and I think they carry a gluten free beer. The chipotle bean veggie burger is good.“

“Right down the street from the old Missouri state pen. Was given a coupon to this establishment after taking the tour for 15% off my tab which was a good thing since I was going to go here any way. Walking in lots of seating inside and out with a bocce court on the patio. I sat at the bar surronded by bars. They have 7 of there own beers on tap and all were quite decent. You can get all 7 in a sampler for only $7 with a 7 oz pour of each. This is a firkking steal. For food their specialty seems to be wood fired brick oven pizza. I had a brat with home fries and it was ok. This was a nice place with more locals than out of towners. There was a bocce tournement starting right after I had left.“

“I liked a couple of the beers I had, especially their Rye IPA. The brown and IPA were spot on for the style. I kind of enjoyed the honey wheat, which is surprising as I don’t normally like the style. The brick oven pizza I tried was pretty good. My friends liked their food too. A fun crowded place. They had live music on a Friday night. I liked this brewpub.“

“Been to this place dozens of times! Nice outdoor patio surrounded by a privacy fence. Inside fairly small with booths and tables. Very small bar area. Food is good--typical pub grub. Excellent pizzas! Beer selection is generally good and does rotate to some degree. They have a to-die-for India black ale. The IPA is also one of their best selections. Generally good Stouts. Their honey wheat and Go to Jail Ale is OK but I favor their stronger brews. Do NOT sit in the basement even if really crowded--wait for a table. Overall, a good micro. Recommended when in Jeff City.“

“Decent place in Jefferson City. Not as good as Flat Branch in Columbia, but if Flat Branch is ever very busy, as it is a lot, try this place. Decent to above average beer, and they have a sampler plater to try all 7 beers they have on tap that day. Average bar food, awesome fire brick pizza, and burgers. Above average service. Very nice set up, its like going to prison, since old jail. Smaller place. Nice patio with bocce ball on the patio. I will be going again soon.“
