66 /100 13823 WEST BELL ROAD We came here on 7.7.2022. State 48 has 6 locations in the Phoenix area. This was the first one: they just have moved the brewhouse out and will do a refurbishment. Place is a bit dark and old fashioned. They have around 20 beers on tap. The Hazy IPA‘s we had were average. |
72 /100 13823 WEST BELL ROAD This place must’ve taken some major investment. A stand-alone restaurant brewery in a packed Phoenix suburb shopping center, the place has a very nice feel to, including chopped fire wood as a wall-to-wall accent (because firewood is so coveted in Phoenix). I arrived at the opening bell on a Friday and was virtually the only person in the cavernous restaurant, which otherwise looks like the standard American family restaurant -- lots of table seating, a patio, and a bar with a nice roll-up garage window to the patio for temperate days. The bartender was almost TOO friendly, but took care of me quite well, and knew her beers. They had a standard array of house beers, plus a pretty stout list of available guest brews. The menu looked pretty good, but I didn’t eat. I had two different IPAs, one pretty good, one pretty standard. All said, I’d go back! This was my 800th brewery! |
62 /100 Buffalo Wild Wings - Surprise (Restaurant) 13882 W BELL RD Ok so my score isn’t high. It’s not laden with craft beer. But the service is phenomenal and there’s quite a few different wing flavors. |
74 /100 Hurricane Grill and Wings - Surprise (Restaurant) 11340 W BELL RD, STE 103A This chain is primarily based in FL, but we have one here and its a great place for beer and wings. They have almost as many wing flavors as beers! Its fun to try all the wing flavors and wash them down with a cold beer. I wish they focused a bit more on craft and locals, but its still a fun place. |
