“A real gem of a brewery in Atlantic City. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. What’s behind that front door is a real treat. Inside is a cozy bar and several spread out tables in a spacious small former warehouse that houses the brewery as well. Twelve taps and select cans are available for tasting on any given day. Styles range from a Keller Pils, light and dark lagers, saisons, IPA’s, stouts and even an English Mild ale. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff make this brewery a real pleasurable experience. Also, they offer nearly a dozen to go offerings for your convenience. A must visit while in the Atlantic City area.“

“Finally made it down here (twice in a week actually), while on vacation in Brigantine. Very short drive over the bridge, which was nice. Draft offerings were all ready good. Lagers, saisons, and pub ales seems to be the house specialties, with a couple of IPAs and a stout in the mix as well on my visit. Everything was really impressive, and even more impressive was the # of sessionable beers on. Doesn't look like much from outside, but it's really nice looking inside. Great spot, right up there with any other brewery in NJ that I have visited.“

“Visited in late October. A large German beer hall-themed open-air beer garden with 30 beers on tap, about 10 bottles, typical beer hall food menu. Not bad considering its location. Nice stop while walking down the boardwalk.“

“Basically kiddie corner to Tun Tavern in Atlantic City and if you had to choose between the two, choose this place. Bright space with a 25 seat bar and maybe seating for another 50. 20 taps and probably the same amount of bottles. Of the 20 taps, at least six are interesting locals that other bars are not carrying (Forgotten Boardwalk, Cape May, Nashiminy Creek, etc). Food menu is standard pub fare with an emphasis on wings. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but you are off the strip in Atlantic City. I sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and had beer suggestions, even though I didn’t need them. I would definitely come back here.“

“Located just on the side of the Sheraton hotel in the shadow of the AC Convention Center. The vibe is a little strange. It’s a very big space, high ceilings and looks like it may have been an old bank. Fake Marine Corps decor. I was in on a Monday night during the winter and there was very little staff but they were very attentive and speedy. No one seemed to knowledgeable about the product though. 7 taps but only 5 were working the night I was in. None of the beers are very good. Food was fine, perhaps a bit over dressed. Prices were a bit on the higher side but you are in AC. Worth a stop if you’re in town and ticking, but I wouldn’t go back.“

“Small place tucked between a deli and starbucks, in the basement of Tropicana casino. Had a sports bar look. No food, you’re supposed to get your food from the adjoined deli, but you’re allowed to eat there. No table service. Around 50 beers on tap, mostly local to NJ and MA. 100 or so bottles. Possibly the only place in Atlantic City to drink a real beer. They had a selection of DuClaws on tap when I visited and made me happy!“

“Brewpub in Atlantic City. On the beer side, the Wee Heavy (seasonal), Pale and IPA were pretty good. The others not so much. Food was solid. Atmosphere is pretty upscale/pub. Worth a visit in AC.“

“I used to love this place. Was a great place to get a good beer, and just chill out in a really relaxed environment. I was just there recently and was more like a club then an Irish Pub! Very disappointing. That being said there is an ok tap selection, but a really nice bottle selection of good craft beer. Service was pretty quick for how crowded it was. I would definitely hang there for a few beers on a slow night, but on a busy night your better of getting your beer in a plastic cup and leaving.“

“Decent place if in the area but nothing special...which is a shame given the history of the place name (birthplace of the Marines at the original location in Philly I believe). The beers are only average...same with the food. The service is also average at best. It’s a convenient enough stop if shopping at the outlets...but with a tad more time you’re far better off at The Mussel Bar in Revel or probably even Firewaters.“

“Great place to have a few beers, meet people from all over and a great staff..Been going here since it opened and more reguarly since 2005...The selection is very good over 100 bottles and 51 taps and Martinis... But the Staff makes this place awesome!! Cherie, Bobby,Nancy, Chrissy,Rachael, Katie,Jackie, Teddy and Mike are great... Most places you need to grab the bartenders wrist to see of their still breathing not here!!! I have gotten to know each of them over the years and they make every time in AC GREAT!!! Give it a try!!!“

“Excellent casino take on a brewpub. As good or better than anything slmilar in Vegas. Obviously the mussels are amazing. What’s really great here is both the bottle list and the draft list. There is a really good Belgium selection...with a number of incredibly hard to find beers...especially when you consider some of the hardest to find are featured here on draft. The decor is great...especially the motorcycle hanging from the ceiling and the chandeliers made out of bottles. Not being a gambler...the high points for me at Revel (besides the great oceanside location away from most of the other casinos) are the great Spanish restaurant Amada and this place Mussels. Also, make sure you checkout the rooftop garden at night...overlooks the ocean with a firepit.“

“I’ve only eaten at the bar but the food I tasted was delicious. You must try the mussels while you are here. Onto the beer, the bartender was very passionate and knowledgeable about the beer and it’s history. There are many to choose from. The beer was pricey, but that is standard for Atlantic City. “

“I’ll never find a perfect pair of excellent food and an incredible beer selection. I spent more time on the 5 page long beer menu than I did deciding on my appetizer. The prime rib was nothing short of perfect, as was my pairing with a Straffe Hendrik Brugs Quadrupel, with a digestif of Delirium Nocturnum. Truly an incredible menu!“

“You might hear angels sing when you sit down at the bar here, and observe the 30+ taps, and floor to ceiling glass cases filled with an outstanding array of high quality bottles. I’ve been here twice - the bar manager served us the first time and he was excellent. The guys who served us last weekend were fair at best and their attitudes kind of sucked. The mussels are really good, pizzas are ok. You go here for the beer, go to one of the other Revel restaurants like Amada for great food.“

“The place is dingy and looks as if it was an afterthought of the casino. The beer selection is pretty good and happens to be one of the best selections in the area. I think they have food service now, but when I went you had to order from the deli next door and bring it to your table. Again, food was an afterthought. “

“In the hopes of getting a good microbrew in the area, this is not it. I’m thinking the beers are brewed to be liked by the masses therefore they have a hint of what there style should be but nothing stands out. My favorite is the Devil Dog Ale, but like I said before it doesn’t stand out. The food is ok and that’s based on my wife’s input. My portobello mushroom sandwich came out so soggy I had to eat it with a knife and fork.“

“One of the best selections in a restaurant in NJ. Food was outstanding, albeit pricey but you are in a casino. Rodenbach 2008 vintage on tap for $10 4 yr old gulden draak, samiclaus lost abbey, lots of rarities on tap and bottles were excellent. Expected stella and the like from a casino restaurant. What a surprise. Staff knows their beer and the food. Most beers are $7 - $12 for a pint. Probably wont see firewaters again with this place“

“As close to a "beer bar" as you will find in Atlantic City, in a little nook in the Marketplace in the Tropicana. Solid draft list of 50 beers, but nothing super out of the ordinary. Another part of the bar has martini’s, which is something you would never see outside of a casino. But like I said, much better beer list than anywhere I looked in AC.“

“Visited this place for happy hour for my bachelor party. We just had drinks, although the food looked pretty tasty as well. The beers were good, available in flights to taste the all, and pitchers to sate the 10 guys in our group. Lots of fun hanging out on the open-air patio, drinking, and listening to a band (the band sucked). Thanks for a great time guys!“

“Went around 5 or 6 on a Thursday. Not too busy, no wait for tables and there were three seats available together at the bar for me and my two friends. Bartender was nice enough. Sampler of 5 3 oz. cost $6. Unfortunately no rotating seasonal was on when I went. Decent place, I’d go back again if I find myself in A.C.“

“I’ve been to Firewaters in Atlantic City about half a dozen times in the past couple of years and it remains the staple for good brew in AC. The interior atmosphere could use lots of improvement IMHO as could the bartenders knowledge and service level. But the selection is near excellent, making up for everything that is lacking. Pricing is more expensive than a standard bar but not as much as you would expect from a high end beer bar in a casino. Pints range from $4 - $8 bucks fro the most part. 750ml bottles can range from $10 - 25 bucks on average. Obviously they have some selections that are more expensive but I’m just trying to illustrate that lots of offerings are there to be had in the price ranges I’ve listed. Reviewed on: 09-01-2008“

“Very nice selection of bottles and drafts. I think its 50 taps and 100 bottles. Something for everyone. Have been a couple times and always head there ealry in the evening. Was surprised to see it packed late night...but sad to see everyone holding Miller lights. Terrible atmosphere late night, when not crowded its just ok. Also as stated below, they are quick to clear drinks, even when still full.“

“The only reason to hit this place is the lack of any other options in the area. Great tap selection but look closely at your glass before you take your first sip. I have had dirty glasses, gunk from dirty lines and flies from a glass that was sitting on top of the refrigerator. they obviously do not give a damn about their customers and the products they sell it is a shame that a place that serves such a line up of beers treat my favorite beverage in such ways. I will go again but only because i hate drinking anything else. next time i will concentrate on the bottles.“

“Overrated in comparison to my favorite spots. Solid selection for AC. But nothing over the top. The pub has no ambiance because it is essentially a small bar area adjacent to the casino floor. As beer popluarity grows, I would expect a real brew mecca to find a home. This is a side show, and not a stand alone place.“

“Visited summer 2008. Now this is a place I could describe without my notes. One of the most memorable places of my pub-crawler life, and for all the bad reasons. First the beer selection is quite amazing. 51 taps (that’s fifty-one!!!) with only about 5 of them sub-par crap for the tourists. Decent bottle selection too but with 51 taps you won’t get to it. The ambiance is something else!!! As far as true beer-bars is concerned this takes the cake for the tackiest most kitsch losers hangout. Worlds can’t describe the tacky disco DJ, worlds cannot describe the drunk losers that think that Atlantic City is the shit, worlds cannot describe the drunk fat chicks dressed up for a night out at the Casinos. This place is amazing. I went early in the evening with the girlfriend and went back late at night by myself. I could spend a week doing people watching there. Now back to the beer. I also had on tap Rogue Charlie which is a rarer Rogue. WARNING: Most customers drink alcohol or macros. With 51 tap lines a few are most likely not very fresh. My Founders Breakfast Stout was in poor condition. Highly recommended for those with a twisted sense of humour.“

“Visited summer 2008. Well located, walking distance from the beach and the main casinos. 7 beers on tap when I was there + 1 bottle 鼮ml) Grand Cru. Sits about 100 inside with another 50 in the nice front patio (where I had to beg not to be served in plastic glasses). Atmosphere is half-half pub-restaurant. Typical clean almost franchise-like sport pub décor. The beer really were not as bad as I was told. The girlfriend and I shared 4 pints and they ranged from very bland to actually pretty good. I didn’t I would score a few mid-3 there but I did. Food is greasy pub fare. I actually really liked the Double Tun Burger. Probably the fattest most calorific burger I’ve ever had. You eat that on a daily basis and you’re all set for a triple bypass surgery. Bottom line, some beers really are bad but some are pretty good and the food is nice if you feel like greasy food. I’ll would gladly go back there is (big if) I’m ever in Atlantic city. This place is underrated or I was lucky.“

“This place was alright for what it is. Beers were all pretty subdued (trying to reach out to the clientele of AC I would presume). Was here at dinner time (8:00ish) on a Friday night. We got a table outside (it was relatively empty considering), and enjoyed a few beers to go along with some decent food, and some live music on the patio. Not a bad place for sure, don’t expect any outstanding beers (of the ones I tried I scored the All American IPA the highest) (7 total on tap on my visit), but its certainly better then what is available around this area at other places, and worth at least 1 visit. Our service was pretty poor (especially considering how empty it was), which was particularly disappointing, as I rarely complain about service. Poor service was throughout the meal, including having to wait almost 20 minutes after being seated before we were greeted by our waitress, despite them appearing to be way over-staffed, and had to go inside to pay, as after she brought the check she never came back. Located near many major casinos and the Outlet mall, a good place for gamblers and shoppers alike. Another perk I found, free parking (up to 4 hrs) across the street if you spend $10 at Tun Tavern, so we were able to walk around for a while after dinner and not have to go pay for parking somewhere. “

“Went to this place on a Sunday morning. Got seated and waited God knows how long for a waitress to come over. My boyfriend and I weren’t impressed by the food menu and there wasn’t a waitress around so we got up and went over to the bar. Not 5 seconds after we went over to the bar did a waitress run over and offer to serve us. We politely told her we’d just get drinks at the bar. We had a sampler of 5 beers. I’d say 4/5 were good. Wasn’t into rating at the time but it was pretty good stuff for house brews.“
