“Cozy taproom that offers twelve beers on tap. Wide variety of styles. on this visit, there were two IPS's, a Pale Ale, a Saison, a Hefeweizen, a Pineapple Wheat, a Cream Ale, a Porter, a Rauchbier, a Polish Pilsner and a Stout. of the beers i tasted, the Haze Mat IPA and the Burnt Endz Rauchbier were the standouts. Fairly spacious room with a small bar. The servers were amazing friendly and knowledgeable. No food served, though you can bring your own or order in for delivery. Located on the corner of New Jerey Avenue and Oak Avenue, underneath a Bowling Alley. Entrance in rear of building next to a Laundromat.“

“Great venue...fun place...a lot invested in it for certain...fun for families and (respectful) rowdier people...lol! Outside space with games...large inside spaces...and views of the brewing equipment. The facade outside is a bit of an art deco...old movie theatre look. The food is good...wouldn't say great...but certainly good enough for a brewery. As for the beers...good to a few better...not sure any will blow you away...but I'd suggest they're getting better (and the large investment in the place would seem to encourage that). A good variety of styles with the requisite amount of hoppy beers. Couple a visit with nearby favorites Slack Tide and 7 Mile.“

“Whenever we are in the Wildwood/Cape May area, we go here. The beer list is always good, the largest and best craft selection to be found in the area. Usually about 30 taps, mostly crafts, including a couple of Cape May Brewing choices. Wait staff is OK but not really that beer knowledgeable, mostly because they are young and seasonal. Flights are a good value at four five ounce samples for $8.00. The food is decent pub fare with rotating specials including burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, etc... Wood fired pizzas are very good, best being the Crab and tomato. Several Large TVs showing sports and live music on weekends. Overall a decent night out and a must for craft beer fans.“

“Good beer bar with quality food, located several blocks inland from the boardwalk nonsense. Sat in the outdoor patio area, very pleasant. Service was poor, likely because young seasonal staff. Probably the best spot in the Wildwoods for a beer geek.“

“Decent food, good selection of beer especially for a shore town, and decent service. Good place to visit, pizzas are nice though the beer all seemed a bit watery.“

“I have heard some good things about this place recently so I figured I would check it out for lunch. After being fleeced for all of my quarters by the ridiculously expensive parking meeter out front I entered the bar area and was greeted by a large brick and wood lined space. Pretty large bar area on the left with a decent sized dining room to the right. Tons of TV’s all over the place and a separate bar area outside if you want to sit out there. Quality was good, correct glasses and decent enough food. Service was pretty good. He was around when I needed him and he offered some suggestions. Selection was great for the area. Tons of different beers from all over the country. I stuck with the local options and got a Cape May Blonde. They have two dedicated taps just for Cape May which is awesome, but they also have plenty of other options as well. Food was decent enough. I tried to get a brick oven pizza but it wasn’t up to temperature yet so I had to switch to the chicken finger sandwich which was pretty solid. Overall a nice beer bar in a sea of nothingness. I will definitely return in the future.“

“Really great beer bar down the shore...definitely the best thing in the area and for some distance beyond. Very nice selection of drafts and bottles. Atmosphere is decent enough...staff is welcoming. I drive up here even when staying in Cape May as we often do. I highly recommend a visit here if anywhere in the greater Wildwood area.“

“First, it’s not a brewpub and it annoys me when places call themselves something they aren’t. But, this really is the best thing going "down the shore." The taps are full of good stuff- Bigfoot, Brooklyn Monster, Victory Yakima, along with some local stuff from Cape May Brewing and Tuckahoe Brewing. They say they will always have two Cape May beers on to support the local scene, which is cool. The place is pretty big with a fairly long "L" shaped bar and a nice dining area. I was in on a Sunday afternoon in February and there were maybe three or four other people there. The barkeeper was friendly and knowledgable of the local scene. I would give the place a higher service rating if it were just him, but the burger I ordered took FOREVER to get to me. The barkeeper was even getting annoyed at how long it took. Overall, I really enjoyed the place and the beer selection was great and in good form. The only place worth going in the area.“

Ambiance: dive bar-ish, but clean and not threatening. Service: S...L...O...W. But friendly. Selection: As others have noted, it’s an extensive list. It’s also not updated on the website, and only viewable on a chalkboard in the bar. Every time I wanted to try a different beer (I had 3, and ordered 2 for my wife), I had to get up and walk across the room and stare over people’s heads to read the board. How hard is it to print up a small sheet every day for each table? As far as the selection itself, it was a little heavy on the IPAs, but overall very nice. Food: The brick oven pizza was excellent, the onion rings first rate, and the nachos were mediocre. Menu was typical bar fare. Value: Coming up to New Jersey from Washington, DC, this place felt positively cheap. Overall: Not a horrible place, especially in the craft beer wasteland of South Jersey. Just don’t expect too much, and you won’t be disappointed.“

“I agree with the other reviewers that this is as good as it gets on the south jersey shore, and had i rated this establishment in a south jersey vacuum, it would have gotten a 95%. While i thought the taplist was pretty good, i do have some "constructive criticism": 1) the online taplist was outdated. if you are not going to keep it up to date, tell folks it is not up to date and just a representative list. 2) it is impossible to tell what is on tap at the bar! there is no listing of beers on a piece of paper and no tap board. You need to walk over to the opposite end of the restaurant in the front with folks constantly walking in front and waiting for a table, and try to make out a chalkboard listing. very difficult to read. THEN is turns out that even the chalkboard listing is outdated. Guys, move the chalkboard over the the bar where the beers are and keep it up to date. 3) middle of the summer, 90 degrees outside. they have no kolschs, no craft pilsner, i think1 mediocre lager, in other words, no lighter session beers. i suggest the taplist be kept with the seasons in mind. in the food arena, i ordered a pizza. it took over an hour to get it. the quality was mediocre. i would not go for the food. i may have had a bad experience on an off night, and the this place certainly must get kudos for having craft beers, but there is definitely room for improvement.“

“This is the BEST (and almost ONLY) place at the Jersey shore I have stumbled into that has a great craft beer selection. There are a whopping 36 taps, and the couple I had tasted very fresh. Food was good as well - the thin crust, brick-oven pizza and steamers were particularly delicious. Everyone was friendly, as craft beer places are most often. They were a little understaffed (someone had unexpectedly quit) but the wait staff was courteous and prompt nevertheless. There was an outside area which I never made it to. All-in-all, this is a MUST if you are in South Jersey and I will absolutely be back!“

“went here on my wife and I’s honeymoon. This place rules, it was the best place to get a craft beer on tap and in bottles down here in Wildwood. The food was decent too and our waitress was beer knowledgable and speedy. This place is highly recommended if you in the area and the craft beer crave hits you!!!!!“

“Been going to Goodnight Irene’s when in Wildwood over the past two years. 36 taps that are well maintained and rotated year round, with best selection I have seen in Cape May County. Inside beer menu comes up on the HDTV with alcohol content and pricing. There is an outside deck with limited drafts but waitress brought drinks from inside to us. Waitress needed some education on beer styles, when I asked which IPA’s were currently on tap she mentioned a Saison and a Belgian farmhouse ale. That could be trouble for non-beer geeks. Goodnight Irene’s is a good stop when in Wildwood for craft beer, pizza and to watch sports. Many will remember the location as the old Poplar Cafe. Same ’feel’ just much better beers, vibes and clientele.“

“Visited here on a weekday afternoon to find the place mostly empty. Dimly lit interior with several TVs that had the Phillies game on. Food menu had the usual bar type food but I didn’t eat anything. The tap list had over 20 solid craft beers on tap along with some more mundane choices like Blue Moon, Hogarden, Leinkugles and some BMC stuff. All the beers I tried tasted fresh and they were all served in the proper glassware, often from the Brewery itself. An electric signboard stated the beer, ABV and price so there are no suprises. The website was fairly up to date with maybe 3 or 4 beers that were either out or replaced. If your in the Cape May Wildwood area this is a definite go to spot. I will be revisiting again next weekend and can’t wait.“

“A great place to go when on the Jersey shore. Much better than Firewaters in Atlantic City, both in selection and service. 38 on tap and another 40 or so in bottles. Warm, inviting interior; spacious bar; there is also an outdoor deck. Lots of specials (just missed ’Beer Geek Mondays’). Large schedule of live entertainment. Friendly staff. Well thought out menu, including wood oven pizzas. Food we had was very good. Everything is reasonably priced. Name may be a little misleading -- it is a pub, with a lot of brews, but they are not doing any brewing there. They do have a house beer, brewed for them by Stoudts. An easy place to find, right on one of the main arteries. We were there in the off season and found things just right. Not sure what to expect in the peak season but how could you go wrong with a huge tap selection and good food in a resort town? One more thing that I wished more bars would do: They display their beer menu on a dedicated TV (along with the prices) as well as on a chalkboard. A really nice place.“
