72 /100 1 GARVIES POINT ROAD Visited on 8/31/19. It was difficult to reach due to construction around, and the place itself is easy to miss if you're not careful, since the entrance is kind of hidden at a corner of the small building housing the place, The taproom occupies about half of the space with 8 beers on tap. Growlers and a few cans/bottles are also available. Flights of 6 for $12 was a good bargain. A few snacks available, but no other food around. The beer is not spectacular, but generally good. |
64 /100 27 GLEN ST Visited on a Saturday early afternoon, and unsurprisingly there was no one inside. Large single story structure with a quite roomy taproom on the front. Empty barrels as tables, and a wood top bar to enjoy the beer. They had 4 of their beers on tap, plus 2 guest brews, 2 ciders and one mead. Small pours available, and soft pretzel as snack. The beers were not very remarkable, but they are very new. I hope they improve in time. |
74 /100 Frank’s Beverage Center (Beer Store) 59 CEDAR SWAMP RD Back when I used to live in Glen Cove in the 90’s, I started my beer cellar with beer from Frank’s. Stopped in yesterday and they have added a growler station. Selection has increased and the place is as clean as has always been. Prices are about average for the area. Worth a stop if you are in the area, or if you are on a hunting trip. Run by great guys. |
