82 /100 The Park Lounge (Bar) 605 EAST MAIN STREET The Park Lounge of King’s Park is an interesting little neighborhood bar & grill that seems to thrive in serving a heavy mix of imports and American craft beers, with a few of the "usual suspects" thrown in.
The place was comfortable and I found the quick service to be novel in the crowded little bar. Upon entering, one notices the L-shape of the place as well as the hi-tech juke box.
The selections from the tap were very good with Delerium, Spaten, Lindeman’s (!), Stone, Great South Bay, Greenport Harbor, and a few others leading the way. The bottle selection was okay too.
Though I had great traditional hot wings there and I noted a good menu of things, I didn’t have anything else from the grill as friends noted the kitchen’s work was very good.
The Park Lounge represents a Very Good value as the prices for most beers are lower than average.
Overall, The Park Lounge represents where the tide of good beer is reaching on LI: home. It’s a cool little place with that feel of serendipity that serves its neighborhood a good selection of good beers with great supporting service. |
