“For some reason, I always think these "big" breweries will have huge taprooms. Not the case here ( I'm in the Empty Pint). Small and cozy, mountain lodge look and feel. Small crowd on a Weds evening. Good service and a few tap list finds (they keep a few flagships on all the time). I could do without the country music though. Watch out for the deer on the way in!“

“Great ambiance. The outdoor biergarten looked spectacular. Beer selection was a little light for what I was hoping to find, but I can’t have stouts all year. Didn’t eat, but overall, this place was pretty awesome“

“Beautiful facility and tasting room with a really nice heated patio .... a bit too small for the demand! ... had an apparel area, bar/food ordering and lots of small stand up tables and tables along the walls .... they have an outdoor venue as well .... didn’t have any grub ... they had a nice mix of season brews and standard bearers .... definitely a must hit if your in the area and want some swag and want to see some live music“

“A great set up. I visited on a Saturday, hoping to get on the tour, but there was a long queue waiting when I arrived just after 12, so I opted for the Tasting Room instead, and wasn’t disappointed.“

“Very awesome place. While on a trip in Pennsylvania, we detoured to go check this place out. I have enjoyed their beers in the past, so I was looking forward to going. Place is huge with a nice outside area. They were actually having a picnic/concert the day I stopped in. Beers were great and the staff was as well. Would definitely love to go again.“

“Was glad to finally make it here since none of my tavels ever get me anywhere close to this portion of New York. Being relatively in the middle-of-nowhere does have its perks like tons of space for a large brewery and surrounding land. The day we visited, it was actually their summer picnic that was well attended and featured a number of local bands on a stage out back. Very cool building in-and-out, though we werent able to tour or see the taproom the day we went,. Plenty of beers on tap to try across their different specialty series. Reminded me a lot of Dogfish Head, Left Hand, and other quality breweries that are large, but still cater to their fans.“

“Southern Tier Brewing Company is right in my backyard and I’ve been going there from the start when it was across the street and much smaller than it is today. The old pub didn’t have food and probably only about 8 beers on tap, but I enjoyed it because the regular staff were great and it wasn’t distributed everywhere. They’ve since branched out and expanded and are much bigger and more recognized. It gets very crowded in the pub during the winter months so I usually sit out back on the covered patio with the heat lamps going. In the summer it’s all open in the back and there’s more room to move, but it still gets very packed in. They also have a Stones course to play with your friends and have a few beers so that was a great addition. I was happy with the pulled pork and pub chips, but they have since expanded the food menu to include more options which all go great paired with the different beers. Some of the nacho plates are great and the pricing is reasonable. They also have an excellent selection of beers on tap so that anyone can find something they like as well as different wines for the wine drinkers out there. I will say that one downfall is that it doesn’t feel like the friendly small vibe any longer. A couple of the bartenders are obnoxious and too many snobs will stand and crowd the bar area talking, making it very hard to get a drink. My friends and I used to go there once every couple of weeks, but the trips are fewer now. I’d still recommend this to anyone who likes the beer and wanted to visit. It is a nice place and with the drink choices, food choices, and the merchandise area it won’t disappoint. Just be prepared to possibly run into limited parking and a crowded pub depending on the time you show up. Hope this helps.“

“Aweome location in the woods with a modern cabin feel. Had some beers on the deck during a beautiful day. The tour gives you a bunch of beer for your money and the prices are more than reasonable.“

“Stopped in here on my way to St. Bonaventure for a SLU road game. The Empty Pint is on the back right side of a large, new-looking brewery. Really attractive place. Looks like the pub has a patio for warmer months. Not worth looking too closely in January. No stools at the smallish bar, which makes sense for the space. Gets crowded, with people at tables and those milling about, waiting for tours. I didn’t take a tour. Got a 4-pour (4 oz. each) sampler rack, as well as an 8 oz. beer. 14 taps; I had tried 9 of the beers before in bottles, and the other 5 consisted of 2 brewpub-only selections (Bourbon Back Burner and Du Witte), 1 brand new beer (Live), and 2 I just hadn’t gotten to yet (Eurotrash and 2XMas). So that was nice. Good range of bottles to go, too. Growlers appeared to be the real bargain here. Somehow my check was $31 for the sampler, small pour, and pulled pork sandwich. Someone else’s beers must have gotten charged to my tab or else most things here are absurdly overpriced. Which is a shame, because I liked the atmosphere a lot and struck up a conversation with a hockey fan from Buffalo. And there aren’t many other options in the area, so I had high hopes for this one. The service was fine, nothing special. One bartender was a bit aloof. I read in an old review that the food was good but there was literally one choice (that pulled pork, with chips), so don’t get your hopes up if you’ve got a group eating here. Worth a stop if you’re in this neck of the woods, but be sure to check the chalkboard and make sure your tab doesn’t get jacked up. Wish I would have thought about it before I left.“

“4th stop on ’Brew Tours 2012’. Surprised this was so crowded at 4pm on a Sat. in March. Maybe they should expand the bar area. Good selection of beers and good food. (I think they were lacking a sampler tray) The outside area should be nice when it gets warm.“

“I stopped by the Empty Pint while on a 4000 mile motorcycle trip with my father and I HIGHLY recommend that you visit, either as the main destination, or as a way-point. There were 14 beers on tap and plenty of bottles available for purchase. Mike and the staff were excellent and gracious and the patrons of the pub were equally as outstanding. I’ve been to a great many breweries, and this is one of the best.“

“It was a while back that i was here but it’s a great brewery if driving through, or even as destination. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere in a good way. A pretty standard new built manufacturing business structure gives way to a nice little nano pub with lots of their bottles to buy, growlers to fill and pints to drink. Nice people, all local it seemed. They make awesome beer so why not go to the source.“

“Well this place has as much ambience as a faux ski chalet located smack dab in the middle of an industrial park can have. They have 14 things on tap including a couple of things you typically only see in the large bottle. The service is typical corporate pour ’em fast and slide ’em down the bar. They also have a merch section next to the bar where you can also by some product. They have a surprisingly edible barbecue sandwich to be washed down by their very solid beer. The value for money is very good. I got a barbecue sandwich, chips, and a glass of beer for $9.25. Of course what’s preventing from giving a glowing review of this place is it’s corporate feel. No matter how good the beer is I can’t escape the feeling that I’m in Don Draper’s wet dream.“

“Brewery tap is called Empty Pint. 14 taps of Southern Tier. Quite new place, clean but quite cozy. Big patio. Busy on Sunday. Excellent beer, friendly staff. Most of the things 100% recycled. And food was just what it supposed to be - easy and good.“

“Well worth the trip for the brewery tour and an hour or two of tasting. They make great beer, and often have great deals for those who take the time to find their way there.“

“Somewhat off the beaten path, easy to miss if your not looking for it, but once you find it. its great, very new and edgy feel. Really enjoyed this and as a bonus you pay only 3 dollars for a pint of regular ales and 4 for stouts and couple others. Can’t beat the price for this quality beer. If you come here I recommend the tour, for $10 you stand in side the brewery and drink I believe 5 different beers from a tap and they give you a souvner cup, worth the money.“

“Been to both the old and new facility. The old pub was pretty small but the new one is better and a little more spacey. The artwork inside the pub is really crafty and outdoorsy. Good lighting to. Usually there is about 10 of their beers on tap. They also have a small selection of other beers from other companies and a small selection of wines. I haven’t tried there food yet but will next time I go on their beer tour. Overall I love the new facility and their beer! But don’t go there if your expecting a younger crowd, as it’s usually older and rich people. But the people that go there are usually good company as are the bartenders and brewers.“

“A clean small sized bar with a nice sized patio. Great service with very knowledgeable workers. About 8 taps with about 50% being big beers when I visited. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.“

“Had a little problem finding the place. Luckily, I talked to someone who gave me directions to Southern Tier. The Empty Pint is a small taproom adjacent to the office and brewery. The locals that were there are friendly, especially when they found out I drove all the way from Indiana to visit the place and buy some beer. Was a little disappointed that they didn’t have some of the beers available but was pleased with the prices.“

“Southern Tier has come a long way in producing some of the best beers ever made. There year-round beers are good but their seasonal imperials and Blackwater Series brews are what make them one of the best breweries in the country by far. The Empty Pint is a little place where many locals go on a regular basis to enjoy the company of good friends with similar passions. I would highly recommend stopping in to pick up a bottle or 12 of your favorite bomber. You can pick from whatever seasonals they have out at the moment, usually for around $5, or you can even get missprint bottles for usually $3, you would find the same bottle on sale at $9 or higher. They are only open at limited times on Friday and Saturday and I have seen many people waiting for the doors to open, just to make a mad rush in and buy a case of bombers. The place is very small, and they do not serve food... but they are planning on building a new pub across the street, hopefully they will be breaking ground soon on that. For now, you can snag a pizza at the local Andriaccio’s restaurant and enjoy yourself sitting on the patio at a little tucked away brewery.“

“Stopped in our Saturday and had a great time. The Empty Pint is a cool little addition to a brewery that is basically in the middle of nowhere. Alex was a great bartender and she knew a ton about craft beer, and would answer any question. Was disspointed at the draft selection, but in my opinion it was for the locals over craft beer travelers. Would go back again!“

“Stopped by on a Sat afternoon to get a pint and a growler. They didn’t have any of the big boys on draft? The bottle selection was lacking for the big beers as well, a bunch of HeavyWeizen and a very few others. I like the small friendly tasting room, but the lack of selection was a huge letdown.“

“good ol’ Empty Pint! love this place! they offer the 6 or so most recently brewed beers on tap, along with a wider selection of sothern tier bottles. they do growlers as well. no food. bartenders are great, super friendly! unfortunately they’re only open friday and saturday evenings till about 8 (i suppose this is so they don’t take business from bars in the area selling their product). they also do a tour which i have yet to partake in. i was here every friday night this past summer enjoying the freshest brews in the area. it’s a suprise every time i go in - the anticipation of what they’ll have is great. however, i do wish they’d put up on the website which beers will be on tap ahead of time. highly reccomended! UPDATE: My, how they’ve grown! Massive new facility across the street with beautiful wood construction and a huge patio. Lawn games in the back. Huge window in the tasting room looks right in on the brewery. The bar is at least three times the size of the old one, and they now offer food and wine (though I don’t know why you’d get wine...). Bartenders were great and I rarely waited more than a minute to get a beer, even when the place was packed. So good to see one of the little guys grow up!“

“mmmmm!!! lucious oatmeal imperial stout! This beer is smooth, complex, coffee, chocolate and oatmeal. Creamy with a gorgeous tan head that leave lots of lace on the glass. Southern Tier is a small somewhat isolated brewery near Jamestown, NY that is well worth searching out. Open on Saturdays for tasting and tours from 2-5 p.m. The head brewer Phin was a former brewer at Goose Island in Chicago.“
